I appreciate 3D games where light reflects off the shiny scales of the human characters because then I know that THEY'RE SNAKE PEOPLE3 points

Handsome Squidward is the wrong colour, and has hair. That is either the greatest or worst looking game ever.2 points

I just started my first ever replay of DA:I, and all I keep thinking is: how did I not remember this stupid/horrible aspect of this game from my first playthrough many years ago? There are just so many things about the game that I simply would not be willing to accept in any contemporary RPG. And somethings downright make the game *not* an RPG, such as distributing attribute points not being in the hands of the player. The only thing I seem to like about the game is its story and characters, so I've dropped it to 'casual' difficulty and am continuing with my playthrough just to enjoy my revisit of Thedas, especially given how much of a bust DA:V has turned out to be.1 point

Different effects are applied with this weapon on carnage attack, and each can proc a lightning from Avenging Storm. This is the only weapon that can interract with carnage, the only malus is the enchantment limited to Superb..1 point

Pathfinder 1e is often described as D&D 3.75e. So it does have a lot of the same rules and mechanics bloat of D&D 3.5e. For me, D&D 3.5e is the best D&D edition, so I have no problem with Pathfinder. But others will disagree of course. But overall, P:Km is a great game. I played it with the strategic subgame turned on, and I actually enjoyed at least some of the elements of that part of the game.1 point

So apparently Silksong is supposed to come out in 2025. I believe it when I see it.1 point

My sisters loved to cheat so that they could build houses...I, on the other hand, have always hated base-building or anything even remotely adjacent to it, so I was more the type to start with whatever is the default options they give you and never move a single thing ever. So instead I would spend a couple of hours customizing and playing dress-up with my character, and then I'd try to play the character, and then I would quickly realize that I really must be missing something because The Sims seems to have no gameplay, no interesting stories, and no characters that aren't just walking RNG dice roll people that don't matter. I don't understand The Sims, there seems to be a chunk of brain matter missing from my head that makes the game work for other people but not me.1 point

I did watch LadyCrimson's video, yes, and it was pretty awful...for a number of reasons. Beyond even just the character visuals, I think the game in general is extremely displeasing to view in real time, especially with the constant stutter and pop-in on what I think are already unpleasant visuals. But I confess that I'm totally unconcerned with stuff like lighting, shadow, model, and texture fidelity relative to general visual style/cohesion and animation quality, and while I'm no fan of The Sims (despite growing up with three sisters that played several entries of the series and who tried to have me play it despite the fact that I could never figure out exactly what I was supposed to be doing in the game to make it fun), I'd take its art direction a hundred times over Inzoi's. Different strokes for different folks, though - maybe a competitor would at least move EA to try to make meaningful improvement to the series.1 point

Dunno, I was kind of going to ignore the survey but now I feel like I see what's up .. They should get non completion figures, ie people who started and stopped before completion. They will also get when they stopped. I imagine they will also get some, uh, feedback in other ways on the idea. In the end, it's a bad survey and a bad idea. There is a section that let's you rate the idea more directly. That should have come before the 'pick three things five times that you think other people might like' section though for sure if they want an honest response since that section was bad. All 'imagine what other people like' sections are bad on principle and worthless statistically. Not a good approach even if you liked the idea. As it is it does rather feel like an MBA put it together to confirm the appeal of their brilliant ideas, but personally I tend to think it's just GOG being cackhanded again- let us not forget their marketing team thought saying their service was shutting down was a great idea at one point. The vibe is more overenthusiastic intern to me. A competent MBA would, of course, outsource to a controlled focus group to make sure they got the results they wanted and with minimal backlash. I do rather like them making the click through test (the question that determines whether people are reading the questions or answering randomly) extremely obvious instead of asking the same question multiple times with slightly different wording.1 point

Not that I feel strongly about it one way or another, but in terms of Inzoi, from what I've seen, it's one of those games that outside of the fancy chr. editor and maybe snapshot/zoom in modes, isn't that extraordinary visually. Especially if not on maxed out settings I'd guess. I mean 99% of the time you're going to be zoomed out so all sims are "top down far away", not selfie/studio-portrait views. Walking animations are ok but not great. City/homes/interiors are good but not "wow photo-realistic". Ground textures are meh. You can skip around this video to see this person running around the game a bit. I've seen what I'd guess are lower setting screenshots that look quite npc terrible, even. But still beats the Sims graphically by a country mile. Edit: which is what a lot of people want now, hence its pre-release hype. I've waffled between semi-interested to look at it and not at all interested. If it's ever out of early access and on sale, I might try it. Life/social sims aren't really my thing tho, so I'll likely forget about it again by then. And that Himalayan/Ragdoll or whatever cat gives me more weird uncanny valley than the human "sims".1 point

I would like to make clear something: I know that there are real life people out there who look approximately, in terms of real features and clothing/hair style, like the character depicted above, and other characters that you can see in official screenshots from this game. Somebody who looks like the totality of this character probably wouldn't draw a second thought from me in real life - I might not personally love their style, I might not find them particularly easy on the eyes or cute or beautiful or whatever, but that's a me problem, that's fine, I obviously understand that the appearances of characters and real life people in general should not and could not ever be specifically tailored to me. The specific issue is the "approximately" bit and how damned creepy it is seeing these horrible video game renders that somehow make them look so much weirder than they should, and it's why I always try to make sure to use the word "uncanny" instead of anything more pejorative like "ugly*". I searched for "inzoi characters" before I made my previous post and looked through a few pages of results, and I do not believe basically any person would be rendered well in this game's visual style - though there were some that seemed to be a little more and a little less bad than the others. All I can really say is...kill it with fire. *Though any game where every character looks like they have lip gloss on is always going to be an automatic no from me dawg, because there might very well be nothing on a human face I like less than big wet shiny lips, but again, that's a me problem...and it's also not even necessarily specific to just female characters: I've happened across random Korean and Chinese games on Steam Discovery game queues where this affects even male characters, and it's why I knew Inzoi was likely to be either a Korean or Chinese game.1 point

I've checked the Steam Community Hub for screenshots. There is some range of options, at least for the male characters.0 points

I had high hopes for that game. I don't think I even made it 5 hours.0 points

The survey about a GOG subscription service is terrible. You can't pick the option "f off, I hate subscription services". Instead they go "even if you do not find the service interesting what do you think other people could find interesting". In the end people like myself will quit the survey, so they will only get a limited feedback that will show a 100% interest in the service. And as a bonus they will get some people who will be irritated their time was wasted with a stupid survey (as demonstrated by this post).0 points
