Why does every class have to have magic?
tinysalamander replied to Darkprince048's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I think it's the opposite. We need more of the stuff. Just “import” the whole Tome of battle somehow.

Spell Casting
tinysalamander replied to gristlethick's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Well then. Make all (priest?) spells mana-based (no slots). Those lower than half your maximum spell level give you mana, while the upper part costs mana to cast. The larger the difference between the spell level and that maximum spell level / 2 the higher the gain/cost. Want some storms of fireness? Better cast some blessings first! And when you are ready the battle is already over.

tinysalamander replied to evilcat's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Modals to convert all weapon damage to energy type (maybe even spell damage if possible), but you can take only one.- Triggered
tinysalamander replied to Spoting's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It's simple. You can't be “absolutely certain” in anything, but it doesn't mean it's impossible to do anything at all. On day 1 bug forum exploded with reports. You let your players test things and then actually read their reports. It isn't exactly rocket science. And we aren't talking about abstract bugs that depend on hardware configuration or minor bugs which only happen when you do something obscure in a remote corner of the map when it is Tuesday here.- Triggered
tinysalamander replied to Spoting's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Some dealbreaker bugs can and they don't depend on PC configuration. You know, import, respec and stuff. Bug-free programs likely don't exict, but games which you can actually start playing do.- Triggered
tinysalamander replied to Spoting's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Relationships were fixed in the second patch released over a week ago now. The Respec issue is not a bug, it's just a feature a lot of people would like. Import was also fixed over a week ago. People keep parroting this game has X bug, and largely what I am seeing is people talking about release bugs that are either already fixed or are not really bugs but feature requests. POTD difficulty is also not a bug btw, it is a balance issue, one they have already addressed will be improved in the next 2 patches. Losing abilities while respeccing is a feature? Whatever floats your boat, man. And no, not everything is fixed.- Triggered
tinysalamander replied to Spoting's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I expected bugs, personally. Just not the broken import, relationships and respec. Still waiting for my (one and only) playthrough.- Gaun's Pledge DLC Not Installing
tinysalamander replied to utopiarocker's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Yeah, I accidentally read somewhere myself. Feels kind of weird jumping through the hoops when they can push stuff I don't need without any trouble (Wasteland, for example).- Gaun's Pledge DLC Not Installing

tinysalamander replied to Verde's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Ha. Any examples salamander? Hmm, well, there was a certain quest (one of the early ones, maybe?) where a group of people was searching for someone, and when I did find the one, my character understood that their story wasn't quite what they sold me. So she let the person go. Then I came back and my character said the truth. Understandably, they weren't amused, although I'm not quite sure their decision to attack a group of armed “hobos” was a smart move. And it's not like they had any power over my character, so, why attack me? Although that part is a bit fuzzy in my mind by now. My character is deadly truthful priestess of Eothas, I guess- Free DLC, The Rum Runner's Pack, Coming Next Week!
tinysalamander replied to Mikey Dowling's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & NewsWhat about a DLC for no-fun-allowed people like us, those who don't do alcohol?- Gaun's Pledge DLC Not Installing
tinysalamander replied to utopiarocker's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)You can find the code to redeem it under PoE1 in your games.- Admirable Design Decisions
tinysalamander replied to Verde's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)From playing PoE1 I got the feeling that the only people who can afford to be totally honest are killing beasts (people often don't appreciate honest answers). Basically, if you see an honest man be on your guard. I found that kind of amusing, even if it was just my impression on how things worked.- Can we get Berath's blessing that allowes us to ignore Ship combat mini-game?
tinysalamander replied to Farsha's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That is not a good solution at all, there are ship bounties. And there is a main story mechanic where enemy ships (fire giants) guard one place on the map using ships. Removing the mechanic completely would break those interactions. Which only “breaks” if for those who don't want it at all. Which is… not a problem in my book.- Can we get Berath's blessing that allowes us to ignore Ship combat mini-game?
tinysalamander replied to Farsha's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That's what I'm talking about, though. Skip as in completely. And you won't get any loot as a result, of course.- [Error] Rekke mentioned in Event without even having recruited him
tinysalamander replied to Jazhara7's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Old PoE1 bug strikes back- Can we get Berath's blessing that allowes us to ignore Ship combat mini-game?
tinysalamander replied to Farsha's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Skip button would be preferable. Restarting a game to get rid of something you don't like in its gameplay is kinda not user-friendly (which is important for those of us who only play it once). Maybe make it an option so it won't bother people who actually like ship combat.- One Suggestion about Multiclassing
tinysalamander replied to Selvokaz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If they had time for that sort of thing I'd rather prefer all those numerious skills be accessible to all so one can make more meaningful choices.- The Ship combat thread
tinysalamander replied to Odoakar's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I happen to think mini-games in RPGs is a mistake, tbh. It's kinda nice when you like it (but then again if I wanted a different kind of game I'd play another game instead) and damn horrible when you don't.- Wish PoE wizards were like DnD wizards
tinysalamander replied to Bleak's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I do the same thing in any game where spells are a very limited resource, including mana-based systems. Outside of boss fights unless I've found some roundabout way to recover something I'm going to spend I don't. It feels weird to me, and I don't think that works really well in PC-based games. At least it doesn't for me. Which doesn't usually stop me from playing those games, but still I think that things can be improved somehow. At least with mana-based system you can have some sort of auto-recovery with time, although I'm not sure I actually played any that did it (nothing comes to mind at the moment).- Wish PoE wizards were like DnD wizards
tinysalamander replied to Bleak's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'd rather say that playing a wizard and not casting spells is much more weird. - New spells, abillities, passives, modals you wish to see(wishlist)
