  1. It's definitely not a hardware problem; others have been experiencing it as well. For me it occasionally affects waypoint setting for my party - if I click on certain area transitions, left click will be disabled and I have to navigate by right click. The bug is usually resolved by opening/closing the main menu or transitioning to a new area.
  2. I haven't seen any locations aside from perhaps random encounters (and even then, nothing strikes me) that recycle maps. The maps in Deadfire are often small and some inconsequential locations are similar, but I'm pretty sure the majority are unique.
  3. Cuitztli's Herbs in Periki's Overlook (SW area of the map) sells alchemy-related crafting supplies. There's also a godlike merchant in Dunnage who sells gemstones and other items needed for weapon upgrades - come to think of it, there's an herbalist there as well. Otherwise, you shouldn't have any trouble finding crafting items as you progress through quests/explore the world - there's quite a lot of loot
  4. Are you sure about this? Because when I have full ammo for the ship, medical supplies and repair supplies, and pick up more of that, I haven't seen the exess stashed at some other place. He's right. Excess cannon balls, repair items, and medicine do not appear in the stash or ship inventory. Would be interesting to test if you automatically refill to max from excess when you return to a port or something.
  5. Playing on a native 3000x2000 screen with an in-game resolution of 1920x1200. Before the current beta (patch), the game stretched to 3:2 aspect ratio. Since installing the beta, the game maintains 16:10, producing black bars at the top and bottom and making screen edge scrolling extremely difficult. I don't know how many Surface users there are out there so my problem is probably not widely experienced, but it would be nice to have the option to make any resolution fit to screen as per the previous functionality.
  6. Better than gamergate throwing a temper tantrum and starting a review bombing campaign to destroy a developer over 2 lines of dialogue, I suppose. The BG1 narrator now plays regular characters on Family Guy and The Simpsons (the voice of Principle Lewis on American Dad! is basically just a sexually aggressive Sarevok with a gambling problem), so he's probably a little too pricey at this point for the likes of PoE.
  7. I actually think the ship combat system shows a lot of promise; if you dive into it with an open mind there's actually a lot of strategy to it. The problem is that it's completely unconnected to the boarding system, so unless you're planning on sinking a ship there's no point in ever firing on it. I don't mind that there are plenty of crew left to fight even if you kill of the deckhands/canoneers (after all, your companions and sidekicks join the fight unharmed even if your crew takes damage), but the ship needs to reflect what happened during battle when you board it. Creating damaged ship models might be too expensive, but they could at least add some fire/smoke zones based on hull damage to spice up the fights a little and give an advantage to the ship that took the least damage. If you're in a Voyager with 5 hull left trying to board a Galleon that took no damage, it should be much harder than the other way around. They did say in the recent Q&A that they're aware that a lot of people are unsatisfied with the system and are looking into ways of improving it, so at least there's that.
  8. A weapon set has two slots. The one on the left is for the primary weapon; the one on the right is for the off-hand/shield. For single weapon style just place your one-handed weapon in the primary slot of the weapon set you want to use. Note that to get the bonus, you can't have anything in the shield/offhand slot.
  9. Any luck on finding console commands for level scaling? Why they would grey this option out after start is beyond me.
  10. Treat them as abilities. Type "findgamedata proficiency" and it should list all of them.
  11. I loved the fresh sound and approach of the new narration...but even if I didn't, a few lines of audio making up far less than 1% of the game's VO seems like such an odd thing to ALT+F4 over. I would get it if she was narrating all the expository lines in the game, but it's literally only during act transitions. In Baldur's Gate, the actor who voices Sarevok was also the voice of the narrator. Used to bother the hell out of me... for about 2-3 combined minutes of the game.
  12. The contents of grimoires are independent of what you choose at level up and cannot be edited. There are grimoires to be looted all over the Deadfire and you are meant to be able to swap multiple grimoires out during combat to increase your spell repertoire.
  13. One option would be to make grimoires editable but only hold 1 spell per level (instead of 2). It would allow more player choice while still encouraging grimoire swapping to adapt to different situations.
  14. I'd like to see crits be just a little less common and a little more powerful. A slightly higher threshold and maybe an additional 20-30% damage bonus would be about right. As it is, I sometimes crit 4-5 times against the same enemy before they go down, which feels a little weak.
