  1. I had the same issue, but then it seemed to solve itself (or was literally fixed by Steam while I was trying it!). Here's what happened with me: - Launched the game. - On the main menu, another menu popped up announcing White March II. I clicked on "purchase" simply to see if it charged me so I could pop on here and confirm there was an issue. - Instead, after a moment, Steam told me that it was already in my library. - Closed out of the game and sure enough, after a moment, the DLC showed up in my "DLC owned" and the expansion began downloading. Give it a try and hopefully it will work for you.
  2. I've been waiting all game to find the location of this famous "first" screenshot from PoE: http://www.dsogaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Pillars-of-Eternity.jpg But I'm at the end game and have never found it. Is it even in the game?!?
  3. My feedback on stronghold: 1. Each building should have its own little story. Perhaps a choose your own adventure pathway for the hedge maze, a series of conversations that you can have at the odeon, a special quest from the various store proprietors, etc. 2. Prisoners should have more interactivity - that if you sell them to slavers or for research, depending on who it is, there might be a follow-up (similar to how there was with a certain character regarding the Raedric's Hold situation). 3. There should be some kind of memorial to display your conquest of the Endless Paths, should you achieve it. 4. You should be able to dump off your excess pets in your home and have them wandering about. I'm sure there's more - I would love to see some of this built into the expansion. I love that I've been able to recruit some quest-related characters to work for me, too. That's another thing I'd like to see more of. Some eighty hours into the game and loving it.
  4. I just popped on to report a possible bug that might be related. On Endless Paths level 13, there's a hidden door in the northeast of the map. After trying to figure out how to open it, I looked it up. According to the game guide I looked at, there's a circular table/tablet in the center of the room with the hidden door. Pressing down on that is supposed to open the door. However, scouting did not uncover it nor were there any other identifiable triggers on the rest of the map. It occurred to me that this might be a post-patch bug and seeing the hot fix announcement here has me wondering if that's so.
  5. It hasn't proven to be a major factor (coastal aumana, white that wends, fighter, mercenary), but manifests here and there in interesting places. A conversation with Sagani about interesting sights led to a cute aside about how nothing looks as good as the borealis in the White that Wends, a guy vetted me for a job because I had a merc background, being an aumana comes up here and there, and all the various backgrounds have occasionally offered up dialogue options. It is done well, and certainly more often than I would expect and sometimes in unusual, but surprising and welcome, spots (like the conversation with Sagani).
  6. *ahem* I may (or may not) have found Resolution right when I went down to Level 4 in the gelatinous mass of a hideous Black Slime. I respectfully withdraw my inquiry. *skulks off in embarrassment*
  7. LOL, I asked the latter question a couple of days ago. I received no response. I kept him alive in hopes something revealed itself down the road. As for the first part, there's a high priest on the other side of the pit that, when revealed, triggers a pre-combat dialogue.
  8. There's a statue on level 3 that requires a sabre called "Resolution" be placed on it. I had a named sabre that I thought I equipped on one of my characters. However, checking now he just has a generic "fine sabre". the sabre isn't anywhere in my inventory and now I'm afraid that I somehow sold it (and it isn't in the inventory of any of the places that I sell to). So my question: - do you get "resolution" on a floor below 3 or should I already have it? - do sold unique items like that stay in store locations or disappear? - if I should have it and for some reason don't, can I console command myself a copy of the sword without enabling the achievement-disabling cheat codes? Thanks in advance.
  9. I found a sick xaurip. I had high enough perception to notice that his pain was being caused by ritualistic paint. However, there doesn't seem to be any other option other than to slit his throat. Is there a way to heal him that anyone has discovered?
  10. Gaben hates three things and two of them are joy and our happiness.
  11. I have the backer beta installed, and I'm pretty sure that I used one of my two game steam keys to access it. Does PoE install over that beta or do I need to get a new key to download the game?
  12. I backed that addition, so technically I am in that inn somewhere. I'm looking forward to finding myself in the game! :-D
  13. This right here. Everyone reading this forum has the ability to cobble together $45 and you are flat-out lying to yourself and us if you say otherwise. The game may be imperfect right at launch, but it will get patched. For that better experience down the road and for future games, it is worth supporting both this title and Obsidian at launch to give them the good press and good numbers they need when doing their strategic planning for future projects.
