this random encounter thing suxs so badly. the newest patch seems to have alot more of bugs. like aegis of loyalty not removing charm, traversing between map there are error stating the map failed to load. this random encounter driving me crazy. i'll give that cornett thing a try in my next run. already few characters all 0 encounters.

I'm testing with my character. I apply Deadeye and Potion of Deftness. Eder has no alchemy skill. But description stated Deadeye should get +5 ACC and same with Potion of Deftness. I attack random NPC and i check the attack rolls, no accuracy added from deadeye nor potion of deftness. Anyone can confirm this? I check the accuracy from my main and off-hand both doesn't have deadeye nor potion of deftness added.

v3.0.1 is now available on the Beta Branch
Archaven replied to Cdiaz's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
dear sir any news on random encounter in neketaka not triggering? this has been a showstopper for me since months ago. thank you for your kind consideration. -
is there a skill guide around? i'm not asking about party assist. i kinda understand how much party assist contribute. let's say alchemy. if my character specialized in alchemy, how many points is the ideal? is there a formula on how much it can help potions etc.? arcana i think it's not that difficult to guess as you only pump to the level where the scrolls indicate how many arcana you required. how about mechanics? is 16 mechanics enough? i always have eder with the highest mechanics. that makes him with no room for athletics. considering if i'm getting +4 with party assist, he only needs 12 mechanics? that leave him with not much room for other skills as i see mechanics are really important skill to take. as for aloth, since i've determined that he should use the chromo staff, he definitely needs the metaphysics. how many points should i pump for this skill? i dont want to over-pump the points with diminishing returns. also, MC skills. i always prioritize diplomacy first. what are the most beneficial skills to pic for dialogue options? thanks in advance!

Game's UI Breaking down a bit :D
Archaven replied to Hulk'O'Saurus's question in Patch Beta Bugs and Support
i cant recall but i did see similar issues in previous patches. seems kinda rough launch so i'm definitely waiting longer before playing it again. -
It's been awhile i'm away as been pretty busy with work and personal life. I saw previous update that there's this real time. I really like the idea of this real time battle. My question is, it's possible to complete the game on real time without paused in potd? Is it micro heavy? Is it even possible without micro at all? I'm fine with some micro but anyone can share their spell/abilities hotkey setup? Looking forward for realtime playthrough. Thanks!

Character height
Archaven replied to TheBruce's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
if anything i want to make taller probably would be elves. obsidian version of elves are shorter than human. not sure why dwarves aren't taller. if not mistaken dragon age elves are short and slaves too. Dragon age elves are indeed short. I always like to make characters look like myself (tall n slim), but my favorite games always make elves too short (small n slim) or the humans too jacked/wide (tall n broad-ish). Life is hard. obsidian: we need change for the sake of change :D -

i find cipher has many, many useful abilities but you are only to choose 1 ability per leveling. i like the flexibility much more like as in first poe. i would have hoped that deadfire would be like the class combo of first poe classes. i take it that it's extremely difficult to balance? also in my opinion due to this design decision certain class like priest became not required. wizard is still exactly the same like first poe except that the nuisance is you need to switch your grimoires. that's why wizard is far more powerful and useful in deadfire compared to other classes. another abilities i found others suggesting in builds are silent scream. it seems to looks good on paper, i find the damage less appealing.

wondering anyone taking these skill at all? i find myself taking these. are they not necessary? phantom pain -10 def and -1 armor. that is terribly awesome if you ask me. plus the big aoe. but i dont see anyone taking this in their builds at all? secret horrors for the frighten. i'm not sure if this skill is bugged? seems that some monsters still able to nuke me or cast offensive spell under secret horrors. otherwise i think this spell is pretty awesome mental binding. paralyze target for 6s and aoe immobilized. i think it's pretty awesome. only issue is the immobolize target fortitude. most mobs in potd have very high fortitude, reflex and even will. how do you overcome spell accuracy? tenous grasp. anyone taking this at all? is able to shaken thus lowering will and helps cipher dominating spells better. discuss