  15. There should be a penalty to relationships with certain party members if you steal excessively while they're in the group. I take a hit with Xoti when I employ a little skullduggery in dialogue, but not when I rob blind every impoverished home in the Gullet?
  16. 18 PER Rogue/Shattered Pillar dual wielding sabres is a blast. High criticals/PEN, swift flurry, thundering blows, and sneak attack synergize incredibly well. There are also a number of items that really compliment the build - Miscreant's Leathers, unique sabres, a necklace that grants auto-kill on 10% of hits against targets with 100 health or less...with the right kit you're regularly landing 3-4 hits/crits at once just with autoattacks.
  17. There is a pistol that seems designed for this kind of build; it grants stacking bonuses to melee recovery on hit. It's for sale either at the Brass Citadel gunsmith or from the weapon shop in the black market, can't remember.
  18. Bounties pay 1,200-5,000+ a pop. I was able to buy a Junk at level 11 just by completing bounties and selling the loot.
  19. The 30% damage isn't applied only when sneaking, it applies whenever your target has any kind of affliction (prone, flanked, dazed, confused, hobbled, distracted, etc etc). You don't need to be in stealth or behind your target, but the latter will add the flanked affliction if the target is engaged with someone else. Also, it's not a set 30% damage - it scales with level. By the end of the game a multiclass rogue will deal +60% and I think a single class rogue will deal +70%.
  20. Does anyone know how exactly level scaling affects encounters? For instance, is a single ogre just as hard to defeat at level 12 as it is at level 4 (TESIV: Oblivion Style) or does the game instead just throw more ogres (or a different creature entirely) at you at level 12 than it would at level 4? I'm asking because I chose upward level scaling for critical path only (and have mostly avoided the critical path), but I'm finding myself over-levelled for a lot of the side content since reaching lvl 10. I'd like to enable upward scaling for everything through the console/registry, but I don't want to be eventually fighting level 20 xaurips if that's how the game handles scaling. Does anybody have experience with this?
  21. Seems to rely more on sleight of hand. Was able to successfully reverse pickpocket a grenade a few hours ago with only 3 in explosives (around 5 sleight of hand). You've got to try it — way more entertaining than backstab and usually kills the target outright. Just make sure to have the bomb in your inventory, not a quick slot.
  22. Does anyone know if her dialogues still trigger when equipped on a companion? I'd like the quest/banter, but swords aren't the best weapon proficiency for my class. Edit: Ah, looks like the dialogue is tied to leveling up the weapon, which you can only do as the watcher.
  23. Maybe, but they sort of threw the baby out with the bathwater, and made the class not nearly as fun because of it. I think they could have made grimoires more "special" to find just by having more spells that were only found on grimoires you found in interest places or on difficult opponents, but couldn't learn via the level-up mechanic. But let me learn them, so I can select the set of spells I find most appropriate for what I expect to encounter, and form my own dynamic strategies via synergies between the ones I pick. I think there are at least a couple of these - I saw one grimoire spell that summons a staff made of snakes that you certainly can't pick at level up (unless one of the specialists has it). I actually kind of like the new system as it encourages you to play around with spells you might not otherwise use. I've never found Aloth lacking for levelled spells and the ones from his various grimoires have actually come in useful in a few fights.
  24. I'm using dual sabres with my monk multiclass and the DMG is nowhere near what OP is experiencing. Something must be way off with the build - it would help if OP could post a screenshot of the character sheet/combat log.
  25. I thought it could be that too but she's definitely not wounded. I wondered about that too and I've tried swapping her armor around. She says it even when wearing light clothing. I haven't tried testing removing belts or cloaks or other gear like that tho... Would that be worth it? The Mystic voice says "gotta shed some gear" I think. When I tested other voices I remember the Kind voice set says something like "It's not that I wouldn't like to carry more..." Other voices I tested said similar things that I'm forgetting at the moment. Maybe they were planning on adding encumbrance, added the lines for the voice sets, and now you're encountering a bug where the "carrying too much" audio file is being used instead of the one for "combat start". Kind of a stretch, but I suppose it's as good an explanation as any. If someone knows where the voice files are we could at least eliminate a few possibilities.
