  1. Never noticed poison effect being so dangerous. That's why I never had a moutain dwarf in my party. There's a couple spells with poison effects, but I never really noticed them from ennemies. Spiders tend to poison you a lot, but damage are not impressive.
  2. Come on, most people here play PotD but we are absolutelty not representative of real players. Story Mode is a mode for "gothic but not gamer girlfriend", "little brother" or "daddy with time devourer monster in the craddle" or any casual player who just can't haunt thid forum in order to understand if durgan steel stack with alacrity. PoE is not very difficult but with little game knowledge it tends to be very tedious, especially in the beginning.
  3. Speed potion, biggest healing one (always useful to avoid dying of attrition), resurrection scrolls. Scroll of protection against certain afflictions are mandatory for certain encounters if you don't have a priest to cast them. Scroll in general are awesome to compensate for the lack of casters (moonwell, AoE healing, scroll of defense) or to add versatility to your martial class (missile scrolls with your ranger with penetrating shots, paralysis scrolls for everybody). Scroll of valor is also mandatory as it provides what no priest can do : +15 base accuracy, which is about 10 accuracy more that any other AoE Acc boost. Stack with devotion of the faithful. Better to have 1 room for scrolls of valor, than 1 emplacement per character for Eldricht Aim potion. Finally, void slot is nice too as Nature's bounty will fill it with a very powerful potion.
  4. I think I know pretty well how buff stack (there are rules, even if they are cryptic) but debuff are a total mystery. Why stat debuff from sickened and weakness stacks while defenses debuff from the same conditions don't ? From the list above, what would cause the suppression ? I'll be very curious.
  5. Wood elf are number 1 for all ranged builds. Hearth Orlan are good for melee, but there's a lot of contest then. Fire and Moon godlikes are super powreful but you sacrifice helm. I think it worth it for some builds.
  6. I don't know... They seem to care... remember the paladin patch... the 2.0 ranger... I believe they did a pretty much good job till now. Even in PotD. I'm playing both rogue and barbarian in PotD right now and they do their job quite efficiently. Class balance in a party game without PvP isn't meant to be as strict as in MOMRPG. What is needed is that each class should be the best at filling its role in a party, and this role shouldn't be too specific.
  7. Please, what the hell kinda post is that. I mean, really, "many abilities [...] are not that good." , that's your whole argument here ? Perhaps you could detail which abilities and how they are not good ? Every class has abilities that "are not good" to be honest. While I agree rogues could use more love because they're super squishy for very questionable DPS relative to other classes, you really need to work on your argument here o_O You're right. I admit I've relied on what I said on previous threads, in particular, The Great Rogue Polishing Thread that I published some times ago. I'm pretty happy that what I said in the rogue topic was (usually) approved by viewers. I'll try to group my views in a new thread soon, as my opinions about barbarians and rogues seem to be (mostly) shared.
  8. And 10 accuracy, dude. Your powergamerness should scream for some flagellant workouts. It's eventually better for you that there's no whip in this game...
  9. DPS paladin seems to be a recurring obsession since the beginning of PoE. The point is that the class is not suited to do that. There are some Sniper paladin build around here (Pallegina being the best) but not reallt melee knight to do so. Abandon your idea of a DPS knight, or just choose another class to do so like an armed monk maybe. Dual wielding for FoD full attack might have some potential, and vent pick FoD seems to work with FoD talents (?) so there might be a bit of potential in this direction.
  10. Because I never use the Radiance ability anyway, and because it doesn't stack with Scroll of Valor which I use all the time. A matter of play style, really; definitely a viable talent for this build if you use Radiance and don't (ab)use Scroll of Valor like I do. Are you sure about this ? Passive talents added to active abilities usually stack with everything. And if I remember well, this was confirmed for inspiring radiance.
  11. The fox hits as hard as a wolf, so you should take all the pet boosting talents : resilient, vicious, mercyless companion, and predator's senses. You need a DoT in your party to apply predator's sense bonus reliably. A chanter with Dragon slashed chant would be perfect.
  12. Frightened may be the weakest of all status, and 12s, even with Int is not that much. Terrified is not that better. Basically the duration and range are ok. Per rest is really annoying by the way. Also there's a bunch of ennemies immuned to both. Basically, I don't like barbarians trying to do casters'job in a less versatile and powerful way. Threatening presence is nice because it's a passive with no time limit. THAT is something casters can't do. Fast casting shouts would be nice as an unique advantage.
  13. And a bit more deflection. Yes, I think it's rhe idea. What shows this is that the top level 8 spell, avenging storm, seems to be designed as a spellsword spell.
  14. Dazing like a lvl 1 wizard and weak shouts (too long to cast) don't exactly makes the class good. I already quoted threatening presence as a good ability. But that's about it.
  15. I don't think barbarians require more single target DPS. But just a bit of alternate utilities as endgame abilities would be nice. Currently they... daze about as well as a level 1 wizard. And as I said I don't think this is such a huge problem.
  16. Also the mystic cloak now working could be seen as a buff. I didn't want to use the cloak because it breaked the game. Now, it simply enables an extra backstab.
  17. Perception for damage dealing is rather inferior to might. Perception starts getting better for CC/debuff or interrupt Per should stay at 10 for paladin.
  18. The bash DPS calculation gimme headache. You're never sure you're not gimping yourself.
  19. I suspect avenging storm on stag druid to be the lolest combo of the game. Primordials from level 7 seems to be good meat shield. Ice ooze triggers petrify on death. My main problem with druid summon is that they are random. Nature's bounty is good but frankly annoying to use. Basically druid tier are not equal : Tier 1, 4, 5 are awesome. Tier 2, 3, 6, 8 are ok. Tier 7 is not very good. A single very basicacid storm at level 7 would have been nice. It seems that the devs thought druid should not been nukers anymore at high level.
  20. Well maybe. For some reasons I like knockdown. But as I said in my previous post : that's subjective.
  21. Paladin and chanter have similar purposes with different abilities. A bit like monk and fighter, or ranger and rogue. Chanter has better damage potential by the way, due to fire lash and dragon AoE damage chant. They are also a bit more versatile, especially for crowd control.
  22. The other problem is that rogue is not completely adapted to the rest of your party. Fighter, monk and cipher are 3 single target DPS ! They might be inferior to rogue for this, but they will surely do the job. Rogue work best with 2 tank and 1 offtank (or just another guy that takes some hits). Maybe by putting Durance with a shield, average armor and hid beasty resolve on the frontline, you'll have less problem to make rogue work...
  23. Immolation for AoE damage and constant healing. Best single target heals of the game (lay on hand and reviving exhortations). The above are their main unique advantages. They also have increased resistance compared to chanter (or anyone). Sworn ennemy make them compete with cipher or fighter for weapon damage, but only against 1 ennemy (I think a support character does not have to kill more than 1 ennemy to provide ok contribution). Other picks depend on your tastes. Also have a look at paladin's order talent.
  24. You might have lacked 1 melee guy to share risk with rogue. You'll still need 1 more melee guy to protect your squishies. I'll say paladin or chanter indeed. Listen to your heart and go chanter.
