  1. Stealth - I don't know about distance (I don't think so - at least the hearing circle is the same size, regardless of your 1 or 20 stealth, and the detection bar starts filling immediately after you're inside) - but high stealth makes the detection fill MUCH MUCH slower. Like ten times slower, if comparing very high to very low stealth. Pickpocketing items seems to be based on the item's value. It would be nice to have a detailed guide on all these different mechanics and values. But I think most people don't bother with things like Sleight of Hand, and if you make a build with both, you generally are good enough to steal and sneak what you need, so you don't pay too much attention to the minute details and mechanics, as long as it works.
  2. It's supposed to be two people with maxed levels. But I think they have two levels in one job and two in another. Wait, the new 'legendary' crew are garbage? 4* in one role is the best... 3* in main role and 1* elsewhere is filler. Anything else other than 3* in one role is garbage. Sailors can't level past 4* total, though one or two come with 5* total levels, but can't level up. 2* and 2* seems terrible...
  3. Single class Wizards and Monks are excellent, so I'd use those. Single class Priest and Druid are fine, I'd use one of those as your buffer/healer. For frontline... Fighter and Barbarian are both all right. Actually, Barbarian is good, but is much more suited to be a dps than a tank. Paladin would be the tankiest, but single class Paladin is really a pointless waste imo. And to round things out, Chanters are probably the third best single class and go well with anything. Wizard (ranged dps and cc) Monk (melee dps) Priest (heals and buffs) Chanter (does everything, summons and support) Frontline tank (Fighter is best tank, Barbarian is best dps, Paladin is best support - pick your poison) That's how I'd do it. Since it's PotD, give everyone a defensive bent - stat stick + small shield for the Wizard, steal Xoti's Lantern for the Priest/Druid, Chanter goes Sasha's sabre + shield and builds very tanky, the frontline uses a shield too (even more favoring Fighter and Paladin imo).
  4. +Heavy Mobility: -1% Recovery per Athletics skill Does this really give -1% recovery per a point of Athletics, or is it something like 0,25% per a point of Athletics?
  5. I like the attributes, it's more or less what I do on my wizards (and I'm the most invested in wizard builds by far). As for abilities, those are up to personal preference, but I basically always have space for fire + ice penetration and will resist. You also really want the cast speed and range talents, those are super. What's two weapon fighting doing there? You won't be auto-attacking. If you pick a weapon talent, pick weapon and shield style. Early PotD shield is extremely good for survivability. Later you can change to a 2h or 1h+1h stat sticks for casting. A personal favorite of mine is Griffin's Blade for the spellpower enchant that works with non-elemental damage like all Missile spells and Wilting Wind, your top tier T8 and T9 spells.
  6. Yeah, the classes are pretty comparable. Fast melee classes bringing self Might inspiration buff. Both are good single classes, with Monk being slightly better, imo. As for multiclassing... this is all just in my experience: Wizard - Monk has better synergy with melee Wizard (one of the best combos in the game). Barb works for both melee and evoker Wiz, but both seem B tier to me. Rogue - both combos are strong, Monk is better single target at max level, but otherwise I feel like Barb is slightly better. Ranger - I actually like melee Ranger/Monk. Ranger's bonus Accuracy synergises better with Monk's crit repeat attacks. Ranger/Berserker has a fun rp flavor though, and is a solid melee. Priest - haven't played. I imagine I'd personally go for Barb. I've seen some great results from that combo. Paladin - I like combining an offensive melee class (Barb) with a defensive melee class (Pala). There was that 'burn heretic burn' Votary build pre-nerfs that was amazeballs, but now, Fanatic is probably better. Fighter - Brute is very solid and strong. Brawler used to be like the strongest martial combo pre-nerfs, now it's okay but Barbarian goes better (another offensive + defensive mix). Druid - no idea. B tier all around at first glance. Monk/Shifter is fun but not super strong. Cipher - Helwalker goes really well with Ascendant. Barb for Soulblade. The Monk combo is stronger. Chanter - Barb has more obvious synergies. I like it more. All in all, pretty even spread.
