What affects "random" item drops?
LadyCrimson replied to epeeist's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You'd more likely get a (more) knowledgable answer from people who have modded/scripted the game files and probably have a better idea of the game mechanics. Like, the site forum that the KSE editor is hosted on? Can't remember the url at the mo', sorry. At any rate...I've had very high intelligence on several characters and they all got crap for drops early in the game - and I do mean crap - like, almost nothing - and I had one lower level int. character who got 'great' stuff early in the game. And everything in-between. If such things as player stats affects drops, it seems likely it'd be nothing more than a tiny percentage increase chance, meaning, you got 'lucky' to get noticably better stuff twice in a row. It's like streaks of multiple on-base hits in baseball - the chances of getting a lot of consecutive on-base hits are very low - but doesn't mean it never happens. I remember once saving a game just before doing T3's solo bit on Peragus, and re-loading it a few dozen times to see what would randomly pop up in that container behind the door you have to use a mine on - it varied wildy, from great to poor - and his stats always stay the same. Edit - not that a few dozen 're-loads' is a comprehensive enough number to make a serious judgement on...you'd need hundreds or something. -
Bored so who did you hate the most from both KotOR
LadyCrimson replied to Kalfear's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On the Carth thing - I've read that the experience w/Carth is way different if you play a male PC vs. a female PC - ie, he's a lot more whiney seeming if you're male. So perhaps that's some of the reason for the differences on liking/disliking him. But I don't know for sure, since I still haven't gotten out of the 1st training city in Kotor1. In Kotor2, Hanhar would be my most hated. Tho hate is too strong a word, really. I just didn't like him or his childish macho-principled 'lifedebt over common sense' crap and thus never used him. -
Did anyone else just get a KOTOR II survey?
LadyCrimson replied to Sir Cedric's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nooo....I have to pick only one NPC that I like best. Yes, definitely too simplified, this is. It's like the mini-polls on nuke sites. Ok, I'm done w/the pointless 'up too late w/nothing better to do' whining. :D -
Did anyone else just get a KOTOR II survey?
LadyCrimson replied to Sir Cedric's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I assume when they ask this, that they mean a CONSOLE system? Why can't they be more specific for those of us who think of their PC as their video game system. hahaha EDIT - ok, specifics was on part 2. Bah. This survey is lame. Well, maybe they'll listen, so I guess that's cool. -
What music are you listening to right now?
LadyCrimson replied to draakh_kimera's topic in Way Off-Topic
Eric Clapton and BB King -
pre-searing is pretty boring after lvl 6 - I'd tell your Guildmates to hurry up and get out of there. The only reason to stay is to gather money - but money's not that hard to come by after mid-game so it might be more fun just to keep moving...

@Kaftan - omfg that picture of Nimoy and your narration cracked me up. Re: HP haters - I fall into that group. I have no logical reason for it, either. I hated HP when the fad started and I still hate HP Re: The actual poll - if i could vote for all of them, I would, despite being a rather large classic and TNG trek fan. It's not so much a specific category I dislike as the costume-wearing, 'don't you dare besmirch Tolkein's name' forum-sniping, placard-waving, intolerant ego-fanaticism fans that I can't stand, vs. 'just love the show, man' type fans. :D I really liked Will Wheatons clash with SW geeks lining up at the WRONG theater, who refused to move to the RIGHT theater on some kind of strange principle...lol

The Monkees greatest hits. Yes, that's right, the Monkees. -
Not me. I don't even know what that is. :D

I won't watch it as it plays. I rarely watch weekly television. When they release an entire season on DVD for sale at the local DVD store, and if it doesn't cost a merketing-hype fortune, I might watch it that way. PS - and I am a little horrified at the expanding franchise. Some things that are classic, do not stay classic if they keep on making new stuff in the name of money. *stares over at Star Trek universe*

I get none of them...except a few do sound familiar, I just couldn't be sure if what I'm thinking of is the 'right answer'. For example - the parrot one immediately brought to mind Monty Python's sketch. But I don't know if that's a 'geek' reference by this tests standards, or if there's another one they mean. EDIT - and Talos IV - I'm pretty sure that's a Star Trek reference, to a planet in the (original) series (pilot). But again...could be something else.

