1) If my PC is a weapon user - those 2) My PC's armor 3) 2h party member's weapon 4) Party member tank's armor About like that, I have no super specific item that always gets the stone, usually the gear that's best for the build I'm playing does, though powerful, common stuff like Miscreant's Leathers has become mythic multiple times.

Single class wizard is simple and super strong. This board has a good one (Combusting Wizard - pretty much all post 2.0 guides work for both 3.x and 4.x versions for single class wizards), Sage can either be a primary spellcaster that stacks stats with Helwalker stuff, or a melee using wizard buffs (I'd go for a Citzal's Spirit Lance build).

Not Enough Levels?
Clerith replied to Ælfwine's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Honestly, I don't mind hitting max level like 60-70% into the game. It's a little weird compared to basically any other rpg, but like said, it lets you fight at max power and all your abilities for a good while, unlike some other games, where you only get your ultimate thing at the end of the final dungeon. I do wish there was some sort of ...bonus for those who explore and kill everything, getting enough exp to hit high 20s, but that's not really necessary. -
Wiz/Pala is the most defensive of the Citzal builds, almost unhittable with the buffs, but it really loses out in damage to both Monk and Fighter versions. And don't underestimate spammable AoE stun/cc. Paladin's only real offensive option is FoD, which is great at level 1, but your build doesn't come online until Spirit Lance, and you get access to the Monk and Fighter goodies around that level. Paladin is better for strictly anti-Dampener, and a super tanky version, but for a general build or Spirit Lance synergy, the other two are better options. Seriously, aoe/repeat attacks + Spirit Lance = utter carnage.

Wizard/Monk (and Wizard/Fighter) are still excellent classes and nothing has really changed in regards to this build (it was written after the major nerfs, iirc), so it'll work just fine. While Bloodmage is looking excellent right now, we should wait until the final ptr tuning patch before making any real builds. It might very well change. Monk subclass has always been a playstyle choice. Shattered Pillar is the easiest and least annoying subclass to play. While it's usually weaker than the other two subclasses, it does have amazing synergy with Spirit Lance's aoe damage. They all have their own advantages, so... pick the one you want to play.

Yeah, this is my favorite idea. Let me feel like a proper blood mage - burning my life to fuel my spells. Changes the usual attribute spread (I want Con now too!?), and knowing how much health you're paying is way better than a random loss and one random tier cast gained back. Something like 10 (or maybe even up to 20 with all the -raw damage items around) raw damage taken per spell level.

v4.0.0 is now available on the Beta Branch
Clerith replied to Cdiaz's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
I saw Blood Mage and I got hard. I hope I enjoy it, though Arcane Archer might make me roll a Ranger for real. I'm hoping for new synergy with Frostseeker. -
I'll just copy some stuff from teesinz's guides. Drugs: Ripple Sponge: +3 Perception, +3 Resolve, +3 Intellect Taru Turu Chew: +3 Constitution, +3 Dexterity, +3 Might Potions: Potion of Ascension: +2 All Power Levels. (crafting) Potion of Spirit Shield: +3 Armor Rating. (sold by ship merchants or in The Dark Cupboard) Potion of Healing: Small or Morderate (Morderate are sold in Sanza's Emporium) Potion of Deftness: +5 Accuracy, +15% Action Speed. (sold by ship merchants or in The Dark Cupboard) Potion of Perfect Aim: +25% Grazes to Misses / to Hits / to Crits (crafting For examples. Personally, I try to avoid using consumables as much as possible, because that's the sort of a gamer I am - I absolutely HATE using consumable items. That said, if I was soloing the game, I'd definitely use some - especially stuff like Potion of Spirit Shield if I didn't have any active armor bonus.

I'm on my third Evoker playthrough, and this is indeed the expected behavior. The second spell casts 0.1 seconds after the first one, usually right after the first in the combat log. Since power level adds a lot of extra projectiles to missile spells, it looks like a storm of 20 missiles :D If your Missile spell has an aoe component, the combat log indeed gets insanely full. No bugs here.

Strongest - Wizard Weakest - Priest (excluding Salvation/Death's Door - if including that... no idea, ranger still?) Please don't nerf Wizard going into the last, Wizard-related expansion, thank you... Though that's only 'straightforward' power. A right combination of classes, items and skills has a few disgustingly powerful but gimmicky builds available.

Yeah, my favorite Pallegina build is also the tanky healer with summons. Start the fight with twin Ogres, then go to the frontline being an exceptional meatshield, aoe healing and buffing people. Ogres, Exalted Endurance, Ancient Memory, Lay on Hands and Shared Flames is about all she does lol. I just don't know if I should go Sasha's sabre and Lethandria's Devotion (free empower per encounter and attack speed for your allies - though a pure Chanter would use this better, and a yet another healing aura from the shield) or ...some random weapon (probably the singing sabre again) and Cadhu Scalth for even more immortality.

Alchemy still buffs drugs and potions, but kinda weakly now, it's not op or anything. Still something I'd definitely get on a drug monk. Yeah Shattered Pillar got gutted, I've had zero interest to play a Monk multiclass (other than a Sage) for a while. Nalpazca is really strong if you're fine with keeping him drugged, but watch out if you play on PotD - enemy casters will now suppress your buffs (including drugs) very often, causing you to crash haha.
-
It's the best looking armor in the game imo, and the first 2 bonuses are good, the 3rd one is, like you said, very situational, and I've never transformed into an animal, since that almost always sucks. My character is built to be op with gear or spellcasting, transforming into a beast is 99,9% of the time going to be weaker. A super mythic giant beast transformation 1/rest that lasts like 10 seconds sounds great.

v3.0.0 Patch Notes
Clerith replied to David Benefield's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
I like it if your Watcher depends on weapon attacks. You can rush upgrade your weapon to mythic around level 10 if you try. -
Yeah, PotD, no scaling. you should try with I probably should, will have to bite the bullet for the challenges, but I really, really, really hate scaling in all forms, and always have. Since Morrowind or something. I just hate generic low level trash leveling up to me. In an rpg, I want to feel more powerful as I go up in levels. Luckily, that's almost always the case, except in some rpgs with scaling, where the level 50 wolf or bandit is suddenly vivisecting my corpse if I went light on the defenses...
-
Yeah, PotD, no scaling. One table got low and one to half health, but I didn't lose any tables. As for how? I don't know, I just fought normally, splitting my party up, pulling aggro from the imps that spawn on top asap so they go down the stairs instead of attacking the tables that were up there... iirc? My party was a pretty simple Citzal Battlemage MC, tanky dw Swashbuckler Eder, pure Priest Xoti, bow Mindstalker Ydwin and a pure Chanter Konstanten. And like I mentioned, level 20, best gear, etc.
-
I started yesterday and finished today. Overall, it felt around 20-30% harder than BoW, but still fairly easy. Admittedly, I went in overleveld (20 party + 18 Konstanten), but that's only expected at this point. In all the fights, I took a total of one injury. Zero consumables used. A few Seeker and Survivor fights made me use light tactics. All in all, a pretty fun expansion (5,5 hours too, compared to BoW's 4,5), but the mega boss is definitely much harder than anything the dlcs throw at you. Well, until you go to forums and learn how to solo cheese it...
