  1. I did a barb ultimate run (only minimal kiting or split-pulling after early game) and it went pretty well until I died of a stupid bug with Battle Forged + Second Wind (killing myself with 100 retaliation burn damage instead of healing myself...). I was fighting pathetic pale elves in Noonfrost and had already killed Alpine and Adra Dragon. That was kinda sad... Thaos is pretty easy in my book. It's the later WMII bounties that are so hard for me with a rogue (and fighter, too). No problem with Priest/Chanter/Wizard/Druid and whatnot. It's about the rogue being the least useful class in PoE on PotD. You can have another opinion of course, but this is mine. Look at the druid in PoE: better single target melee dps than most rogues in the late game due to Avenging Storm while shifted and awesomest CC and AoE damage with spells. He doesn't even need the high ACC of rogues because most enemies just stand there stunned, sometimes even petrified. I would like the rogue to be better in PoE - but for me he's not. Only against disabled bosses, but that's not enough for me.
  2. So true. Sadly a Shapeshifter can't use Taste of the Hunt on top of boar's wounding. Only reason why I don't use Shapeshifter that much. Taste of the Hunt is ridiculously good in Deadfire atm.
  3. Yes. I played a Skald/Mage Slayer with that phrase and it's quite nice once you realize what it actually does.
  4. The defense bonus is higher in Deadfire. Gilded Enmity gives you +4 AR and "breaks" apart after a certain amount of hits (or damage? Not sure anymore). It lasts a long time in a full party if you're not the only one who gets pummeled.
  5. They don't. Only melee or ranged weapon attacks (including Blast). Basically like a cipher.
  6. Oh, I totally missed the Swift Flurry nerf. Still cascading though. With enough enemies in range you can still get one-shot-wipes. Try one-handed Minor Blights... Especially with Confounding Blind (applied by somebody else in an AoE - like a Trickster/Priest of Wael or so) you get a chain reaction as soon as the train is rolling. Heart of Fury is something else than Cleaving Attack because it triggers Carnage on every hit as well. Vengeful Defeat would be an appropriate comparison I guess. But yes, it's good. Especially solo of course. Did you try the Upgrade of Barbaric Blow (0 recovery on kill or refund on kill) with Cleaving Stance yet? I imagine hat could be cool as well?
  7. Yes, a Nature Godlike can easily get his power levels while a Death Godlike puts him/herself at risk. A higher bonus would only be fair.
  8. They are totally LGBT now and are pushing the SJW agenda and stand on one leg and also eat vegan fair trade gurkens! Nay I say!
  9. With things like Clear Out you want high INT, too. But since the AoE formula for INT is weakened and stuff like Knockdown doesn't cause a disable anymore I'd also say that INT is less useful in Deadfire for fighters and in general. But I wouldn't dump it either.
  10. Really? I tested both Cleaving Stance and Swift Flurry excessively (solo) and I think Swift Flurry has a lot more potential than Cleaving Stance. Combining both is fun.
  11. It's so sad that nobody reads... like words... in whole sentences... these days. Let's make a new poll: "Did you really read this properly?" A: "No" B:"melee weapon".
  12. It's very situational. But as I said you can kind of abuse it with Barring Death's Door and such. I would have liked a fear aura or something like that.
  13. Deep Wounds was like that (no stacking) in PoE as well. As was Envenomed Strike and some other raw damage effects. Wounding Shot stacked but was only a primary attack.
  14. I agree that it was the least useful class from the mid to late game. Besides picking locks, disarming traps and skipping fights with invisibility when soloing... But whatever - it suffers from frontloading. The Deadfire passives for rogue are pretty uninspired as well. But I have hopes that this times high level abilities of rogues will be better. Smoke Cloud is already a ton better than in PoE.
  15. They don't, but you can stack Wildstrike + Lighting lashes and the faster attack speed is great for a shifter who can't have a lot of gear, too. It's a nice combo. My favorite is still Monk/Wizard.
  16. They scale with level, have ok base acc and can buffed. Summons in Deadfire are awesome. They shred Titan and Saints alike. Of course there is some grazing, missing and No Pen - but they just keep hacking till it's over. @dunehunter: yes, 5 Beckoner/Rangers can have 30 summons + 5 animal companions on the field. Pretty crowded - especially once the skellies split into two BIGGER skeletons after death. Yes, that bug's still in.
  17. It was like that with every "wounding" labeled attack in PoE (boar, Tidefall, Drawn in Spring, Persistence, Acuan Giamas). Intended. Would fall far behind cat form if not.
  18. Yes, something is weird. Do Soul Annihilation with Spirit Lance and the function goes totally haywire where nothing matches up anymore.
  19. Rogues are not so bad. You just have to use rod+Blast with Arterial Strike as an alpha strike to punish every enemy for moving around severerly or use a blunderbuss with Confounding Blind to drop an enemy's deflection into negative regions. And that's no multiclassing, single class. I have to admit that those are pretty gimmicky uses though... However, rogue (or assassin) with Backstab and invisibily few times per encounter is effective and fun. Also, Deep Wounds is way better than in PoE. All in all I agree that rogues have too many active abilities and not enough good passives. But maybe that will be different after lvl 9. It's not even half of the level range we can see in the beta. Fighter's active attack abilites I always found quite meh in the beta - now they can get Charge more early which is good. Disciplined Barrage + Strikes Upgrade is one of the top abilites of the game - due to how strong Intuitive as an inspiration is. So in my opinion you don't need to nerf Disciplined Strikes, you have to nerf Intuitive. If you want to develop a ridiculous tank you can multiclass paladin with fighter. Paladins have even better defensive capabilites which match pretty well with the fighter's, creating a great synergy (defensive-wise). But the craziest thing still for tanking is Blade Turning. Funnily, nobody complains about that.
  20. I think it's a leftover from PoE where animal companion's had no health pool and were used to trigger traps all the time. So they removed that "feature". In Deadfire there is no health mechanic like in PoE, so this "nerf" is kind of pointless I guess...?
  21. I don't know if the actual (auto) attack itself will be counted as fire even if the weapon is tagged. Don't know the code... Well however - they could make a first step and tag the spells appropriately.
  22. Or - don't give them DOUBLE the amount of summons? I mean 6 skeletons... They could have given him different summons (more powerful creatures) or +1 summon or whatever. 6 is already their own dance party... I would have made one of the tanks a Devoted/Skald just for Mith Fyr on the skeletons and Killers Froze Stiff on the enemies. The other tank would have used Shared Flames. Did he?
