probably because they didn't want to give the monk the ability to mitigate more damage than any other class, i mean as it is my monk is tanky as hell, if i could get rid of 20% of incoming damage as well.... having said that i share your disapointment as right now wounds is basically just the opposite of focus rather than being its own unique system

with max dex and about average per you get quite a high interupt rate though And you get hit way more and take tons of interrupts yourself because your resolve is low. OP's build is not a real tank, that's why it's dying. with a dex of 19, swift strikes, and two hand focus it really matters 0 what my concentration is because i throw out attacks twice as fast as the majority of my opponents, i mean intel is the only stat i would advocate dumping but i resolve would be what i dumped next if i had to. Looking at my combat log as long as im not being swarmed it reads something like Tiello interupts X for 12 crush damge Tiello crits X for 20 Crush damage X grazes Tiello for 4 Y damage and sometimes interupts

Can you post your exact build? I am running a solo monk and havnt had problems (well my problems havnt been a lack of tankiness) , then again i am running moonlike. You problem may be that you arent out dpsing the enemy, monks arent that endurable but i can outdps mobs by a factor of four or so (early game im hitting for 30 per turn they hit for like 2

I needed a ranged aoe spell to kill the phantoms without getting stunlocked. Most fights i breeze my way through, but i really have nothing i can do vs a stunlock other than avoid it, the only way i can do that is with range, the room is too tight to kite like i would if they were one on one. Im gonna try looking for fortitude items so that i can avoid it in future, or when i get the aoe shockwave on wounds i might be able to out stun the stunner

nah i was off to the side of it, i pulled the shadow so that it came first then i took my time positioning, i was actually quite unlucky with the scrolls, two of them pretty much missed, an i had to 1v1 the last one down. I really wish they balanced phantoms, they are easily the hardest mob for ages, like im now blasting through mobs like paper XD btw i got swift strikes, torments reach, peasant specialisation, two handed weapons, and when i hit 5 (after watcher) i tookstunning blow

you only need lore two for fan of flames. And you need to position so you can cast them without being stun locked, i found the best way to do this is with an animat, it lets you build a corner, also you want to miss the shadow but hit the phantoms, getting hit by the shadow is actually a good hting because he only dazes you, the phantoms stunlock you as im sure youve experienced XD

I killed a spider The trick is to make scrolls, with 4 scrolls of fire and good positioning you can nuke down the phantoms, thats why the figurine is so important, because it allows you to position it so that the shadow is in front and with th figuring only the shadow can reach you, you cant get stunlocked= you can cast the four scrolls, this works as any class. I hate phantoms with such a passion i wish i didnt have to go through so many loops just to avoid the stunlock of death.

wurms are ranged and hit decently hard, the 5 chanter 1 druid build i poster earlier becomes even stronger coz you get a few summons to act as a wall and then the rest focus down anyone you click on, i mean one of the only thing stopping phantoms being even more dps crazy is that in tight spaces they struggle to auto attack, when you get worms you can block doorways and unleach a rain of fire on anyone who comes close. PS and i havnt even seen what 5 drakes could do

First of all, no. It is your weapon accuracy. Spells have higher accuracy by default. (you can see spell accuracy at log after you cast spell) Second. If you read my first post you would see, that my build use 2 spells that give together EXTRA +40 accuracy. That means you would have total 89 weapon accuracy (and even more spell accuracy). Hardly any enemy would dodge it and you would crit most of the time. How tanky woudl the ciphers be? would they be able to get hit at all or would they rely entirely on charming any mobs that slip through? is the idea full glass cannons protected by full on tank?

Yea my exp gain is identical to before the patch, the only difference is that im a beggar who cant afford the items i need to win. I mean really? it feels like they saw people having fun soloing and said nah **** you guys, you play it our way not yours, i mean there are so many other things they should have balanced over things that only really affect solo players.I mean as a team of 6 animat is in no way worth 6000 gold, i certainly wouldnt consider buying it for that price. The only reason Im saving up for it now is because I need it to defend myself from the stunlock phantoms, another huge design flaw imo. I mean phantom fights are the stupidest, most boring fights ive had in any game ever. I can tank them for about 5 minutes but im stunned for about 99% of those five minutes. There is no strategy to it, no tactics unless you wanna exploit so what is the point in it? There is a line between frustrating and challenging, pre patch solo PoTD was fun and challenging, now its just a grind where you have to min max absolutely everything and even then if RNG doesnt like you prepare to watch your toon stand there like an idiot not doing anything. I was quite solidly against exploits and killing npcs etc but not I basically have to. this patch is terrible. (also te patch notes said solo play would be receiving a bonus for 5% to 10% can anyone tell me what that actually means because it 100% is NOT exp gain.....)

Without more info on what game mode i cant comment but im going to comment anyway , its possible to do it level 3 with a strong composition even one PoTD, one thing Ive learnt in my solo run is that if you think the difference between easy and hard and hard and PoTD is big then try solo Im almost level 5 and i struggle to fight one phantom XD they literally stun lock me for two minutes, if i get 8 free seconds of hitting them they die but its the most frustrating fight in the game so far because you never know if you are gonna hit them at all before you die or if you will kill them in the first ten seconds. The only reliable way to kill them is by exploiting the ai and i try not to do that
