  1. Considering some endings, I imagine Eora is doomed. The factions would rather fight among themselves or abandon the Deadfire than work together.
  2. Good to know. My plan is to finish the game asap. I'll follow the guide and do everything that doesn't require combat. Then I'll do the main quest and try to beat Thaos. Since it's story mode and I'll have companions, I will probably do it and won't even notice. And I'll use this run to get a better idea of what is the mandatory path for an Ultimate run.
  3. I think I'll leave this for a future pt. It'll be in PotD and based on what people are saying the difficult is appropriate now. So no reason to make it that hard of an experience when it's just my second run.
  4. Glad to hear that. Looking forward to my next pt. Maybe I shouldn't bring Vela along...
  5. Actually this shouldn't be difficult. Eventually people will start uploading characters they used to finish the game in Magran's Challenge and all we will have to do is enter the combat in the right direction and the AI will do the rest.
  6. jesus christ, finally. it took only 4 months Why? Why didn't I know this?
  7. I imagine it doesn't change. Can you keep the Watcher far from the party and come later to join the battle, leaving Vela in a safe place?
  8. I'm trying this in the story mode to prepare for my Ultimate attempt. I might as well get the No Rest for the Pro and Relative Pacifism achievements when I don't have to worry about Trial of Iron and going Solo. How many kills did you end up with? I hope it is not that difficult to avoid killing, because I already invested some points in Mechanics and Athletics (to avoid fatigue). Btw, can I get achievements in Story Mode? And can I skip the WM1 and 2? Edit: I said I invested in Mechanics and Athletics so I can't reach a high level of Stealth.
  9. Lol. I do the same sometimes. I we don't even have Halloween here.
  10. I really like his work and his willingness to discuss with us here in the forums. I wish all the best for him.
  11. Oh, that may be a mistake. Only single class chanters can get Eld Nary and Eld Nary is very, very good in itself but even better when empowered. It scales wickeldly well with Power Levels. Add Stone of Power, be a Nature Godlike and pick Prestige + Empower and you might wipe most encounters. Chanters can use Sash's Singing Scimitar to get back the Empower Point they spend on an invocation (and get back 3 phrases as well). That means you'll get an empowered invocation once per encounter without spending an empower point. This also works for multiclass chanters of course and the get the Eld Nary base invoation, but only single class ones get access to Eld Nary's Curse which adds a ton of jumps to the invication. I mean besides getting all invocations a lot earlier of course. Here's a video of a SC Troubadour using Eld Nary's Curse: Also SC CHanter (Beckoner) will have earlyier access to double Instruments of Death and later the upgrade Song of Carnage - and those are really, really good. A nice invocation that works very well for offense is Evil turned Away from the Sun because for some reason it does the same dmg on graze as on hit because the dmg is fixed. It's great vs. hard to hit targets. Another good invocation which gets overlooked often is The Thunder Rolled like Waves because it targets Reflex but lowers Fortitude. And that's a rare thing. You can crack the defense of high fortitude enemies with it quite easily. Especially with its upgrade that grants an ACC bonus. If you want to do a really mean thing then play a Beckoner and summon Ancient Brittle Bones skeletons. Then grab Grave Calling, enchant with Chillfog on vessel kill and kill your own skeletons. Every dead skeleton will trigger a foe-only Chillfog and span two other skeletons which can also trigger those chillfogs. It gets really funny if add Many Lives pass by as a phrase. You'll just kill everything with Chillfogs. You can do the sane with your phantoms or Will'o Whisps, Hel Beckoning and Noxious Burst. *Takes extrensive notes*
  12. Seems like a balanced choice. I'd go with Berath to have more options and interact with the priests in Raedric's Hold. You seem to have an idea of what spells they have in PoE2, so just try to use them more frequently in this pt and ignore the fire ones. You can use the boots that give touch of rot and spreading plague to simulate having that spell in PoE1 too. There is also an item from a Stronghold Quest that can give you Rotting Skulls. Minor Deadfire Spoilers:
  13. Thanks for the explanation. I have absolutely no idea how I was otherwise supposed to understand this based on the patch notes. If you really want to have this on your "first" game, you can play for a few hours with one character and get some achievements. Until you have enough points to buy the Blessings you want (you won't lose the points).
  14. I agree that we should keep our expectations low, but sometimes I can't help it. In this case I'm expecting a dungeon a little bigger than Fort Deadlight. But I imagine it can be even bigger. I also hope every member of the Circle is there in person, just in case I want to end my Assassin run in a fitting way.
  15. I felt a kind of OCD with traps in PoE1 and 2, wanting to use all of them. But they are not worth even the time to place them, so in the end I just sell or ignore them. lol
  16. Good suggestions. I also imagined that the Watcher would only bring Vela along if there was some sort of connection. I'll only play with the Challenges if they make the game more interesting/fun for me. So I'm in favor of some changes because otherwise it will be rather annoying and I won't select this challenge.
  17. Did you go to that area before, left and saved you game? If you did, the PotD changes didn't apply. See here.
  18. If you place 5 traps in a line and attract the enemies making then move through then, it'll certainly help even more.
  19. And can they game handle that +24? What is the maximum PL allowed by the code or the way it is calculated?
  20. Truth be told, many players consider the game easy and would be much more interested in reducing the AoE to cause more damage to a boss or a stronger enemy. Let's see how this change with the new PotD adjustments.
