Obsidian: could we please fix pickpocketing?
-dib- replied to thelee's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Not really since you could steal directly from many stores in those games and in BG2 you could even exploit that to get infinite money right from the start of the game.

Fampyr Dominating Gaze Bug
-dib- replied to Drum_Warrior's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)I used Gouging Strike, which is supposed to disable the use of gaze attacks, against a Fampyr, from stealth. The attack hit and the additional effect from Gouging Strike critted, but it still used Dominating Gaze on me.

The range bonus from the Druid subclass, Fury, doesn't seem to apply to the Summon Minor Blights spell, which clearly has the Elements tag.- Letting the game do the fighting for you - PoE2 in slacker mode
Click on the “oooooo, shiny!” And than on the character portrait. Didn't even know you could do this... thanks!- My big hope for thiis game is that the soundtrack won't...put me to sleep
I really liked the music in PoE. I remember the first village gave off a really strong Arcanum vibe, for me, another game whose soundtrack I really like, much because of the music.- Combat too complex?
Indeed, I’m all for factions.- Combat too complex?
Agree with the OP. Most of the time, wether I win or lose, I have no idea what’s going on in a fight. Also, it may be an unpopular opinion but I’d like to see a removal of fractions. They make things less readable at a glance, for me at least. But I’m guessing they are used for balancing purposes which seems to precede everything else related to gameplay.- Graphics performance (4K with GTX1080ti)

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I would really like to be able to add abilities that I don't currently have (at least from the class(es) of my character), since I don't want to modify the script every time I level up and select new abilities. AI package creation will only be used by advanced players, who know in advance what abilities they'll pick for their characters, anyway.- Spell schools nitpicking
I agree that some of the spells feel like they have the wrong school but it's obviously for game balance in which case they should rewrite the spell descriptions for those spells to make them actually fit into those spell schools.- Can't quickload "error loading next map" "to prevent save file corruption"
I had the same issue with a savegame from the lowest level of Poko kohara ruins. I just kept trying to load the save and eventually it worked. Not a good solution of course, but maybe a viable work-around until the bug is fixed.- Endgame Ideas- bounties and randomly generated dungeons?
- Please Revert the Might Changes
I really liked the change. Grouping physical and metaphysical strength into one stat made for a lot of awkward dialogue where your scrawny wizard was always referred to as some muscle beast that could bend steel and throw people around like paper bags. Resolve governing spell damage and healing sits a lot better with me.- Casters are still slow...
Yeah, I made an Evoker who primarily used the Minoletta spells, all his other damage spells felt pretty unnecessary. He still fell way behind my other strikers in damage done though (a glass cannon Devoted/Assasin focusing on hit and run tactics and a gun slinging Devoted/Sharpshooter).- Invisible, untargetable = cannot use Lay on hands on self
I guess that's the downside to invisibility - yes, you can sneak in to the girls locker room unnoticed but you can't touch yourself.- Let's gather feedback for AI customization here
I think instead of having like a hundred entries for each resource check (e.g. "At least 2 Discipline") it would be better to be able to set the number in a text box. It would greatly reduce the number of items in the conditionals list.- Various minor issues

- Various minor issues
I just finished my first full beta playthrough and these are some issues I spotted while playing. (more screenshots in the next post since I reached max file size) 1. Inventory items appear jaggy when picked up. 2. Something wrong with Mule Kick description - it shows the text from the last ability you looked at. 3. Custom formations are not saved and resets when you load a save. 4. Opening inventory shows the inventory of the last character's inventory you checked instead of the currently selected character's. 5. Right clicking ability in the AI editor produces some graphical glitches. 6. Hovering over Beza's Toothed Blade only shows quick info about the currently equipped weapon, not Beza's blade.- Backer Beta Update 1: Patch Notes
- Attributes dumping
The PoE system does somewhat discourage stat dumping/spiking, in several ways. 1) By design intent at least, every stat is useful for every character, so if you take any one stat to minimum, you're creating a weakness. 2) If you math out exactly how much additional benefit you get from each additional point of dex/might/per, there are diminishing marginal returns -- you're better off, generally speaking, with more even stats than you are spiking and dumping. (MaxQuest gave an example of this above). Only real exception to both those rules is that Resolve isn't sufficiently useful for non-melee characters but that's a known issue they're working on. There's also a small issue that almost any caster does want to max out Intelligence but generally this isn't a problem because almost everyone who plays a caster wants to do so with max intelligence anyway. Yeah, that's cool. Isn't the issue there that it's currently a lot more attractive to go the CC/support route with casters rather than a damage dealer since damaging spells are pretty lackluster relative to the effort of using them? I'm hoping that will change since I would really like to be able to play a fireball flingin' maniac sometime.- Attributes dumping
I really dislike stat dumping and any game system that doesn't penalize it, encourages it. Which kind of takes the fun out of character creation for me, because I'll have to choose between having a stat line that feels very artificial, unnatural and most of all extremely similar to other characters, or being gimped. Personally I would really like to see the penalties for going below 10 become exponentially harsher. - Portraits II
