  1. It does support more than two button mice. It supports up to 5 additional buttons beyond the normal right / left and mouse wheel. Which is very nice considering how many games seem to forget that there's anything more than the basics, forcing more reliance on odd keyboard configurations.
  2. It's an internal tech demo -- don't expect too much (except a lot of crashes).
  3. I wonder if it's a score that will be used in the game or if it's something specifically for the Fallout 3 teaser site.
  4. The FreeSpace 2 engine was open sourced. All the music and art assets are still under copyright but since this is a total conversion I'm assuming it uses all its own assets.
  5. I only care about the enchiladas
  6. I was pretty sure there was "creation" through choices in leveling up and the various other rpg elements... are you complaining because you can't play a hot elf girl?
  7. Or perhaps EB doesn't have the same employees in every store ... *yawn*
  8. I use OO for writing papers. It does what I need it to do, it's free and I've had less problems using it than I have with MS Word. However, when it comes to making spreadsheets and graphs I've found the OO solution to be lacking in ease of use and features so I've stuck with MS Excel for those things.
  9. I wasn't actually in any sort of customer service position at the time. I had worked a long day (pushing carts) and got a little snippy with a customer who was pestering me with complaints. I was a temp at the time and the store had a policy that if any of their temp employees received a customer complaint -- it was the boot for them. They "let me quit" instead of firing me (my record was otherwise spotless). It was probably less messy for them to do it that way and it was better for me too.
  10. Sorry to burst your bubble Volo -- but I got fired because of a customer complaint. See, your personal experiences don't describe the world. In the end it's the boss who makes the final decision, but you're fooling yourself if you think customers can't factor in that.
  11. Yep, all better.
  12. Since the last forum update the the little Obsidian O icon in the tabs has once again been replaced with the blue triangle V thing.
  13. Hyperbole much?
  14. Making schools accountable for cyberbullying would be a bad idea. If it doesn't happen on their property -- they shouldn't have a say in it. If a student is using school equipment for cyberbullying that's a different matter. But schools should stay out of anything that doesn't happen within their property. I don't believe schools should even get involved with physical or verbal bullying that doesn't occur on school grounds. That's a job for the local law enforcement and the courts.
  15. Barely Touched Final Fantasy 7 Neverwinter Nights Planescape Chrono Cross Baldur's Gate Anachronox Halfway Through Oblivion Dungeon Siege Beyond Divinity Fell at the last hurdle Final Fantasy 6 & 9 Gothic 3 Dungeon Siege 2
  16. I did say the first ones would be free of restricting laws right? I know the later ones will get told you can't .... That is why the first are lucky. The first ones will not be free of restricting laws. The FAA (replace with your local flight organization if you don't live in the U.S.) has plenty of rules when it comes to aircraft, these things are not "cars". It doesn't even look like this thing would meet the criteria for a sport aircraft, so it's a minimum of 40 hours of training to get a pilots license (in the U.S.) and then there are many rules and regulations one has to follow after that. Flying cars have been "coming soon" for decades now.
  17. No new motherboard at least. http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070130-8730.html
  18. I don't remember changing the difficulty setting so it should have been what the default was. I uninstalled it afterwards due to a lack of continuing interest so I can't go back and check. What units did you attack with? I was going to send over my army of tanks but decided it wasn't worth the bother of transporting them. Instead I ended up ammassing a few large groups of bombers (I had 8 or so air bases at the end) and launched my attack when I had enough to outlive their AA guns -- massive death ensued.
  19. It hasn't, which is dissapointing since having a good engaging story makes for a better game. I enjoyed TA more than I enjoyed the Supreme Comander demo. TA just had a better feel to it. I had a similar problem -- ground turrets are just too powerful. It took me a long time to build up a significant fleet to destroy the last two bases in the second mission of the demo. On the other hand, I was completely invincible to any attacks they threw at me because of my own turrets. There was nothing fun or exciting about it.. just waiting and more waiting for the battle to finish. Maybe it's different in skirmish..
  20. I tried it but I didn't enjoy it much. The interface made me feel claustrophobic.. like I was stuck somewhere looking out a little window. The two missions that were included weren't very exciting and the story line didn't interest me -- it definitely didn't make me want to buy the game.
  21. I think the level at which it's been criticized can be comfortably called fanatical since there are much more important things in there to be picked from. However, it was a pretty stupid thing to mess with in the first place. I'd gladly support a few of the other arguments if I were more motivated
  22. The reason for their new found hair was already mentioned in this thread and it was a reasonable one considering the Fallout world. It's easy to accept -- if you can't accept the reason and yet you can still accept all the other monsters, chances are you're just nitpicking. A static world is a boring one.
  23. The whole hairy deathclaw "issue" has me scratching my head. Both Fallout 1 and 2 didn't take their monsters very seriously -- often venturing into the realm of fantasy and b movie horror flicks (giant ants, aliens?, massive scorpions, flaming geckos, flytrap like plants that spit spikes, etc...). For one to suspend their belief for those things and then make a full stop at deathclaws with hair... it sounds like nitpicking for the sake of it.
  24. Correct In what window - in the post window? Such as, 'Insert Special Item?' yes
  25. I had the same problem in both IE 6 and Firefox 1.5
