  1. I'm toying with the idea of a max dex chanter who spams seven night fueled by 1 lvl phrases. Apart champios brave horde alone invocation or potion of daom, what can do the chanter to reach 0 recovery with spells? Up to now i have gauntlet of swift aim + svef, but is not enough.
  2. Like Braven said: with this build most of the time you will use whisper of yenwood + steadfast or other weapons. Punch are there for a different kind of dmg and moreover to just have more dmg if needed. At the start of the fight you are gaining a lot of wound fast and have a lot of retaliation effect. When there will be just 1 or 2 robust opponents left i found more efficient turning back to fists to enanche your dps.

  4. I tried to killClyver and he doesn't drop shame or glory sadly. So you have to do the quest to acquire the sword. Instead i remember that droemel boss actually drop the stiletto, but it is only in my memory, i'm not sure
  5. Ciphers can target themselves with the level 2 power, vampiric shield. This was probably a developer oversight, but lets take advantage of it. This, too, can be cast outside of combat and targeting yourself should trigger defiant resolve. Granted, I think defiant resolve only lasts 10 seconds and is not affected by Intelligence. Using vampiric shield on yourself is a good idea anyways because it raises your deflection by +25 and has a long duration (net 15 deflection if you have at least 11 resolve, since it drains 10 away). Out of combat, the focus immediately replenishes and it doesn't do damage. This works best if you start with only 3 resolve; a tempting thing to do anyways with cipher since they benefit a lot from more offensive stats. This is because you can't go below 1 resolve. With 3 resolve, you only lose 2 for a +23 net deflection boost. If you are using drugs or wearing the hat that lowers resolve by 2, you get the full +25 deflection with no downside at all and another +10 to all defenses from defiant resolve. You can then continue casting it on yourself periodically during the battle. It is probably worth more casting it on yourself for the +10 to all defenses than just lowering an enemy's resolve; just be sure not to buff your will defense so high that you miss yourself. Having only 1 resolve helps this as it keeps your will defense relatively low. Yeah, autovampiric shield is actually a good plan i think. Or the best proposed up to now. Just care to skip brutal psychic backlash talent! Normal backlash is not a problem, since stun autoresolves out of combat.
  6. Lol the new frontier in a party of 6 immortal chanter that kills everyting with autoattack at 3dex. Sloooowly 6 shields of 30 dmg that autorenew every 6-10 seconds need a spike of at least 180 dmg to break trough. Defenetly need testing.
  7. Late to the party, i wanted just say that you can go even for 3 res and autocast on yorself vampire shield before every fight ( so you gain +25 def for only -2 res). Of course interruptions will be awful, so potion of spirit shield, a priest with holy meditation (or later crowns for the faithful), winding path amulet, belt of chimes or celebrant gloves all are your friend. And remember to eat! Such chiper could gain great advantages from svef (ab)use --> +15 attack speed, +0,5 movespeed -4 res; and carow golan +20 reflex, +20% focus gain ( i think that +10 deflection became suppressed by the vampiric shield). Edit: talent order #1 biting whip #2 vet rec #3 weapon style / draing whip #4 whatever
  8. Interesting, but maybe this is a bit overcommitment for only +10 to all def... And anyway, in the fights where this can matter (dragons/boss) there will always be someone with fear aura, so it will be up all the time automatically. I mean: nice theorycrafting, but difficult to have a practical use

I just tought: since a lot if spells will be tied to power level ( become more powerful as you lvl up - es: minoletta gets more missiles and so on) how will be affected the conjurated weapons?Since there are a lot of such spells in game ( parasithic staff, the lance, firebrand, ecc) my speculation is that wapons too will "evolve" with the power lvl, probably enanching weapon quality ( fine- excellent - superb) or even giving weapon more abilities. So having a wizard specialized in the related school ( so he have a bonus power lvl relative to such spell could be interesting). So i expect that concelhaut parasitic staff, for example, come fine at lvl 1 and without abilities, at lvl 4 you gain more quality + 20% life leech, at lvl 8 more quality, ecc. Or maybe it is all only in my mind
  10. In the end most depends about how much the last 2 tiers of spells/abilities/power will be. For example in pillars the last 2 spell lvl of druid and wiz were a bit meh, i could have multiclass them easily. On the other side i would have missed a lot defensive mindweb for a chiper or sacred immolation for a paladin.

