Of course the difference is YOU can do that even if the game doesn't force you to. However WE can't do what we want if the game is set up like you want. See the difference? (I still play like you anyway, but I definitely wouldn't want to be hampered upon travelling about just exploring and doing quests and such)

Pick another class? I mean; I figured that was the use of having different classes, so they're all unique in their own way. Not having 12 flavours of icecream... oh but they're all chocolate just cause. And then there's that chocolate-vanilla, and here swoops in the 'delete the vanilla immediately cause I want chocolate!' without, you know, acknowledging you already got 11 of those or so. IMO allowing Wizard to also melee properly is beyond stupid, but that's me.

Cause otherwise you end up with: * Pick one power (let's call it "Force Lightning"), spawn it for 40 hours, and everything dies at the spot. * You got 'The Destroyer of Worlds' beat by naked weaponless people. * You touch someone with your pinkie, removing their entire health bar and triggering a 'He's too powerful! You need to flee!' cutscene * An intricate minefield, meant to challenge the player becomes "1 1/2 FREE LEVEL UPS!" All errors made by Obsidian mind you. I kinda look forward to seeing how The Witcher III turns out. I expect the worst and definitely do NOT pre-order. I don't have faith in CDR making anything worthwhile of it, but it should be interesting to see what they cooked up, how people will respond to it, how people on these forums respond to it. Cause personally I feel they fell into the BioWare trap and are lost to us.

So here I come in with a crazy idea... How about instead of making the ranger a clone of other classes so there's boringness all around to just look at it's pro's (range/pet) and work on building off on that. You know, make classes more unique and different rather than less. So what if you want a melee one... it's not like there's every single other class out there for you to do so already. Really... What's the ranged hate?

I've seen a giant barbrawl with many patrons, kickstarters involved in fighting my opponents. They weren't attacked either.

"BUFF X, BUFF Y, BUFF Z! NEVER NERF" Resulting ****tail: Modern RPG's without any challenge level at all. That's why they do it... if you just buff in the end you just get overpowered everything. It's sad so many people don't get this, and complain about 'don't nerf' along with 'too easy' along with probably more conflicting goals :/ (We need a dislike post button )

They should have fixed that hostility issue with 1.0.5. I don't really know about all these mechanics though since I got zero attacks in my entire playtime 0_o

Achievements and trading card system are totally unrelated. So no point there. Also, it makes me sad this is such a big thread now, like it actually matters... while it really shouldn't. BUT... here I come in with the sollution. Add a 'Kickstart the expansion DLC' to Steam that costs 15 euro and gives... this achievement, and nothing more. Not the expansion of course, you just fund it not buy it. After it's release make a 'Kickstart expansion #2' and then 'Kickstart PoE2' etc. So people always can fund the game and get their precious useless achievement while we all actually gain something from dumb people like that. It's win-win!

How exactly does one long-term project what orders they might get from publishers...? Not to mention several of said orders where terminated prematurely (Alien RPG for example) or the funders went down under (South Park).

Am I the only one who really likes revisiting old content with new goals like Raedric's Hold. Do you guys seriously want to move forward and never look back, all areas to be a static border in a linear progression? Also "If you want to play the game you want, go normal... harder is going to force you into paths"? I am so glad you guys are not game developers...

Wrong link? I assume you were going to link the petition for it, which yes, there's a large thread, probably 30+ pages by now in the depths of these forums. More fixes, more balancing... I guess... a much larger patchlog than this. Though if this is a big changelog things seem very well for PoE as far as bugless RPG releases go. Funnily enough, I can't image walking rather than running... that's like not using Speed in KOTOR2; Unbearable. And I recall D:OS arguments well, people often complain a lot more about moving slowly than moving too fast.

Possible Bug in Sanitarium
Hassat Hunter replied to teh_elgee's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
So did this get fixed for everyone with the actual 1.0.5 release? -
I tried that with the Adra Dragon, but 'obviously' that doesn't work. I say obviously since difficulty works differently in PoE, it affects the seed of a map rather than just add damage and HP as stuff like other games. So changing it wont change a pre-seeded map, you could've tried going easy on an older save before loading Thaos' map though. But yeah, he's the endboss, he's not expected to be a pushover.

Just want to know...
Hassat Hunter replied to Miraklum's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Well, of course they work on an expansion, otherwise they wouldn't have sold one during the Kickstarter campaign. For your information I got that add-on. Bring it on I say! But not too soon, get it as juicy as possible! -
Obsidian, can you make Dragon Age II?
Hassat Hunter replied to luzarius's topic in Developers' Corner
I'll just re-post this here; Of course DA:O was also a spiritual successor to BG, so asking this is the same as asking one to BG, or PoE. I guess it all goes down in the details, why did you like DA:O more? * Darkspawn A, B, C and D rather than the lush bestiary? * Game playing itself (funny people hated this about Dungeon Siege, but praise it to the heavens about Dragon Age. Silly gamers.) * Sex scenes? * Gay loving? * People who all fawn over you with 5 dialogues? * A horrible 3D engine with pretty much always *something* blocking your view? * MMO "heat" system where everyone naturally goes to the highly armored guy who screams 'attack me'... that's some good AI, right! All very natural? * Overpowered 'best of the game' items put in your inventory at the start. Cause that's not balance breaking at all! Anything else?
