  1. Spurs and Suns game last night was amazing. I got my wife into fantasy basketball and now she's like all about it. I've created a monster. PS, still can't watch the Nuggets play in Denver. Altitude made a deal with some streamer but they charge like 75 bucks a month on the cheapest tier.
  2. Power went out and Jehovah's Witnesses came to our door. Not saying they're related but also can't rule it out. Not my death cult of choice anyways.
  3. Welp https://www.ign.com/articles/vampire-the-masquerade-bloodlines-2-reveals-its-main-character-phyre-the-elder-kindred They're going the Mass Effect route of a set but customizable PC with their own background and history. Also, 4 clans in the base game with a supposed day 1 DLC adding a fifth and plans for a future sixth. I'm already down on the game so this doesn't move the needle for me. Will probably wait to see if anyone here gets it and see how they feel about it. PS, how does a thinblood end up in the head of an elder?
  4. Carne asada nachos. I made tacos yesterday and the leftovers decided for themselves that their next form should be nachos.
  5. Son was super excited to show up to preschool in his ninja turtle outfit but the teachers were making all the kids take off their costumes. I would have been okay with it if they had said no costumes but they didn't and their objection to them was that some of the teachers are kooky religious types and it offends them. I forgot how wacko some of the people there are. It's the only highly rated bilingual preschool in town or else I'd pull him out and put him in a different preschool. The owner assures us that they don't teach their beliefs to the children but she's got weird opinions on vaccines so not sure I trust her.
  6. Snowed in so I made a soup out of whatever I had. Potatoes, sausage, peppers, onions, garlic, celery, chicken and veggie broth, and spices. Added a little milk and lemon juice to finish. Turned out pretty great but sausage and potatoes so the deck was stacked in my favor.
  7. Joker opens the season with a triple double in a win over the Lakers.
  8. For reference because that might be an obscure reference for many even though it kind of explains it in the article
  9. Ja Rule Says Drake, DJ Khaled Not Obligated to Speak On Israel ... - TMZ https://amp.tmz.com/2023/10/11/ja-rule-drake-dj-khaled-dj-vlad-israel-hamas/ I know everyone was curious on Ja Rule's take
  10. Israel is going hard on Gigi Hadid.
  11. I also highly recommend a microwave cover. Saved me so much cleaning. I should probably get a collapsible one though for easier storage as mine is a dome. I usually do my capers in the air fryer but I do sometimes make them in the microwave as well if the air fryer is in use.
  12. We've been watching a lot of Beat Bobby Flay who I call Roberto Flavor. He wins an awful lot even with visiting chefs having the advantage of picking what they make. Been watching for ideas on what to make because things have been a bit stale. The other day I made a Cesar salad with baby romaine and crispy fried capers.
  13. All the WoT talk in the TV thread reminded me that I have like 2 books in Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series to read still.
  14. This is my son's favorite song.. this week Don't worry, he's never seen the video
  15. They decided to patch the beta after all so I'm downloading the game again.
  16. Maybe they can get MS to hook them back up with Shadowrun. My dream is a Shadowrun game by Obs but that's never going to happen so gimme more Shadowrun Returns goodness.
  17. They made 3 or 4 tiny incisions along her abdomen. This is how I pictured it
  18. Been a rough few days but things are getting better. Surgery was a success and the patient lived, 2 for 2.
  19. My retirement plan is the same as most people I know, die before retirement age. Local politics but we have a 3 way race for mayor. That sucks for me because now I actually have to look into the candidates instead of doing what I normally do and just vote the opposite of a super conservative neighbor. This neighbor once told me they knew the election was stolen because they've never seen anyone in a Biden hat. Wasn't the first time I'd heard that, just didn't expect it in real life. City actually has a ton of info available this year and I didn't have to do much digging.
  20. Health issues on the homefront, wife has to get her gallbladder removed tomorrow morning. Not really that crazy except that yesterday, when we got the news, was my late mom's birthday. She died of pancreatic cancer 6 months after first being misdiagnosed with gallbladder issues. Not the same at all but because of the day that's where my mind was at. It was a something
  21. Yeah, one of the first things I did was grab a mod for that in JA3
  22. This plus Has certain folks in my family circles hitting the conspiracy sauce hard.
