Show Negative effects first!
InsaneCommander replied to Erik Dirk's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)This was particularly bad when I wanted to check if my Watcher got the brilliant inspiration. I had to disable the "frequent abilities" to see it.

God Challenges Feedback!
Although...wouldn't benevolent and child caring mean leaving her on the ship where it's safe and warm? Taking her along on crucible challenges and into the white void just seems...irresponsible You are totally correct. It was already insane to keep her on the boat, imagine bringing her to battles. Remember that this means she will be there in all encounters, including mega bosses and well, let's not spoil the game, but there are places that are dangerous even without enemies. One way or another, this is the only character I'm planning that would actually care about Vela. I guess I will have to make up an excuse. Maybe Eothas messed with Vela's soul too and the only way she can survive is if she stays close to the Watcher.

Premade characters in 3.1.0
I hope so. Then I'll be able to have two pets and bring Vela along at the same time.

The Adventures of Vela (Hylea's Challenge)
I only went as far as the cave, but the enemies didn't seem much interested in her unless she was the closest character. If she is not supposed to move during combat, then you can control her position by keeping the Watcher in the back and moving in later.

Nerf is enough. Buff is needed now.
InsaneCommander replied to Hoo's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I agree with that too. If I didn't have invisibility potions my rogue wouldn't be the same. With 11 guile, spending 2 to go invisible significantly reduces the number of times I can use other abilities.

The Adventures of Vela (Hylea's Challenge)
I couldn't play much, but it all depends on whether she levels up. If she doesn't, even the slightest effect will kill her pretty easily later on. Imho it would be better if you could equip her with something and maybe have some limited control. If her stats don't improve, even with equipment she will be really vulnerable and it would still be a challenge. If the random movement in combat is not a bug, this will be a reload fest. I'll report it tomorrow after I test a little more. It would be good if we could put her in the formation, even if she would walk away sometimes.

The Adventures of Vela (Hylea's Challenge)
It is! I think it is a bug, but she stopped crouching in combats and now she simply moves randomly during combat, walking to enemies, inside the are of effect of spells...

The Adventures of Vela (Hylea's Challenge)
I started a new game to check Hylea's challenge and here are some interesting things: - Vela is not on the deck during the first fight (against Benweth's crew) - She joins when you are free to move on the beach - You can't control her (to move her away or reposition her during combat) and she doesn't show up in the formation editor - She will follow the Watcher but she alternates between brief moments of moving and standing still (you can keep her far from combat by moving the Watcher) - She enters stealth mode when the Watcher does, but I'm not sure if she has a stealth skill level that is checked when enemies are nearby - You can't talk or interact with her, but she speak sometimes, including what I believe is a new line for her (about being safe with the captain) - She moves by herself even when you are standing still - When combat begins she crouches and feels afraid (see picture below), but I've also seen her simply walking as if nothing was happening, just beside an enemy! (see the other picture) - Playing with Skaen's Challenge is not recommended - She seems to have 20 HP (on Veteran) and negative defenses (see picture at the end). You can heal and affect her with chants. I didn't test buff or debuffs So, what are your strategies and experiences when bringing her along? Note: I didn't play much, so I'll correct anything that I got wrong later. Edit: one of the first enemies got an overpenetration after she bravely walked past me and Eder. Imagine high level enemies!

God Challenges Feedback!
Oh my gods! You can't control Vela!! Edit: I know it wouldn't be a challenge if we could leave her in a safe place, but even so I was surprised to see her darting around on her own.

UPDATE: v3.1.0 is now available on the Beta Branch
I can't import my PoE1 character when I import the savegame. Instead I'm given the option to choose one of the pre-made characters or start from scratch.

Premade characters in 3.1.0
When you create a new character: Pre-made characters (already included in the game): I think I found a bug. I can't find my PoE1 character when import a save. I'm given the option in the first picture above.

Can someone comment on the spellshaping?
I'd be real curious to know how it interacts with something like supprpess affliction or salvation of time which afaict have no PL scaling. I didn't check a priest, but for the wizard you can see both in the ability tree and in the spell selection during combat which spells can be adjusted. Maybe those spells can't be changed?

Premade characters in 3.1.0
A few questions: 1) Does anyone know if Eder's pet affects the party? And is Eder affected by the Watcher's pet? 2) Does this mean that you can cheat multiple unique items into the game? "Please Be Aware Be aware that you will be able to import characters that have unique items and that you will be at risk of unforseen consequences to gameplay if you choose to do so willingly. This of course also applies to characters that are imported/exported while cheats are enabled." PS: I don't have much time right now, but I'll try to find out.

Can someone comment on the spellshaping?
It allows you to use the "zoom" (mouse wheel) to increase/decrease the area of effect. I could only check it briefly so I didn't notice any indications of how the PL changed.

God Challenges Feedback!
It's perfect for my next character, benevolent and child caring. But I can't see a reason to have her when I play as a cruel priest.
