  1. I stopped recreationally drinking around a year ago and the effects are profound. Ive lost ~9 pounds and I feel better than I have in decades. I didnt even know I was feeling suboptimal until I felt what it was like to feel optimal. That stuff is poison. Fun poison, but poison none the less. We dont drink pop at all and havent for years. Another poison right there too.

  4. I should say that I like the game. Characters, dialogue and gameplay were all very good. I just have some issues with the pacing and overall narrative.

  5. Trust me on this you wont be disappointed, find a way to watch North Water if you dont have normal access to it Its absolutely gripping and captures the harsh reality of that era and its very historically accurate around language and how the characters are portrayed. Apart from the main narrative, which is very dark, the protagonist Jack O'Connell has a side story as a British soldier who fought in India that is a big part of the events of the main story Its one of those series you can easily binge watch once you start

  6. Sounds interesting. Yes I'm a fan of historical drama, including the Aubrey-Maturin series by Patrick O'Brien. (If you ever want to kill a year reading books, that's a good series to tackle. )

  7. I am also watching AMC series at the moment The Terror s1 is excellent and s2 is good but not as good as s1. And they busy with s3 I am enjoying Mayfair Witches and I started on Interview with a Vampire I would highly recommend this series if you want a good Victorian era drama, its not a horror but if you want to see hardcore life of a whaling ship in the 19th Century this is a must. The characters really make this series especially Colin Farrell https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_North_Water_(TV_series)

  8. I came across that a fair amount, when I was doing research after the game lots of people mentioned " this idea was never completed " The whole Raven Romance apparently only initiates if you an elf and on certain dialogue options I was a half-elf

  9. I think she is the only interaction people consider a proper romance option. Even though, as most things with Arcanum, it wasn't fleshed out. Arcanum has the same curse as Fallout 2, so many ideas for npcs and no time to really work on all of them. Though with Fallout 2, with Sulik, Myron, and Marcus having the animated dialogues made it so much more obvious that there were things not implemented for every companion.

  10. Please report this post to the mods. Bruce's account was hacked. Or it is the invasion of the bodysnatchers. The real Bruce would have romanced Raven. This fake Bruce didn't even talk about romance options.

  12. I, too, cannot recommend The Terror S1 enough (never watched S2, heard bad things). The cast is something else, but also the story, the slow burn tension, the cinematography, the soundtrack - all components work very well together. P.S.: Terror's cast reminded me of Chernobyl which also works exceptionally well as horror, episode one in particular is one the best horror masterpieces I've ever had a pleasure to be chilled to the bones from.

  13. I haven't had a soda in years. Mostly I stick to seltzer then add a water flavor enhancer for a kick. My last alcoholic beverage was last October. Guess I'm getting pretty boring in my dotage.

  14. My sisters loved to cheat so that they could build houses...I, on the other hand, have always hated base-building or anything even remotely adjacent to it, so I was more the type to start with whatever is the default options they give you and never move a single thing ever. So instead I would spend a couple of hours customizing and playing dress-up with my character, and then I'd try to play the character, and then I would quickly realize that I really must be missing something because The Sims seems to have no gameplay, no interesting stories, and no characters that aren't just walking RNG dice roll people that don't matter. I don't understand The Sims, there seems to be a chunk of brain matter missing from my head that makes the game work for other people but not me.

  15. The first map is almost perfect. It ends at a very satisfying place. Most of my problems are with the kuttenberg map. It starts with playing as father godwin. All the father Godwin sections feel unnecessary and mess with the flow of the game. Really feels like they could have just been cinematics. This includes playing the final siege 3 times as Godwin. Once at the start, once midway, and then a final time during the actual siege. This might be a little my fault for not role-playing enough, but I felt very disconnected from Henry once arriving in kuttenberg. How it might be my fault is that I accepted every side quest. Mostly all of the side quests are "go steal this thing". If you were playing as an honorable Henry it feels like you would be locked out of 3/4 of the side quests. Sneaking and stealing feel unavoidable, but maybe it is avoidable and I just didn't avoid well enough. Finally the ending of the game felt incredibly unsatisfying. There are some plot points left open, but it doesn't seem like enough to make a full game around them. Maybe they could do them in DLC, but then you aren't getting "the real ending" without buying DLC. KCD1s ending was anticlimactic but had me excited for a sequel. KCD2 ending just feels empty. Maybe that's on purpose, the pointlessness of war and all that. Maybe it's to do with it being somewhat historical, so they can't have you doing anything that rewrites history. My mind might change as time goes by. While I reflect on the story. This is just how I feel on completion of the game.