  14. I still have very fond memories of Wild ARMS which allowed me to invest much of my money in first rebuilding and then expanding and improving a town that had been destroyed early in the game. Kind of like all those "rebuild Kvatch" modes for Oblivion. I definitely enjoy the idea of having there be a macro-economy to invest your money in when you reach a certain point of influence and power.
  15. I agree that we need more respec in the world. https://youtu.be/Vqtg_JFGh6I
  16. Will we be able to pre-load it on Steam? I don't have a great internet connection, so I'd love the longer lead time to have it ready to go, especially if there's a possible day 1 patch in the works.
  17. When do the Steam codes go out? I'd love to have it pre-loaded and ready to go at launch.
  18. I don't want to make anything too in-depth (since I don't know all the work you've already done) so no names, just concepts. 1. A mad god of oblivion. Think of Azathoth (hell, have it *be* Azathoth) - a dark, hungering chaos that disrupts the order of the cycle of souls. In such a world, the idea of a soul being lost/consumed in oblivion is that world's hell. Such a god would be worshiped by the maniacal and sought after those overtaken by profound weariness, hatred, or self-loathing. The worship of this god is the crawling sickness which festers and grows in the shadowy corners of the world. 2. A god of valor. A god who walks among men in various guises. He innoculously asks for some favors or engages in conversation which secretly tests the player's worth. Think of Fizban in the Dragonlance books, Zeus in Greek mythology, Bahamut in D&D lore, or Merlin in Arthurian legend. Usually, he's that tale that children are told of so that they are on their best behavior in public, but for the curious wanderer, there are the tales (some of them actually believed) of encountering this god and the revelations (and feats) which follow. 3. Two gods with the same name but different (though equally irrelevant) values. There's great strife between the fellowships over which god deserves the name more and constant aggravation over public mix-ups. And of course this has resulted to the religions ultimately becoming based out of (and only existing) in a single city where the rest of the weary populous is caught in the crossfire of their ridiculous struggle. A player choosing to worship this god would actually open up a gameplay mechanic where you could spread word of your god to other locations. Whether you believe or not, one significant side quest would (of course) be resolving the dispute between cults once and for all. Anyways, that's my elevator pitch. If you'd like more, just let me know.
  19. Just to reiterate what I wrote earlier (and to reintroduce it into the conversation): I am not a fan of timed anything. However, it would be interesting if quests developed/turned out differently based on when you encountered them/what order you finished them. So not "timed" but definitely a matter of player choice and consequence.
  20. I was going to write, "No. Obsidian hates you and all of us" but then Adam had to go and post. (
  21. Just want to say that I definitely agree with this, both for purposes of creating a more fully realized character right at the start and also for using some of those details to seed story content in different parts of the world.
  22. Personally, I would not want time limits. However, one way to meet you halfway (I think) is to have quests turn out very differently based on what order you finish them. Finishing little Sally's mission before you save her dad might end up with her dad getting the chop and Sally going to the orphanage. Or some such things. So it's not a strict time limit, but rather how you choose to prioritize missions (or how you find them).
  23. Well, if we treat monks as having the traditional meditative/spiritual aspect, there's a chance to incorporate some interesting elements with them in the Eternity gameworld. It would be interesting if, as you leveled your monk, his ability to tap into his soul's past allowed him to harness talents and abilities from former lives or whatnot. Likewise, their ability to perhaps "stitch" souls - those souls that have fractured over time could make them invaluable (or hunted...or venerated). Monks themselves could turn to the order (the Obsidian Order? ;-)) in fear of their own souls or perhaps even just seeking to elevate their souls to a higher level. Maybe monks are family men, and given the way souls work in society, they're the P:E equivalent of 1st generation immigrants toiling away so that their kids can have a better life. It would be interesting to see a monk not be a combat machine, but almost like a bard - where the knowledge and past lives they're able to pull information from make them invaluable in ruins, looking at books, identifying people and items, etc - and a cleric - particularly the elements dealing with the relationship between man and soul, soul and gods.
  24. I think for me the biggest thing is that they set that deadline pre-Kickstarter. I can see how, even if they bring on extra staff, that's still a crazy turnaround for a game with Eternity's current scope (particularly the second major city and the ambitious Endless Paths). I agree in principle with the positive creative elements of deadlines, but on the other hand, I absolutely would err on the side of delaying the game to make sure they're not rushing to push something out the door. As the most successful Kickstarter to date, it's important that the game launches with much fanfare and minimal fuss. Some great comments! Thanks everyone who pitched in!
