Pillars of Eternity II Novella
Last I heard the Novella was due in May of 2018. It was supposed to be written by Richard Knaak whom has written a ton in various fantasy IPs. Was looking forward to this as a backer. I'd assume this project is as good as forgotten?

Is There A Way?
If you don't want to instruct your companions to do anything, you're going to need to play on Easy and forget about Trial of Iron.

If Pillars of Eternity had romances
Certainly Grieving Mother

A proposal -- the community can contribute if the code if open-sourced
This isn't really the kind of game that would benefit from an open source.

Cooler than a limerick discussion
Hadn't seen one of your posts for a while there Marceror, game turned out pretty good didn't it?

So the next kickstarter is...
Pillars or this, Arcanum might be a flawed game but it's actual setting is excellent.

Custom Parties and PotD
How would that even work?

Vicent Agosti needs a voice!
But the complainers have already stated unequivocally that there are too many voice overs in this game already.

Each New Patch & Hotfix ?
I recall Wasteland 2 having some issues with peoples save games after updates. So far, PoE hasn't had those kinds of issues.

No Map Marker for House in Ondra's Gift
Just north of the "Ramshackle House" in Ondra's Gift, there is another house that is able to be entered but does not have a map marker. As far as I've seen, all the houses in the game that are able to be entered have a map marker I make note of this because my backer NPC is in there. Thanks
- WTF is wrong with Obsidian?

Bonus XP for small parties
The OP graph is confusing, as far as I remember there was no bonus in BG1 or BG2. If something was an enemy was worth 1000xp if you were solo you received 1000xp, if you had a 4 person party, each member got 250xp and so on.

Dragon Age: Inquisition
I'm pretty sure that is what they were going for.

i hope the sequel doesnt use unity 4
Maybe he has something running in the background hogging system resources.

i hope the sequel doesnt use unity 4
It's not entirely down to Unity, it is also how developers use the engine. PoE used a lot of bespoke rendering technology, it is likely not as optimized as it could be, but that right there is the vicious cycle of software development, it can never be fully done, can always be iterated upon.

Obsidian spent a lot of time building their rendering tech and tools in Unity so they could use it in future games. They will no doubt use it over in future games, including Inxile's Torment game. The fact they have this engine already built will shave many months of development of the next release.

Why cant I pre buff?
That's likely one of the reasons they have done it, buffing is now a tactical choice.

Seems like XP balance is out of whack
I'm especially curious to know how XP works when you're soloing - I hear there's some sort of soloing XP bonus or something... but wouldn't a solo character already get all that XP meant for a six-character party? Essentially it's +10% for each character slot empty. 5 total = +50%. You gain less total XP from all sources, but it's split between fewer characters, and the net result is +10 to +50% depending on party size. Uh... so, if a quest gives me 600 XP with a six-character party, a solo character would get 100 XP + 50% = 150 XP? Or did I misunderstand something? If that's correct, it seems kind of strange that the game outputs the total amount of XP awarded instead of just the per-character XP, but maybe I just look at things differently than others... I think it would be 600 XP + 50% = 900 XP for a solo character. I haven't tried soloing in PoE yet but that is how it would have worked in Infinity. Maybe because certain classes aren't quite as OP in PoE as they were in BG or Icewind Dale

Walking off the beaten path is unintentionally spoiling parts of the story (minor story and companion spoilers)
Spoilers in the non-spoiler forums.

All those trashmobs make the game really boring
How is it an MMO grind, you don't get any experience by killing those mobs.

Seems like XP balance is out of whack
Completely agree, people should probably state what difficulty they're playing on when commentating about changes in this game. It reminds me of some people complaining about Crusader Kings 2 being too easy but they're save scumming, if they played on Ironman, then they would see it's much more punishing.

Seems like XP balance is out of whack
I believe the reason it is balanced as it is now is that they did not want to require a player to complete all content to be able to have a party at high enough level to complete the end. I do not see any problems with it.

No buffing outside of combat, why?
At least we now know the disposition of the developers.
