  1. If that is really how you feel then you should wait until the game is fully released. This is a beta version for testing only, and testing really requires a special mental patience that very few have. There is very little value in testing this current version until a hotfix with the main issues is released, even when that is released, there are still going to be quite a few other bugs that we were not able to find simply because the current issues leave us in a state that the game breaks before we find them.
  2. I paid for d20 based game just like Torment,BG and IWD as was advertised in the kickstart not for this mess. Do you remember when they announced they had the d20 license during the Kickstarter?
  3. Yes, too many issues up front to really find anything that isn't an already a known issue or a repercussion of a known issue. Bugs aside, I enjoyed it a ton.
  4. While the current system isn't perfect, I still prefer it far over D&D which just promotes min maxing.
  5. I had a look at your error logs, it still looks like it as a lack of memory. How much do you have? Posting a dxdiag in your bug thread might help. Vril I have 4GB RAM on my laptop. Anyway, here's my dxdiag. I suspected as much, it is the same issue that 32-bit OS are having, they can only have a maximum of 4 GB and even though you have 64-bit, you only have 4 GB too. The game is unoptimized memory wise at this point so isn't going to get far with that little memory. The best you can do is shut down all other applications you have running on your PC other than Steam and PoEt and you might get a little further. Surely this will be fixed at some point, will just have to wait til it is. As I said in my original post, hopefully they start by fixing those issues, memory and persistence problems, will go a long way for them to get more beneficial information from testing.
  6. Try saving and then loading that save back up from the PoEt main menu, that allowed my stuck character to be able to move again.
  7. I am about 16 hours in and am doing all the quests I can before I actually pick a faction. I've enjoyed it so far quite a bit more than both Risen and Risen 2. Combat is slightly improved over Risen 2 but still can have some minor issues. There are a ton of quests on each island. I know people will say it is really just Risen 2.5 since it reuses a lot of graphical content but with the sheer amount of quest content I really do not care and it was worth the price for that alone..
  8. I do not want large xp gains from combat, especially the completely inconsistent XP rewards of BG1 and BG2 but I do want to feel like I get a little something by doing it. If the game releases without any xp from combat I will attempt to avoid the combat, and part of exploration of areas is combat, I feel that will make exploration somewhat less rewarding. The vast amount of xp gained in the game still should be from quests though.
  9. And the best part about Soul Ignition is that it does NOT aggro anything. Certainly a bug that has been posted about here.
  10. I had a look at your error logs, it still looks like it as a lack of memory. How much do you have? Posting a dxdiag in your bug thread might help.
  11. Thank you for the link. Yeah, it would be really nice if this forum had a dev post tracker feature. http://pedevtracker.azurewebsites.net It's not complete with all the devs (especially the new ones) but captures most of them. Thanks, I had been looking for something like that for a long time.
  12. Almost all the crashes I've seen with that problem are people running 32-bit operating system, meaning it is purely a memory issue.
  13. I haven't used the stealth mechanic but definitely feel that way if that is how it is working currently.
  14. I was curious about this too. Hope it makes it in.
  15. No there is no schedule since this was just released on Monday. From what I have found, the largest issue with the game has to do with persistence with reloading saves. If you load a save, then reload it, you are going to start running into problems in the game, missing journal entries, missing items, spawning pigs, vendor prices changing. If they can get that nailed down, the whole beta should work a whole lot smoother and testing information a whole lot more useful. You can circumvent a lot of problems by returning to the main menu and loading Save from there. The crashes you are most likely encountering are most likely memory issues and leaks, again related to persistence between loading save games and new areas. That shouldn't be overly difficult to fix, possibly time consuming for the coder but the game does seem to do a better job 'cleaning things up' returning to the Main Menu than it does when just loading a Save from a currently running game.
  16. Translations: Bîaŵacs = Bruce Clîaban Rilag = Jimmy Edér = Ed Cean Gŵla = John Brîshalgwin = Billy Rauatai = Ron Jxamitl = Matt
  17. Definitely should be off by default, think we got several threads regarding the games lack of contrast because of this.
  18. It is a known issue. If you return to the main menu and load the save, you should have the correct Journal. Most of the bugs are related to this issue, think when you just load from a currently ongoing game, things are not cleaned up properly.
  19. The backer beta already has more choices than Baldur's Gate had.
  20. I'd like to see at least one additional head type for each Godlike archetype. I'm not fully happy with how the Death Godlike have turned out, I guess I'd like to see one closer to how the single male Death Godlike portrait is, which I like, I suppose is similar to head #1 except less Conehead-like.
  21. I like the happy medium between Non-existent PC/companion story and relationships and PC/companion relationships and stories throughout that is Temple of Elemental Evil with Circle of Eight expansion.
  22. Most likely it is the fact the rest of the Godlike races have 3 head types and the Moon ones have 4, where it should be 3