  12. After a fast research : apart from starcaller, unforgiven, spelltongue, sword of daeneys, drawn in spring there is not much... In particular clubs and stilettos are very underwhelming categories. Daggers have only drawn in spring worth to mention.
  13. Anyway i'm in the middle of a chiper run. Up to now it is shield + bittercut, bit now i'm tempted to try dw spelltongue + sword of daeneys. The only thing that concerns me is the major loss of deflection and reflexes, since is a solo run it can be a problem.
  14. Is just that i have never seen a rogue/chiper build actually using fast weapon ( apart the already mentioned drawn in spring). I always thought that was only because fast weapon dmg is much easily blocked by dr, but now i see that is not necessarely the case. On the other side as far as my memory serves me i have to say that there is a severe lack of "good" enchantment on fast weapons, since apart from speed in the weapons mentioned by Boeroer, nothing has stunning/overbearing, maybe something have annilathe but i don't remember. So imho the thing is more "the good unique are mostly in slow 1h than in the fast 1h" then " Fast 1h underperform by themself vs slow 1h"
  15. Just to be clear: someone is claiming that bittercut/hammers or tidefall/Blade of endless path are not the best dps weapon anymore? Apart from drawn in spring, what is the best (more dps) fast weapon in your opinion?

I'm strongly looking for - shapeshift monk : high base dmg + torment reach+ swift strikes+ wildstrike 1&2 (&3?)+ turning wheel+ bonus from allies --> uber dmg - chiper + rogue : since rogue have the most explosive power at the etart of the fight, this should mean very high focus income, so the second part of the fight you can unleash all chiper powers. Or depens about how soul blade chiper subcalss works, deal high single target dmg. - the best combo for revamp the monk retaliation build ( with barb? Ripose rogue? Chiper for pain link power? Many possibilities) - the best combo for a melee wiz ( no more endurance and per encounter spells --> no more "daily limits"/ best combo could be with barb for carnage / warrior for staying alive powers/ pala for resistences - FoD - auras)

  20. i tried to revert the file to the "original" form (using yours "backup" powers) and now the purple visual glich applies to all the modded powers. The good thing is that after putting again the pached powers in the prefabs folder now they all worked properly (you are able to target self). TL;DR : after the second ctrl+c / ctrl+v the pach work, but all the visual effects are gliched (instead of normal visual effect you see just a purple pixeled cloud)
  21. Ok more testing: - SOUL SHOCK : still CAN'T target self. CAN be cast on ally, HAVE NOT visual problems - AMPLIFIED THRUST still CAN'T target self. CAN be cast on ally, HAVE NOT visual problems - GOING BETWEEN still CAN'T target self. CAN be cast on ally, HAVE NOT visual problems - PAIN ATTUNEMENT still CAN'T target self. CAN be cast on ally, HAVE NOT visual problems - AMPLIFIED WAVE CAN tagert self. Visual problems (the wave is a gigantic purple effect). So up to know the only fix actually working is the amplified wave one, all the others are not working properly.
  22. just to report: this is what happen using the modded amplified wave. I will test other powers soon. The problem is just graphycal anyway, the target on self part works perfectly
  23. Really? That's taking the nerfin hammer to far I reckon. If was never that strong in the first place And you really think that acuan gimas is stronger then abydons hammer? That area of efftect stun and the knock prone per encounter are insanely strong. Plus it's mythic, +4 might and I can't remember what else it does. Basically vessel slay on crit and prone on crit
