Good point. Usually you don't need the poison because everything's dead from the direct damage when using mortars + Whispers + Resonant Touch. And it only works with melee weapons. But yes - especially if enemies don't stand that near to another and/or if you don't use any AoE weapon with Whispers of the Wind and like the "vibe" of the Mask this could be cool. You could also try Lover's Embrace and see if multiple DoTs of it stack. Like Battle Axes' Bleeding Cuts do. Those are also very nice with Whispers of the Wind. Another weapon that works really well by the way is Watershaper's Focus. Like Dual Mortars basically - only primary attack but jumps one time and triggers Ondra's Wave on crit. The advantage of AoE weapons with Whispers of the Wind is that a) Avenging Storm will hit so many times (no matter the weakness of every individual hit) that it also might kill all enemies and b) that every hit over a certain threshold will generate a Resonant Touch which will then apply flat raw dmg. So it's more about the sheer number of hits you generate and not that much about damage per hit (also nice of course, but in this case with the mortars or rod not no. 1 priority).

Not yet. Still playing it. It's not that complicated though. It's a single class ranged Helwalker with dual mortars using Whispers of the Wind and Resonant Touch. Power Surge is only there to add more jumps for Whispers of the Wind. And the rest is pretty standard (Lightning Strikes, Enduring Dance). You can also empower Whispers of the Wind to add more jumps: Or add Avenging Storm with Heaven's Cacophony: An additional trick here is to use a Cloak that stuns enemies if you attack out of stealth or invisibility - because Whispers of the Wind makes you invisible.

The weapon is nice. It couldn't quite compete during testing sessions when you look at sustained damage but it's not bad. The modal of Great Swords gives you +30% bonus damage I think, not +15%? And it means -10 accuracy? Since you want to crit as often as possible with Karabörü you wouldn't want to use the modal - which makes it rather pointless in my opinion. However - the already high PEN of a Devoted/Berserker is enough to deal with the low base PEN of Great Swords, it has dual damage and it looks fantastic (for me that's important as well). It's also easy to get. So overall I think it's a nice alternative. Also Sanguine Great Sword can be good because it heals you - which can be important on a Berserker. Twin Eels as well as somebody else proposed earlier. Do not use Voidwheel! Another very strong weapon is Engoliero do Espirs - if it wouldn't come so late that would be my no. 1 despite the single damage type. The Harvest enhantment is so powerful...

Summonend creatures scale with char level, not Power Level. Only summoning duration will increase with Power Level. So don't empower a summoning invocation. It's def. not worth it. Empower an offensive invocation or a healing one, that's a better use of your empower points. So yeah, summons do scale will with multiclass Chanters.

The best pick mechanically would be paladin or priest as MC because both profit from the correct dispositions. Priest gets a stronger Holy Radiance and Paladin gets a stronger Faith and Conviction. Priests are considered to be the strongest class in PoE so the answer could be MC priest. But if it's also the most fun for you...? I personally like PoE Priests as MC. They can be awesome supporters as well as damage dealers.

In case of Berserker I'd say Brute is pretty good because first of all less Power Level means less self damage and also the healings of the Fighter helps to counter the high self damage even more. Single class Berserker is better on the higher levels when speaking about offense (in my opinion) but you have to get there and Devoted + Berserker (= insane PEN, higher crit damage, higher crit rate, Cleaving Stance, more resources from two pools etc.) is fun and great during the whole playthrough. I did a Berserker/Devoted as first MC and now have played several single class Barbs. I can recommend both. Maybe in your case I would stick to Brute. Just a feeling though.

Great. Good combo, especially when wearing Devil of Caroc + Helm of the Falcon. Great looks, great item synergy and no Confusion. You can get Willbreaker from Crookspur pretty early if you have a good sneaker. Or just pick up Saru Sichr from Arkemyr's Manor until you are good enough for Crookspur - this can be done as soon as you get to Nekataka.

Single class monks are nice and all. But that doesn't mean you have to praise them in every single thread no matter if it fits or not. Seriously: you come up with two monks as strikers while the OP asks how to improve his healing. "What's the best way to heal?" "Take two single class monks as strikers because Whispers of the Wind and Iron Wheel are great. Also: Herald!" Sweet sweaty Jesus...

Not the damage from overpenetration, but the threshold for overpenetration (2x armor) and bonus from critical hits (1.5x penetration). I like how those behave at the beginning of the game or when you're still in fine equipment, but late game with legendary gear and max level enemies neither of those functions all that well. I think it'd work better with, say, +2(3?) pen on crit and +3(4?) pen over armor for overpen, or similar - something that made it work consistently throughout the game. Ah, ok. Thanks for the clarification!

Who seriously states that the mechanics of BG are better than PoE's (no matter if I or II) is either trapped in nostalgia dreamworld or has no clue at all. Story and overall experience is hard to judge. My "involvement" with the story of BG I and II was certainly more intense and I was more impressed. I still remember parts of the game's dialogues as if it was yesterday. But I was younger, less experienced and more naive. Easily impressed. I also had much more time to play. And yet I didn't even finish a second playthrough with BG and BG II while I did countless with PoE and several with Deadfire. I restarted BG a lot. But once the story was told it was over for me.

You don't need to use it if party members are near. It makes not that much of a difference in this case anyway. I fact I don't use it at all with a monk - only accidentally. Or when enemies stand in a pack, are vulnerable to fire and no friends are near. The AoE of Mortars works very well with Stunning Surge, Flagellant's Path and Resonant Touch. That is important because you get Whispers of the Wind so late that you want some cool stuff for "in between" and not get starved on fun actions.

Lots of players (over)stated that Herald are very strong in the beta phase of Deadfire. Including me. And they are still top notch. Stacking Mith Fyr + Shared Flames for boosting party's dps, giving party-wide passive healing via Ancient Memory + Exalted Endurance while stacking AR and being tsnkyas heck. It's easy to build and easy to play. Look at the oldest builds in the build list and you will see Heralds. That's not new and nothing that became obvious just because you dropped the term "herald" in every of your last 10 posts. I mean if you want to promote Heralds because you think they are not recognized enough then please go ahead - I just don't think it's necessary.
