warhammer 40k: rogue trader
Trying to wait for the first expansion or whatever they're calling it to start a new game. Maybe I'll go finish one of my abandoned runs... or boot up Wrath.

You might like Andor as I've heard it's a genuinely good show as opposed to a good for a Star Wars show. I have no interest because no laser swords and space magic but that's what I've heard.

Caramelized onion soup. I used a mix of marrow and soup bones to make my base this time and that really paid off well.

Watched Mulan and Damsel. Mulan was first up because we do a movie night with my son most Saturdays, last week was as Moana, which he enjoyed. My wife had never seen Mulan either and both her and my son ended up loving it. After the kids went to bed we watched Damsel and some stand-up that I don't remember anything about. I had fun with Damsel and the standup made me chuckle at the marriage stuff but I can't remember the name of the guy for some reason. E: it was Steve Trevino. I can recommend him to any married folks easily but not sure if it'll land as well for single folks.

Food Thread - Those that eat
Finished my wife's birthday weekend by making beef Wellington with a bacon and mushroom pate and serving that with fondant potatoes and a simple salad.

Pasta carbonara. I used guanciale for the meat. I also made anchovy bread crumbs with some panko and anchovy paste. Mixed it up and toasted it and sprinkled it on top with a small dollop of chopped calabrian chili and a couple of cranks on the black pepper grinder.

What are you Playing Now? - Back to the Grind
More CoH. I got better. It turns out that I should read what the game is telling me. Actually slotting enhancements and upgrading them made a metric bushel of a difference. Does power set matter that much? I've been looking but I'm not really seeing anything that breaks down the differences and tradeoffs.

What are you Playing Now? - Back to the Grind
More CoH. These missions or whatever this game calls quests are getting longer and longer and I don't think I like it. I've been dying a lot as I'm still getting used to the controls, that's the excuse I'm going with anyway. Maybe I need to try a completely different style of character.

Cinema and Movie Thread: coming at you at 24fps
I think Dune is the only movie of his that I've seen. My first intro to Dune was the Lynch movie and that was followed by a few Dune video games, then I read the book. Don't get me wrong, I did actually like the movie, but I'm really easy... just ask my wife. Still, the vibe I got was cold and sterile... mechanical even. I'm not a great critic so I'll just stop trying to explain.

What? He made Arrakis look so cold and sterile. What's not to love?

I'm on Torchbearer on CoH:Homecoming. I'm only level 4 so I have no problem starting over on a different server if you're playing on a different one.

I saw a City of Heroes server got officialized so I'm giving it a shot. Making a blaster but have been stuck on which power set to choose for like an hour.

Cinema and Movie Thread: coming at you at 24fps
I've never been able to get into Borderlands and over the years I've figured out that I just can't Diablo in any form. It looks like Crazy Enough to Work: The Movie and I'll probably check it out whenever it comes to a streaming service I have. I feel kinda bad but that's my default state for all movies nowadays and I didn't mean it as a strike against this one in particular.

I loved both Dragonfall and Hong Kong and it was Returns that was hard for me to get through. I'm curious if HBS has tried/is trying to make a 4th Shadowrun game now that they are independent again since I doubt Microsoft would let them keep making their licensed games under Paradox. But what do I know*? *A lot but not that
