  1. Who said anything about public you little undiagnosed perv?
  2. Speaking of meters away: is it just me or can you zoom out more than in beta1 (and maybe beta2)?
  3. Josh mentioned FTL as inspiration for ship battle in one of his latest interviews.
  4. Backstab's better with a melee two hander - because you can command the attack out of stealth and it doesn't matter if you unstealth on the way. With ranged weapons you will have to sneak up to 2 meters and then command the attack. If you unstealth on the way to that 2 meter distane you won't get Backstabs. Also, with a melee weapon you'll allways get two successive auto-attack Backstabs (two successive auto attacks get the +150% bonus - the first one even Sneak Attack Bonus. If you use a special attack like Blinding Strike then only that attack gets the bonus, the second one NOT). With a gun this is not possible because you'd die while reloading and switching doesn't work with Backstab (second attack after switching doesn't get the bonus). Exception: Twin Sting! Shoot two times without reloading should give you two shots with backstab bonus. Never tested though! Weapons that are cool with Backstab: - Tall Grass (because of reach): you can just wait in stealth (need 6 to 8 stealth or so) until the enemy connects with your front line and then poke them with two backstabs from reach, being safe. Did such a rogue, was fun. Also the prone proc is fun of course. - Tidefall: sneak up and deal Backstab + Sneak Attack damage for a massive amount of raw wounding damage and also draining. A rogue with Tidefall, high MIG, low INT and high CON actually becomes quite sturdy (for a rogue with no other healing sources). Did such a rogue as "caster killer", was fun. - Firebrand: does not work from stealth since the summoning breaks it, but if you summon it and then go invisible (Cape, Shadowing Beyond etc.) then this is totally bananas. Especially if your party members managed to unlock Deathblows on the target for you. Damage numbers above 150 no problem... Only tested this but didn't really play for long (need Firebrand on Barbarian, Bleak Walker or Cipher instead ). For backstabbing dragons surely Tidefall would be best.
  5. https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/eotens#English [smarty-pants on] It's not a word made up by fantasy literature, so there's a rule already. [pants off!]
  6. It totally breaks the game. Nobody in their right mind can want this.
  7. Funny. I totally forgot that I said that. Can't even remember now that this was an issue. It may very well still be the case that it doesn't work. I now remember that I once did an unarmed druid and maybe discovered this bug - and then forgot.
  8. Instead it sucked? Thought I was getting a leaf blower and instead I got a vacuum cleaner.
  9. What do you mean? Hits with fists (and Novice's Suffering) will not trigger Avenging Storm (the 8th level druid spell) or what? Never heard of that, no idea to be honest. Or do you mean if Novice's Suffering works with Spiritshift weapons (which they still not do - it's intended)?

  11. He will certainly not learn to play the banjo or something. You can switch weapons as you like. There are plenty of two handers. But the purpose of all weapons is to crush skulls basically.
  12. Just tested: Barbaric Blow still does a Full Attack (offhand strikes first, main hand follows) with the newest game version (in my case 3.7.0.1318 PX1 PX2 PX4 - steam) on Windows and also on Linux. If you use the console version of PoE then you'll have to go to the Paradox support forum - because Obsidian did not develop/port the console version of PoE, nor do they offer support for it. 13. It always worked for me as Full Attack. Either this is a recent problem or something else is going on. Did the enemy eventually die after the first (primary) attack? I will just now load up PoE and try it on a barb. Brb... By the way? What game version, which platform?
  14. Since I always finish off the statues first I never encountered this. I totally forgot that he can do this.
  15. Not really. It's just a slider for the overall game speed. I hope you can make it really, really fast. I hate it when you have to run around doing "bring-X-from-A-to-B-quests" in a town and the guys are running sooo slowly. "A walk in the park - like steps in the quark"...
  16. Yes, I like it as well. Also throwing an explosive, using any non-weapon-related ability (Lay on Hands for example) should be faster (animation time, not necessarily recovery time).
  17. It's a scaling, quite powerful summon which you can boost with talents and that costs 1 bond and can be resummoned as long as you have bond. It's basically like a chanter's summons but with more customisation. Summons in general are powerful - just because they can be used as blockers, bait/cannon fodder and so on. One thin I didn't test: I guess you can't summon your animal companion AND other summons as a Ghost Heart/Wizard or /Chanter. Usually you only can have one active summon per char on the field. a ranger with a "normal" animal companion can combine summons + pet for even more body blocking.
  18. RES at 10 would be my approach. High DEX - depends how often one uses Torment's Reach. Since it's a Full Attack you can do with less DEX if you use it a lot. Also DEX isn't benefical for retaliation. I think I would leave it at 10 or so as well - your Reflex will be good because of Weapon & Shield Style. I'd focus more on MIG, CON, PER and INT.
  19. But if you import into Deadfire: wouldn't you want to have Edér & Aloth in the party as well? I mean they are the ones that will make a reappearence as companion in Deadfire after all, together with Pallegina. Or just doing their quests and then park them in the stronghold? Tidefall on a barbarian is pretty good. AoE draining + wounding = lots of fun. For a fighter I like dual wielding better because of Knockdown (Full Attack) and later Charge (finishes with a Full Attack - without animation - at the target).
  20. Backstab is also very good in the early game - but not with stiletto but pike or quarterstaff. I would try Azureith's Stiletto + Oidreacht and hope that the draining helps with surviving and that Jolting Touch helps with the Paladins (plate is weak against shock damage). But you'd have to rush to Maerwald before going to Raedric... hmm... Survival for a dw rogue is tricky in the early game. Veteran's Recovery could help but there will still be health issues. And maybe you don't want to use it at all on a stiletto guy (doesn't fit?). I guess a bigger front line (3 chars) + CC + staying behind and attack when it's save will do the trick most of the time. Also Paladins: they have plate and thus 12 DR. With Vulnerable Attack your stilettos will have 8 bypass which makes a huge difference. So I would try to take Vulnerable Attack asap and combine it with Crippling + Blinding Strike.
  21. Priest is more fun and more powerful I'd say. You can simply pick up the companions in the order you meet them (Aloth-Edér-Durance-Kana-Sagani) and stay with them. Except that I'd swap out Sagani and take in Pallegina in Defiance Bay. You could also drop Durance because you are the priest. But honestly two priests are better than one. It's great if you can cut buffing time in half because first priest can cast one buff while the second priest casts the other. Also, priests can be awesome damage dealers. Other way round: Bleak Walker with pistol or arquebus for FoD is quite nice. Second slot could be sword + Outworn Buckler. I know I repeat myself, but Firebrand is awesome for FoD with a Bleak Walker. Also fits the magran theme - fire and all. You can easily change companions during a playthrough. If you let them do adventures and then pick them up from time to time (to do their quests for example) they won't fall behind in terms of XP.
  22. It's good. You would land exactly at 0 recovery. Spelltongue's Speed bonus doesn't stack with other speed bonuses like Frenzy, DAoM and so on - but since rogues don't have such speed boosts anyways (except potions & drugs) it doesn't matter.