  7. Eat Captain's Banquet. Become immune to Int afflictions (charm and dominate) and a whole load of other strong bonuses!
  8. 9 seconds though. Well, it will be shortened, but it's still long. 30% lash... uhm. Let's call it 6 seconds investment to get a 30% lash. In 6 seconds... you attack (on average?) every ~3 seconds, so twice. So you need to get in 6 hits for the lash to 'pay back' for those missed hits. Which is (assuming 3 seconds per attack again) 18 seconds. Add on some other buffs, and combat in general should last over 20 seconds for the spell to be worth it?
  9. I was just thinking that! If it looks like that ingame, it'll a cool looking greatsword with two offensive mods, so it should be at least all right. The 2h axe is a bit more interesting, though.
  10. Thank you. Very nice. But what does the cape's Mystical Celerity do? So I guess Infuse Vital Essence is basically warranted. /orgasms in wizard
  11. I expected it to be a simple -35% multiplicative after everything else, but someone said it goes into the damage calcs and ends up being -55% additive damage. Meaning it'll hurt rogue less than the others.
  12. I'm guessing that dw is still very slightly stronger when spamming full attacks, though 2h weapons with unique aoe properties could pull ahead, depends on a lot of the build too, like dw is usually very cut and dry, slap on any straightforward martial class, while 2h builds are more unique (WotEP, Voulge, Citzal).
  13. Full Attacks made while dual wielding will now receive a -35% penalty to the damage they deal. You guys asked for it and got it. Er, maybe the wrong thread, but I just finished reading the patch notes and for some reason had to post here. Not everybody visits the beta forums. Anyways. I'm more interested in the spellybooks, since I'm a Wizard enthusiast. I hope the unique spells are Ninagauth-tier, not "the rest"-tier. Any chance for screenshots of the new equips though? I haven't seen anything, but the axe sure looks interesting.
  14. It was all right. About 5 hours. New gear, especially soulbounds. The new sidekick was pretty cool. The story was all right. The new locales were good. The encounters were tougher than most things in the base game. Basically 8-9/10 all around. Winter theme + Ydwin reactivity earned a few brownie points. Could have been a few dollars cheaper, but that's the case with all piecemeal DLCs.
  15. This is just nitpicking since the OP lready defined his run (run through hosango, poka kohara, drowned borrows and few other places in Upscaled Potd. Run takes about an hour on average.), and no encounter actually lasts for minutes. OF COURSE casters take a dive if you fight an hour straight with no rest and spell refresh. It doesn't even need to be said and isn't a realistic gameplay scenario. That's just being pedantic over the (dph) definition taken out of context.
  16. Too bad you need a mod to unlock Priest - Woedica. I definitely gained a new appreciation for Priests after trying out Vatnir. I know he's like half Wizard, but I was actually using Minor Avatar and doing good damage. A fast martial/caster is definitely dynamic and flexible.
  17. Evoker is really dominating your dph tests. What's your spell selection like? Missile Salvo single targets and small clumps, Wilting Wind aoe? It's even better when playing normally, since Empower is better with casters, and opening from stealth with Wiz aoes is very legit.
  18. To me, this bug happened especially often if I quickloaded during a ship battle or something going on with the ship. Otherwise, it felt like a random ~10% chance to lose ~15% of your money, yeah.
  19. The axe also crashes my game... wonderful end to the DLC =.= Edit: thanks, reddit. Spamming F5 during the cutscene and the following black screen, quit the crashed game, restart and load the quicksave (showing a blank white image) worked.
  20. I don't think you alone have that sentiment. Grats for finally finishing your build, Cyrus... for now, at least. I don't mean to offend, but does this mean a stop to the repeated threads about your build day after day after day after day? Because I think you need a break.
