  1. I believe JE was referring to the 360 version. The PC version will obviously have a lot of variation depending on the hardware its running on and its graphic settings.
  2. Comodo was the only free firewall I could find that was 64bit. It's a good one though. It also has good security: http://www.matousec.com/projects/firewall-...nge/results.php
  3. They were having issues with the amount of gore and the game ratings in Germany -- they might not have had the censored version ready yet.
  4. "While we cannot give you an EXACT time of release, we can tell you the game will be released sometime late this evening, Pacific Standard Time." - eriqchang (http://www.agdiforums.com/forum/viewtopic....=18&t=12326)
  5. QFG 1 did have one of the greatest adventure game deaths ever -- but it wasn't the fairies -- it was being able to shove a lock pick up your nose and hemorrhage I discovered it after getting stuck and frustrated with the game. It was a complete surprise when it happened though, didn't actually expect it to work -- my poor hero I'm pretty sure it can't be done in the remake.
  6. Hmm, another day? The cg trailer/teaser thing is up -- and loading slowly
  7. It looks like you'll be able to edit your character right before you leave the Vault (tutorial stage). This means that, just like in Oblivion, you'll be able to skip the tutorial by making a save right before entering the open world and using that save as a beginning point when starting a new game. The most disturbing thing I find in the screen shots is the interface. Things like skills being listed in alphabetical order instead of being grouped by similarities (combat, diplomacy, etc..) is a little mystifying and confusing to me. And although the Pip Boy looks cool it seems like it'll be an annoyance to navigate (on the PC at least).
  8. If the controls were better and the camera wasn't such a nuisance as to have to re-adjust it at inopportune times (a very.. horrendously bad idea for the style of the game / control scheme) I might have been able to enjoy the demo. As it stands though I found it to be a rather annoying experience. The skill tree seemed rather anemic and I miss the loot too. *scratches game off list*
  9. Most of the consequences will probably be rather minimal in nature. The third game also has to be taken into account. Branching the storyline in too many ways from the choices made in the first game and then again in the second game -- by the time the third game is made it starts to become a serious problem of how much development time and money is put into story-arcs and cinematic sequences that most players may never see.
  10. In the gameplay demonstration video on Gametrailers the enemy near the turret runs at the player with a knife while VATS is executing. The lack of some of the enemy movement during VATS probably has more to do with your character being a still target (no need to reposition) rather than VATS itself.
  11. In the G4 TV demonstration video the enemy on the bridge with the turret just squats there doing nothing while the player fires bears at her. In the Gametrailers demonstration video the enemy on the bridge actually destroys the turret because she was hit by the turrets crossfire when it was targeting the player. The enemy destroys her own best defense . You'll also notice she drops her gun (probably injured) and does a weird run away/squat thing before pulling out a knife and running back toward the player. There's definite room for improvement. Here's hoping they can polish the game some more in the short time before release.
  12. The combat in this game is definitely over the top and silly. Though, I think I might be able to enjoy it if three things are achieved. 1. That I'm able to forget how non-sensible some of the weapons are and just enjoy the silliness of it all 2. They fix the poor AI seen in the demonstrations 3. They have an option to disable the slow motion bullet cam Taking this game with any sort of serious intent will probably just lead to me disliking it
  13. A little over 1 minute into the video he uses a gause rifle -> http://youtube.com/watch?v=EYd59yMIDz8 He makes a targeted shot at the eyes but the enemy loses a limb and a big chunk out their torso.
  14. The same hapenend in Fallout 1 + 2 -- maybe you missed my previous post about the bloody mess perk. Everything goes bloody splat explode with it. If anything that's one of the few things that is true to the earlier Fallout games. The teddy bear gun does sound silly -- unless the teddy bears are filled with lead
  15. I'll assume G4TV website will have the video up shortly, and you can see for yourself, how they are making this abomination. Also shooting people IN THE HEAD, causes people to Blow up in a bloody mess (Arms and legs somehow... get blown off... by the bullet you shoot to their head). BETHESDA ARE SO FUNNY! hoho! The exploding is due to the bloody mess perk. In the game play trailer the enemy shot in the head doesn't blow into pieces until a few seconds after he's shot which makes it seem disjointed. Another thing that bugs me is that the enemies still fire on the character while the slow motion bullet camera thing plays. Although realistic -- why would I want that feature enabled if it makes my character a living pi
  16. Fallout 3 gameplay trailer -> http://www.gametrailers.com/player/36197.html
  17. Screen shot 5 showing of the GUI and some sort of lightning spell. Definitely looks similar to Baldur's Gate.
  18. Can't say I was expecting a 30 minute extravaganza but I was interested in seeing something.. I dunno.. a little less generic? I blame Volourn for raising my expectations on that front. I'm still interested in the game but the trailer just lowered my overall anticipation for it.
  19. The trailer gave me a good vibe -- too bad that most of what I've already heard about FO3 has done the opposite...
  20. Since when is 1:00am at night? Early morning Saturday I'm guessing. Either way the countdown to another countdown was a lame idea.
  21. Dungeon Siege 1 : "Better than Bantha poo?" Dungeon Siege 2 : "It was alright." Space Siege : "Crossing my fingers on this one." I thought Dungeon Siege 2 was an incredible improvement over the first one -- gives me hope when looking forward to Space Siege.
  22. You mean those of us who have enough skill to get to level 47 without hacking it in (and then bragging about it on a forum)? Don't get me wrong - I've played Diablo with hacked chars and items. It was fun for a day or two until I grew up. Leaching off Secret Cow Level runs could get you over lvl 60 in under 30 minutes easily (all legit too ). I believe they made changes so it wasn't as viable to do though -- but I stopped playing before those changes happened.
  23. I've seen this feature in other games (never played BP) and loved it. Any game that has a quick-save feature should use a system similar to this
  24. There's the MMO Huxley which is supposed to be launched later this year. It seems very focused on traditional FPS mechanics. Then there's also The Agency (gametrailers.com) which is a first / third person shooter spy themed MMO. I'm really not so sure that Valve would be able to complete an MMO .. they seem to have a hard enough time getting their single-player games out without massive delays -- how many times was Team Fortress 2 redesigned?
  25. If Blizzard was an independant company you'd be right about them having more money than God. Blizzard makes $120 million dollars in gross revenue each month from WoW alone. The idea of my post was that it's not Blizzards money -- rather it goes into their parent companie's coffers. If I'm wrong and they do keep the money please let me know As far as I know Vivendi Games wants Blizzard to remain a cash cow, which means exploiting their current IPs. After all, they have to make up for the flops Sierra puts out
