US Presidential Elections - 2024 edition
I feel like people are forgetting or not caring that Trump killed all efforts to fix this because he wanted to run on it And as far as the low turnout, I wonder how much of it had to do with efforts to limit voting. I don't just mean purging voter rolls but also limiting voting places and ballot boxes. I'm not sure that I'd stand in line for 6 hours to vote.

US Presidential Elections - 2024 edition
I have no idea what they do when they arrive in person as I've never voted in California but I think they get mostly get their ballots mailed to them and then they mail them back or have drop boxes like we do in Colorado. But please, please refer to my first post. Do you really think hundreds of thousands or millions of illegal immigrants, for the first time ever, are going to put themselves under extra scrutiny and risk serious charges from the government just to go vote? While also having at least the names of just as many people who registered but they know aren't going to show up to vote, otherwise they'd be found out real quick, in a state where it doesn't even matter? Why is this an issue? Is it the principle of the thing or something? I don't get it but I'm genuinely curious. It has never happened in recent history and I have no idea about the beforefore times but I doubt it. If this is now moving to the swing states next then I'm out because please read my first post.

How to get on the voter roll.

US Presidential Elections - 2024 edition
It's a solution to a problem that literally doesn't exist and any extra burdens you start adding have a chilling effect, especially on the groups mentioned. Plus our country has a history of this kind of thing so it's just a new spin on an old classic.

I think he means more like expats that live full time in other countries... Also what's the difference between an expat and an immigrant? Seems like one of those trashy for the poor and classy for the rich things.

Randommer/Interestinglier/Weirder - now more of everything for the same low price!
This is my experience as well and I also grew up in rural farmland. My experience with vegans, or people considering it, is also similar with most that I've met wanting meat substitutes. Speaking only for my non-vegan self, I like a good bean burger for what it is but an impossible burger is just so much more what I usually want and that is heavily processed and not healthy. I've dabbled with different vegetarian persuasions but I always end up coming back to meat, provided that it is cruelty free, or at least much less cruel, I mean nature is ****ing cruel as **** but that doesn't mean we have to be.

US Presidential Elections - 2024 edition
I voted but it's not really a question on which way my state is going to go.

What You've Done Today - Yesterday is but today's memory, and tomorrow is today's dream.
My wife isn't a big fan of shrimp but she always eats a few when I make them but rarely wants much of her own. Usually because it doesn't go with her wine and that's how she likes to plan meals, around the wine. My son claims to love shrimp for some reason because he never eats it when it's actually offered and I'm pretty sure my daughter is a Loki variant. I make them several ways but my favorite is just in a broth of wine, butter, garlic, parsley, kalamata olives, and lemon juice. It was a recipe that my mom used to make for me when I was a kid. I serve it with a big chunk of bread but the kids just like the bread. I typically get shell off and deveined raw shrimp but it depends on what I'm making. Sometimes I'll get them shell on and peel them myself but since nobody here really loves shrimp I feel like that's effort for nothing.

The Kickstarter Thread
I skipped Midnight Suns because of the deck building but I may give it a shot eventually. I have it from some Humble bundles but haven't bothered redeeming it yet. The problem for me is that I have so many games that are pretty close to exactly what I want that I don't really feel the need to really experiment with new things or things I'm on the fence about. I have more games than I have time to play them.

The next 3 closest ones to me closed. We used to go on or around her birthday. I did end up making shrimp and just finished eating, well, when I started typing this a couple hours ago. The kids hated it and my wife isn't a big fan so I finished everyone's plates. They humor me only so far.

The Kickstarter Thread
I'm on the fence about the Pathfinder game and the Pirate game from the BattleTech/Shadowrun guy. I'll probably end up backing both and then never playing either, as is my way.

warhammer 40k: rogue trader
Been a minute but I've been loving the new DLC. I didn't even have to Miracle Max it as it was only slightly broken at launch and there have already been a handful of patches to fix everything.

The TV and Streaming Thread: US Writers/Actors Strike Edition
I went to watch it but I could only rent it for 25 tax non-inclusive warbucks or buy it for 30 tax non-inclusive warbucks. It was free on the plane ride home from Germany but I wasn't in a position to watch it because I was in the middle seat with a baby on my lap and a wife on one shoulder and a son-a-tron on the other.
