Barbarian retaliation does raw damages. As retaliation damages tends to be low, I think it is noticeable. More reliable than rooting pain IMHO. How skyward reach could be stunning blow on steroids ??? It's not full attack, and only cause Prone while Stun is better. It is stricty bader than Stunning Blows... or did I miss something ? Do you realize Aegis of Loyalty is the only way of dissipating mind control spells ? (Except charming back) Did you read the complete description ?

Honnestely, when a fighter with Knockdown meets a foe with Prone immunity, it's annoying. When cipher meets a foe with a given immunity, he just use a different power. Vary the status effects of the power you choose and you won't have any troubles. There's about 20% foes immune to a given status. You won't find many foes with too many immunities at a time. There is a certain (optionnal) boss immune to paralysis, stun and resistant to prone. Use charm/dominate/confuse, pure damage powrers, or simply target his annoying minions. That's the only time I experienced frustration about immunities. Eventually, it wasn't so bad. I played on PotD with melee cipher by the way. Consider that melee weapons deal about 1.5 times more damages than ranged. Melee is more dangerous, less flexible, but certainly not less efficient. You can still bring a big gun for first strike.

Distraction is also 6 less defense for target. Stacking. So it is like +6 accuracy for the whole party against rogue's target. Stacking. Deathblows are also activated by Flanking + distracted. Very nice. As a result, it sounds like most convenient rogue ability ever And rather fun too. I tried shadow step yesterday. Basically transfer your rogue to (close) position for around 8s. 1/encounter I found this rather bad.

Therefore, to summarize what I think about martial class now : Fighter got 2 interesting tools : charge and immunity. It's still not vert clear for me how immunity works, but they look very potent. Fighters lacked a bit gamechanging powers. So it's good news. Barbarian got some good abilities. Retaliation is a really nice passive, especially when used with DR and heal. Blood thirst is basically an useful variant of bloodlust. Good for killing trash mobs, no idea about its usefulleness against more serious mob. As barbarians tend to have meh abilities, I feel relieved that they got decent one(s). Ranger heal pet stuff seems lame. It does not compet with paladin equivalent for raw values, and are not even applicable to other NPC. The vengeance stuff seems a gimmick. Firearm modal looks fun, but can't used with twin arrows : it opens new paths but don't make the class stronger. Paladin new abilities are quite circonstacial. The anti-confusion friend-slap seems the best ability of the game against this threat. Not much raw power neither, but after Immolation, paladin needed a pause in their power curve. Rogue new abilities looks nice but not crazy. I have to test them Monk new stuff seems to have some potential but need to be tested : currently, it's hard for me to figure how powerful they are.

Sorry for not being very descriptive. Are reaping knives considered as dual wield ? Won't reaping knives delivered a chrismas package of focus if used by a barbarian using heart of fury ? Even more if they are considered as dual wield...
