Best roleplay builds
InsaneCommander replied to Zaris's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Character: Elf/Assassin Background: Raider/Deadfire Dispositions: Clever, Shady Pros: I think it worked really well with all the pirate theme and collecting bounties for other factions. I consider Rauatai and the Vailians stupid for believing I'd side with them. The Huana at least had a reason for it, since I was "one of ours" or a "countryman". The Huana fragmented in the end and the invaders left, so it worked really well for the pirates. Cons: The ending said I was sailing home (to the Dyrwood?) but that makes no sense, my character is happy with a seat in the Principi Council. Although my character was happy, I felt sad for Pallegina and it will be difficult to get to the wheel to fix it. My next pt will be with a Pale Elf/Sorcerer/Mystic/White that Wends. I'll have the Eothasian fans, Pallegina and Ydwin in my party. Let's see how it goes. -
Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
InsaneCommander replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
Just finished Deadfire. Time to start Kingmaker. I think I'll try a dragonshifter sorcerer build like the one I posted before from Nerd Commando, but I'll choose the spells I want, like fireball and dragon breath, and efficiency be damned. -

v3.0.2 Patch Notes
InsaneCommander replied to Cdiaz's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announcements & News
Is it? I know it could be delayed, but last I saw it was still planned for November. -
See, this was actually one of the (many, many) things I disliked about D:OS. How come these elements were always very available exactly when you needed them and very conveniently positioned exactly how you needed them? It was very fourth-wall breaking for me. Exactly where I needed? No, I had to carry many barrels to make things even more convenient. As I said, this game is not exactly serious. But we could have a version of this that doesn't break the fourth wall. For example: have surface, rain and cloud spells.

I prefer D:OS1 than 2 and I think they are both really good games. But I consider PoE and Deadfire even better, mainly because of: - Isometric - More serious tone - That D&D feeling (classes, races, etc) D:OS does wonders with the elements, puddles, barrels and clouds. I'd love to see something like that in PoE, if it goes well with other elements in the game.

RIP Belranga! I kept Vatnir brilliant and used it a couple of times on my Assassin and on Aloth. Konstanten continuously summoned ogres as cannon fodder and eventually she died, when she had 84 wrath. For whatever reason, even though she kept getting closer, in the end she couldn't damage my party that much. Most of the damage was done by my Assassin and Aloth's missiles, but I don't remember if he successfully hit her with Salvo even once. Serafen shot the spiderlings to recharge his focus and Vatnir alternated from healing to buffing (and Salvation of Time ). Since I read some posts in this thread and I'm playing on Veteran, this is no big deal, but I didn't use figurines or empower. Well, actually my Assassin and Aloth did use their empower, but they both missed because I assumed they would hit and she still had high defences.

I get Brilliant with a Cipher, with the belt from SSS and with one of the Watcher abilities, although these last two don't always give Brilliant. There is also a cape, but it needs to be triggered by damage. I haven't played much with Chanters, but I got Konstanten to level 20, so if they can do it two I must have missed it spectacularly.

Rumours about acquisition by Microsoft

I'll have to do like @IndiraLightfoot and repeat something I posted in another thread. If this acquisition happens: the pizza is PoE3... -
What if Microsoft is developing BG3?

Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
InsaneCommander replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
I think it's basically this: if you like D&D you'll very likely enjoy this game. But there are still many bugs to fix and if you are unfamiliar with the rules you may have some problem with bad builds. Edit: Also, hard and unfair difficulties mean exactly that. -
Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire

8/10 Str 14/16 DeX (depending on race) 12/14 Con 8/10 Int 10 Wis 18 Cha (Possible as Aasimar) Magic Missile Mage Armor Magic missile would be your main damage for a level one spell. I dont recall which cantrip would be better, but until you get more casts you would need to cast those or more likely rely on your crossbow. Mage Armor can be cast once per rest usually, but may be unneeded. Past that I don't recall which spells any second level would be of use. I also dont recall the bloodlines offered in game, but generally avoid the ones that offer a melee buff like Draconic/Aberrant/Abyssal. Thanks for the reply. That's what I was looking for. But I'm watching this video and if you can turn into a giant dragon, I'm not so sure of what I want anymore... Edit: somebody posted this in the comments. -

Well, since we are discussing builds, what is a good one for a Sorcerer? Is having Charisma 20 a good idea? What about being an Aasimar? -
And now you unblocked it!
