  1. As long as it is auto-generated from data it shouldn’t be twice the work for the most part, I think.
  2. Is that your personal feeling of what an Eoran wizard is (or should be), or is that canon ? 'cause I do not seem to find any lore explicitly stating that wizards are "the skilled and trained ones among all casters". Wizardry in RPGs is, generally, the ability to evoke effects (with or without resorting to implements and/or magical reagents) (arcane casting) as opposed to being allowed to cast this or that spell because of one's devotion to this or that deity (divine casting) or because of one's heritage (demonic abilities, draconic abilities). Nothing in there entails that the wizard (or divine caster) be particularly good at his craft, or underwent special training (or training at all). You make it seem as if wizards are the elite of the arcane casters, for which I can find no canonical reference. The wiki page for wizards, Description section, states they are "students of arcane [...] often forming academies or guilds". It goes on to say (background section) they are "of high education and extreme mental discipline". The page specifically states that wizard academies and guilds are "devoted to research and development in magical studies". There is not one thing in there supporting your claim/assumption that wizards are the elite of arcane casters, having undergone this or that rigorous training. One may very well conceive of a wizard as a somewhat recluse, somewhat close-minded researcher and pursuer of esoteric knowledge, who's had no field and combat experience whatsoever. One may as well conceive of another wizard being brought up and trained specifically as a battle-mage. True but I'm assuming that wizards have arcane powers because of lots of training and learning magic, which is probably hard and long path. It seems different than ciphers, druids or pirests, who (I guess) gain their power in more in-born/granted/gifted/natural way than hard work. Gods don’t grant spellcasting on Eora. Priests “get” their power from the strength of their belief in something (not necessarily in his god himself). Whether that something approves of it or even exists doesn’t matter, AFAIR.
  3. The restriction exist to pay for getting sub-class bonuses...and you are asking to remove it to add even more bonuses? lol Well, since unlike the Wizard, there is no "NO SUBCLASS" option, so what the hell am i paying for with those bloody restrictions? There are sub-classes, it's the god selection. “No ‘no subclass’”, not “no subclass”. And those free bonus spells are kinda… not for everyone. You can’t choose what you get. I’m not sure I want more fire spells even if some of those happen to be somewhat good, I’ve got enough of them already as a priest.
  4. Elusive walk (modal) -50% movement speed +X to defenses against area effects
  5. Technically, it’s fighter who is taking others’ stuff here, because those things weren’t his in the first place
  6. He used that time to recover from foxpetting.
  7. And if they remain that way it would be a good idea to show some warning icon at character creation where appropriate for newbies.
  8. Actually, it’s completely the other way around. The better at game you are, the less your opinion on how easy injury effects are matters. I mean, if you aren’t knocked out you don’t get penalties so it doesn’t really matter to you how severe penalties are. They might as well not exist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ In general, the problem with injury systems is the fact that they penalize those who are already bad (for some values of the word) while having limited or no effect on masters of the game.
  9. Yeah I get you man. As opposed to real life, where injured people get stronger and stronger over time, because that's what injuries do, they make you stronger. Man if only the devs could see that, and give buffs for each injury characters sustain... Too much realism in the game design will make it unplayable. And spiral of death is a real design problem.
  10. Alternative idea: double down and make multi-classing mandatory with full progressing maybe over more character levels. Which would make it into kind of Rule of cool’s Legend system where every character picks 3 tracks of abilities (each track has 7 circles each granting a new ability, or more if needed; sometimes you can choose). Somewhere between class-based and classless. Ok, this, probably, won’t work because PoE wasn’t designed for this, but one can dream… // I haven’t actually played backer beta myself.
  11. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/92464-ydwin-to-return-in-the-expansion/page-6?do=findComment&comment=1909431 This wasn’t “slick,” but if you feel like being dishonest, fine.
  12. You should look into a mirror before you accuse others of this. And Ydwin wouldn’t exist if PoE never existed in the first place. Your point? More like, what exactly is your problem? Some people like the character, some people have some fantasies about said character and/or create humorous threads about it. There are many people out there and they don’t have to agree to your view on the issue (or pretty much any other). At least some of us don’t call other people names, like a certain someone on a page 6 did
  13. A thread lives if there are comments, it dies otherwise. You can, of course, pretend to be literal-minded if you feel like it.
  14. Are you addressing the anime fans who have been obnoxiously obsessing over Ydwin since the concept art dropped (take a moment and consider why this thread even exists)? Or are you addressing those of us who are rejoicing because *maybe* we can stop having to hear about her? This thread exists because some people can’t take a joke, mostly. And boredom, lots of it.
  15. That seems to be the biggest choice of all, Eothas probably ain't too happy that on top of being blown up and his followers killed some adventurer blew out his candle. And I don’t even remember what choice I made there
  16. It has come to this. Sailor Moon’s sword: Sailor Moon’s oldest outfit: They got skirts, and… what? I’ve watched all of Sailor Moon in the old times and when I saw Ydwin “Sailor Moon” never crossed my mind, personally.
  17. Wait... you can import your mercs? Nope. But I wish I could.
  18. Watcher (priest), Edér, Aloth, and custom ranger (I can’t just through her away now; I wish I could import that hired character without recreating from scratch) at the very least. That means I’ve got only 1 free slot, likely for Xoti, unless she’ll be a pain in some way. I’m not sure how I feel about having only fighter and monk on the fronlines, though.
  19. You channel all your fireball rage into fists. Also helps with not killing everyone else around you
  20. Because all the kids think that "deeper companion relationships" = Japanese dating sim and therefore assume that she will be their waifu. That is the only reason. This. I just can't stretch enough how much Obsidian dropped the ball with that character art. The moment I saw that 'is Ydwin yandere or tsundere?' thread pop up on this forum it was obvious that certain people had gotten way too enthusiastic about the anime like qualities of the character. (And its potential dateability.) I really wished that they wouldn't have crossed over to an anime style when designing the concept art of this character, or the overall character's description: so uninspiring and bland. I feel it was really out of place as I can't see animé tropes, especially of the simplistic 'is Ydwin yandere or tsundere?' kind mix well with PoE's bleak and grim setting. Rather, I hope that Obsidian will keep developing more complex, human like characters as they did in PoE 1. In the end, I trust Obsidian to do a good job in character development, but actually hope that this character doesn't get developed into a full companion and someone else takes her place instead. I can create a similar post for every companion. Or I can (the horror!) THINK about it. And you wouldn’t even know! That doesn’t really change anything. Judge the character by what (s)he is, not by something that’s in the heads of others
  21. I’d rather have them replaced with minor thematic talents you can choose from a short list. But that’ll take more time and effort.
