Patch Notes for 3.1.0.0016
Archaven replied to Cdiaz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
the brilliant nerf sound sad. do you think it deem unnecessary? -
i fought him at lower level (can't recall). he's quite strong. his dominate attack is quite annoying (not sure how to counter that). and his nuke is crazy. i was lucky to have pallegina around to revive my main. all his defenses are very high except deflection if not mistaken. after beating him, able to summon concelhaut (his nuke is very nice too). the problem i have with him he talks too much... anyway to silence him? same goes for nemnok.

Can someone comment on the spellshaping?

Wow -5 is really harsh. Is there incentive if shaping it bigger? -
i think deadfire is an improvement over first pillar. the idea is revolve with multi-class. that's what i have the most fun of. in my opinion, deadfire shouldn't have single class. every character should multi-class and they should be able to freely pick any skills they want upon leveling. now, some skills are locked behind power level to favor single class which is a bummer for me. deadfire has some great ideas but i dont get the idea of procs. some of the procs were far too low (because they tune it for aoe procs). what they could have done maybe procs based on the first engage target? they can have some aoe procs too but they can fiddle with that balance. there are many things that can be improved on for deadfire. at the moment there are still quite a number of bugs but otherwise it's really an enjoying game for me!

+1 All effects need to be visible. Making hostile first doesn't fix the problem. Obsidian need to "fix" the problem. Period. Another annoyance I've found. The hotbar seems to block the formation. I can only fix it by selecting all characters before I'm able to click on my formation. Not sure how many people use formation but I do tinker with it The beta patch also includes new UI options that hide parts of the HUD outside of combat and/or when the game is not paused. I have one character whose ability bar blocks part of the combat log, for example, so I have it set so that - outside of combat only - it only appears when I pause the game. You can do this with any or all visible parts of the HUD now, including having a HUD-free setup that automatically brings everything back whenever a fight starts). It would be really nice if they'd let us drag HUD elements around wherever we want them, but this is still a huge improvement and at least gives players a way to prevent parts of the UI from blocking one another. allowing us to drag the UI would be awesome. also, there's no way to level up characters when in character sheet or inventory. why is it so hard just to add the + sign in character sheet or inventory?

yes her multiclass is so bad due to the +1 wound per ability. i'm not sure why obsidian is making that. i guess the whole reason they are going the dragon age path? IIRC latter dragon age game only allow the MC to be awesome. the other companions will never be as good as the MC. this was different in poe1 where every companion can be powerful (if you know how to build them right).

i played exactly like you. except i have multi-classed her (which is really a bad option). her buffs are really good. also.. make her corrupted seems more like a better choice? as the damage buffs for all party. also, im not sure if skill buffs (religion/alchemy/intimidate/etc.) have they been nerfed? seems like putting alot of points don't yield good result.

balance is good especially early and mid game. i don't mind late game being slightly overpowered. a complete balance game in single player games are boring obsidian. imagine no one will be posting builds as nothing is good. this on the other hand is different if the game has multiplayer component. ideally, my hope is that player decision (whatever build and multiclass that player decides) should be equally good. but this don't seems to be the case. also i find that many subclasses are really meh. the penalty is far worst than the benefits it's getting. i do hope you can spend time in buffing some builds and not just nerfs whichever popular builds that was posted by community which is your best talent in doing so

This random encounter neketaka bug. I'm suspecting i use the default reactivity and that cause random encounter not triggering. Can anyone share me their saved games (poe1) with GOTM and most important i need Devil of Carroc armor to be available in the game. If your imported saved games (from poe1) does not have the neketaka random encounter bug, that will be great so i can help verify if it's going to fix the issue. Devs (have been going silence for many reported bugs). Perhaps they couldn't find the root cause. So thanks in advance for any help!.