  18. oh man, it was a bit of a journey trying to decipher posts and notes I wrote nine (!!) years ago, but i can confirm that the trap accuracy bug is in fact fixed. it feels so good to get this fixed, almost a bit in disbelief that it finally happened - i have an entire section of my old gamefaqs guide that i need to delete. as promised, a hand-written letter is on its way to the irvine offices. thanks so much

  19. Long time lurker, first time poster. Been replaying Pillars 1 since Avowed came out, and I was fiddling around with a 4 gun switching build with Arms Bearer, Quick Switch and Island Aumaua on PotD solo. While I was disappointed by the power of the build, I discovered some interesting properties about weapon set switching in the process. Switching allows you to replace the recovery of any action in the game. I looked through the forums and I don't believe anyone has posted about this in detail before, and certainly not the bug with switching that allows you to skip the reload phase of a reload weapon. First, the recovery replacing property of weapon switching. As you may or may not know, you can switch weapons at any time during combat. You can do this in the middle of any action, whether it be attacking, spellcasting, using a consumable or any other ability. As MaxQuest notes in their post about attack speed, All actions in Pillars 1 is separated into the action phase and recovery phase. If you switch before the action phase is complete, the action is interrupted, and you enter weapon switch recovery. If you switch during the recovery phase, your weapons switching time is added to the recovery. This is by default 2 seconds, and is reduced by 1.5 seconds by quick switch, 1 second by coil of resourcefulness. Here's where it gets interesting, if you switch weapons after the action is executed (not necessarily after the action phase, as the 'effect' of the action happens usually in the middle of the action phase, again refer MaxQuest's post on frame data) and before the recovery phase begins, you effectively 'replace' the recovery of the action with the recovery of the weapon switch. This can be reduced to 0 with quick switch+coil of resourcefulness. All of that was a very long winded way of saying that if you swap weapons quickly after any action, you can skip the recovery entirely. This exploit can lead to veeeery silly stuff, including but not limited to: - A 3 dex ranger in plate armor with penetrating shots and vicious aim firing arrows at faster than 0 recovery (you can animation cancel the part of the attack after the arrow is fired lol) - A 3 dex wizard in plate armor rapid firing spells - A 3 dex... you get the idea In any case, this is already game breaking, if not a bit micro heavy. I have seen some people alluding to knowing about this in the forums, but nobody has explained it in detail. And although this skips recovery, weapons with a reload phase like firearms can't be exploited to rapid fire... or at least that's what I thought, until hours into my run, I found out you could do that too... With reload weapons, such as pistols and blunderbusses, if you switch to another weapon set, then back to the firearm after attacking, it skips the recovery. Then, if your character is attacking an enemy, it starts the reload for a split second before skipping it entirely. With this bug, you could rapid fire any blunderbuss or pistol or any other weapon of your choice. Curiously enough, the crossbow is the only weapon I haven't made work with this bug. Here is a video showcasing the bug.

  20. Also, on a lighter note - it's not an actual song/music, but it did make me smile.

  21. I'm lucky that I have a few local spots that stock it, a Polish grocery store/butcher shop and a little Italian shop down the road always have it. My local Sprouts sometimes has it too. Before that I would order it for special occasions but I'd recommend trying local meat spots first. E: I put a random Houston address into Instacart and searched for it and Central Market has it listed but out of stock