Passess the time. It's better than listing off sequencers, memorizing hypserspace routes, or counting ticks in the power couplings. (you know someone had to say it...) If you want a serious answer....I can't give one more serious than Atton's line. It's just...whittling away the hours when one can't sleep and one doesn't feel like doing anything else. EDIT - I did go through a phase a decade ago where i liked debating and talking of issues etc - but these days...no...I like the lighter side of message boards, not the serious one.

7-8 hours a day, average. It varies quite wildly from day to day, tho, because I have no set sleeping/waking/working schedule that I have to follow. Breeds bad habits, it does. Never been a 'regular pattern sleeper' tho, ever.

The money thing is way over-rated - well, unless you're a serious A-type personality and can't help yourself. :D But that's not me.
-
Yup...about the same age. :D Tho if you're 35, then I was off in my math by one year. Make that 9 or 10, then. Teach me to try and be 'cute' w/my answer. Eh...doesn't matter, close enough for tellin'. lol It's all a blur. "

This thread is causing a disturbance in the Force. " I was 8 or 9 when Star Wars was first released (I don't remember if it was a summer or winter release...).

Character Look-a-likes
LadyCrimson replied to Royal_Nonesuch's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I have to agree w/Baley - based purely on photos I've seen, not personality placed on top of photos, Nick looks nothing like Atton. There really isn't anyone that looks like atton to me, yet - there's only men who kinda have his attitude stance/expression/body-shape, and such. No real face look-a-likes, to me. Course, that could be cause he's a cartoon.... " -
Revan here, Revan there (Aug 31)

0.o That's bloody marvelous, that Atton/Exile strip. I love it. Finally went to your site, too, and I also love the Disciple panels #11, #39, and #45. Especially #11. I always love that bit in the game. Oh and that T3 part1/2 is hilarious. :D Edit - and the one of Exile walking away from Kavar...that one too... -

I think she needs a belt or those pants are going to fall down. :D Like her expression. In fact, I always like the expressions you create. -
What would be the best 2 vs. 2 lightsaber duel?
LadyCrimson replied to Lord Orpheus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
All of the old Star Trek is cheesy. It was the late 60's after all. The episode was called "Obsession" I keep wondering why Yoda doesn't battle the bad Jedi more often. He seemed to do pretty well tossing back the dark side lightning and stuff, which in the movies at least, is what they use to show how much 'easier power' the dark side gives. They should teach that trick toss-back-the-lightning to the students. -
Character Look-a-likes

That man does have a 3/4 profile a lot like Di's. I think I'll pull out Kotor2 and play it a little today. I miss Di's inane battle cries. hehe -

Don't 'dis my blondie boy, darth. :D Oh wait...I do it all the time - never say luv and dissing don't go together...hah! He's rather upset at me for abandoning him for GW right now tho. I like the new pic, Kyla - he looks his age, more! Although, since I'm 'old' I kinda like the fact he looks older in-game. hehe Cheers. -

LadyCrimson replied to Lord Orpheus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Nil is just a big energy vampire. Kirk could beat him down with an anti-matter bomb. :D -
I didn't cry at that point in the movie...I sniffled. I was really impressed with the whole 'sacry wolf pack' scene in terms of Disney animation etc. and then he comes charging in to rescue her - loved how he wasn't super-beast in that instance and collapsed. The end made me sniffle too, but didn't effect me the same emotionally. And I hated what they did to the Little Mermaid's ending. I refused to see it in the theater because of that - finally rented it once...couldn't stand it. At least B&Beast they tried to make a little darker.
