All I recall about that game Amerzone was a PCG review savaging it. But I guess can't beat the price...although Still Life 2 taught me that free can be too expensive2 points

Arcanum is the one game from that era that I also have never played, but which I have wondered about playing. And then I keep telling myself to wait for a remasterd/enhanced version to come out. But maybe I should play it now before it gets way too old to enjoy.2 points

I did some thorough testing. Imo it's impossible to craft superb weapon in Dawnshore because there is not enough paradisan ladder and this material as same as adra doesn't restock if player buy it from vendors. I tried to savescum gathering paradisan ladder with scavenger perk (scavenger 2 is required to optimal crafting), but the quantity seems to be predetermined. Some will always give 2 pieces and other 2 + 1, no matter how many times I reload the game. I restrained to picking up herbs until I get scavenger 1 perk. Optimal path is to buy fine one-handed weapon (it's critical because two-handed weapons require more materials), upgrade it to fine +3/3, use 9 adra gathered in Dawnshore to craft 3 pieces of awakened adra, then upgrade this weapon to exceptional quality. I recommend not spending paradisan ladder for upgrading armor to fine quality. During the quest with luminous adra it's best to side with captain Trevik and kill captain Bardatto to get fine breastplate from her corpse. Then it's time to gather all unique items. They will provide at least 8 awakened adra pieces and the ninth can be just bought in form of exceptionall item from any vendor - beware that Sanza and one of twin sisters have fixed quality of unique items determined in the moment you first time look at their stock. I did 3 speedruns of Dawnshore content. There is some inconsistence. For example killing Octav without checking his loot and going back for it with exceptional weapon sometimes spawn his weapon as exceptional, sometimes in lower quality - but I'm sure I didn't cause game to display tooltip, so it's weird. Sargamis is the same - sometimes I came back for Last Light of Day and it was exceptionall 2 times and one time it ended as fine weapon - even without triggering game to displaying the tooltip. Quality seems to be tied to the weapon you used while killing him. All unique items in chest have their quality determined if you are close enough to point at the chest to prompt "open" interaction. Even if you won't open the chest, the game will set its quality. It's best to avoid two chests with unique armors like Arcanist's Gambeson and Stelgaer's Pride until you kill captain Bardatto. @Lonion wrote that it's better to use common weapon as upgrading template. I disagree. Sure it doesn't require adra, but adra isn't an issue in Dawnshore. You can get enough even for superb upgrade. Paradisan ladder is the issue and common weapon needs gold and more paradisan ladder for quality upgrade. Nevertheless three times in a row I leaved Dawnshore with Exceptional +2/3 weapon with enough adra to craft 3 Corrupted Adra and missing maybe 5 paradisan ladder to upgrade my weapon to Exceptional +3/3 and then immediately to superb. Main crafting materials like branches and metal chunks can be bought from vendor because these are restocted. I crafted superb weapon in the starting point of Emerald Stairs, after bringing Yatzli the vase and setting up first camp in the region. Since then all unique weapons scale to superb (IV +0/3). If you won't exploit this system but still pick scavenger perk you should finished Dawnshore with at least exceptional +0/3 weapon (even two-handed) and fine armor.1 point

I would just pull a trigger and play it. I am doubtful if anyone will be willing to invest the money to give this game a refresh (though they absolutely should). Unofficial Arcanum patch is a must, like with all Troika releases. If you dealt with old Fallout interface, you will be fine with Arcanum. At least on GOG the game works from a get go. edit: Finally started to getting around to giving Kingdom Come: Deliverance a go. I like it so far, though the game works really hard to reinforce how much of a dufus Henry is. What I like less is how little agency I had so far. Henry seems to get into scrapes and challenges his betters and leaves me to deal with the aftermath. I hope the game will let go of the reins soon. I really enjoy the setting though.1 point

That inconsistency seems better now, Virgil focuses on the main character but also heals other companions. Its just important he has enough fatigue But I also use my healing potions and items to heal companions in battle Dont wait, it will never become too old because its a CRPG and it has lots of features and designs that are very worthwhile Just make sure you install the UAP (unofficial Arcanum patch). You can run it at high resolution with wide screen with this mod as well Use these install instructions for this patch https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=23113938231 point

It's been more than a month since "avowed" was released. Obsidian Entertainment & Xbox Game Studios said they would provide Korean and Japanese patches within a month, but it didn't update at all. When will it be updated Korean and Japanese patches? https://www.xbox.com/ko-kr/games/store/avowed/9nhrdqvfpq341 point

When Trump started repealing the ACA via executive order, you had a non-insignificant amount of people freaking out because they didn't know that was "Obamacare". They of course blamed "the left" for naming it two different things. It's just the voter suppression tactics they've been using for the last few years, require increasing amounts of security in the name of combating fraud while simultaneously closing off avenues to get through said security for the person who doesn't have ample free time and resources.1 point

It's pretty bugfree with the unofficial patch. But yeah, many of its elements need some overhaul. The one thing that I always hated was how Virgil tried to heal my wounded character over and over even though his magic had no effect on my technology-character for a long time. Kinda annoying.1 point

If they can afford to. I'd file this with a lot of stuff the right puts out that sounds good initially and starts to break down the more you look into it. I mean, ideally with something like this where you want everyone to verify in person then you would make it easier to do so instead of harder by closing offices and locations.1 point

Offensive Parry doesn't do splash damage but only single target damage. And the base damage of Offensive Parry is pretty low. For that Cipher/Ascendant (and any character I think) it would be more effective to keep standing there and attack with some ability - and use high deflection to trigger Offensive Parry and/or Riposte on top of that. This would yield way more focus in the same time than trying to force disengagement attacks by running back and forth. It's also a lot less annoying to do. A more excessive abuse I can see is to use a Keeper of the Flame + Fire in the Hole weapon set + Riposte in combination with immunity to disengagement attacks but also when immune to engagement: run through mobs and trigger either disengagement attacks - or force misses by moving out of attack range by running past enemies too quickly (Boots of Speed, Alacrity etc.) - and the Ripostes would happen with an AoE mortar shot + bounce which would not have any reload time. And I cannot see atm how this could be fixed. And I don't know if it must be fixed. I'm inclined to say no. It's just not an appealing way to play - nobody uses that. At least I never read about it.1 point

Now that Paradox has royally screwed it all up: Fampyr Bloodlines, make it happen.1 point

That's high praise. I like Avowed, but wouldn't but it near the top of Obsidian games. (Currently still in the 4th area, as I got sidetracked into replaying the PoE games)1 point

Hi, check this out! We found a big box in my father-in-law's attic and in it - among other stuff - was an old German youth magazine. "Why did he keep this?" we asked ourselves - until we discovered this: Awesome1 point
