  1. From the preview of the next episode it looks like it will have characters doing personality flips again
  2. Here's an SNL skit that might offer an answer: http://www.hulu.com/watch/96411/saturday-n...2009#s-p1-sr-i4 "If we all do it we can't get in trouble"
  3. I think he's under some kind of false impression. I've never heard of Vista locking down certain pieces of hardware or checking for piracy not related to itself. Although, I wouldn't put it past MS to implement something like that. Some possibilities: Vista originally had a "kill" switch (SP1 removed it) that turned off features and limited log-in time if it wasn't activated within 30 days (3 days after a big hardware change) or if it believed you had a pirated copy. I'm not sure if that's in Windows 7 or not. There's HDCP DRM which will only allow media protected by the DRM to be played on machines that have HDCP compliant hardware. However, media protected by such DRM wont play on an OS without the DRM implemented either (barring other measures). The DRM in Windows Vista and 7 hasn't bothered me so far. Registration has been painless and easy and Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) hasn't made the mistake of calling me a pirate. However, I have never changed major hardware components while running Vista or 7 and have also heard that WGA does make some false positives. One day I might have to deal with Windows DRM issues and that does worry me a bit but not enough to keep me from using it.
  4. 6GB does come in 3x2GB sticks and is used for a triple channel memory system which the Core i7's support. Doesn't do much good in a Core 2 system.
  5. Actually Valkyrie Profile has gameplay features that encourage replaying it. multiple endings semi-random loot different characters to use choices in character skills only hard difficulty contains all the game content If one didn't initially start the game on hard and wanted to see the extra content or if they wanted to see a different ending then they would have to sit through all those unskippable cutscenes again. I didn't mind most of the ones in Mass Effect because they were fairly short.
  6. Go play Valkyrie Profile if you think Mass Effects cutscenes are bad There's about 1 minute worth of gameplay in the first 45 minutes of the game. If you want to see it if for yourself (although I don't recommend it): http://speeddemosarchive.com/demo.pl?Valky...ile_SS_100p_429
  7. I got Windows 7 Professional for free through my current school At the last college I attended they sold discount Microsoft products from the campus store. Full version of Vista Business Edition was 80$. I would probably still be using XP if I wasn't able to get such steep discounts. Well, I suppose they aren't really discounts -- I'm probably paying for it through my tuition fees
  8. The Activision / Blizzard merger makes much more sense to me now.
  9. Waiting for the PC version here.
  10. The stats are auto assigned in D3. There may be ways to alter stats through items or other systems but it's still unclear. They also have weapons that have class restrictions (barbs can't use staves, wizards can't use two handed axes etc..) but I'm not sure if that will extend to armors or not.
  11. Humans can carry plant viruses. http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlere...i?artid=1310655
  12. Pre-expansion D2 had five character classes. D3 has been confirmed to also only have five character classes which leaves one to still be anounced. I hope and suspect it will be a bow using class.
  13. Nope. Rocksteady Studios are the folks behind Urban Chaos: Riot Response: Their Batman game looks much better.
  14. Radiation in Fallout 1 + 2 was pretty rare. The only time I remember worrying about it was when entering the Glow and even then I had enough resistance and drugs to play several bouts of chess with a computer. Asside from some pretty specific instances it really didn't play much of a role.
  15. I'm not sure why Microsoft has a listed requirement of 20GB for Windows 7 64 bit and 16GB for the 32 bit version. My install of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit is around 5GB in size.
  16. I liked the old art style better -- still looking forward to this game though
  17. A powered USB hub simply provides an extra power source for the USB components attached to it. It's just like a normal USB hub except you don't have to worry about the power draw from the computers USB port. If you go the USB hub route then get a powered one because even if the extra power isn't needed for the current periphirals it may be needed later.
  18. Is a powered USB hub out of the question?
  19. It wont stop pirates who only want play the singleplayer campaigns but multiplayer is a very large draw for both of these games.
  20. Not sure if you're thinking of a different game (Guild Wars?) but CoH has a monthly fee and Champions Online will too.
  21. Straight out of the box with Wine, nope, not yet anyway. If you feel like working with Wine a bit it is possible to get it set up running though (with issues). http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?...TestingId=40010
  22. Sony has shown me the future of gaming! But it's already here
  23. It's just the leaked trailer..
  24. The sensor bar for the Wii is just a set of LEDs -- the camera is in the Wiimote wich tracks the LEDs in the sensor bar. The PS3 is essentially the system in reverse. The one bonus of that is that they could (should) sell the remotes for less. Microsofts Natal has the advantage over both systems in that only the camera is needed. I have doubts as to how well the system will work though.
  25. Actually the Wiimote has a camera. It's just in reverse.
