Rewatch of Rebuild of Evangelion So now in general I think it gets better as it goes on, with 1.11 being a mostly superfluous redo of the first few episodes of the series and 2.22 trying to condense 15 or so episodes into a 2> hour movie. 3.33 feels like the arc Kaworu should have had in the series instead of a single episode and 3.0+1.01 is as satisfying ending to the saga as we're going to see and hits different notes than EoE or Omedetou to feel worthwhile. The main criticisms I had still stand though. On a technical level EoE can't be beaten by the cgi heavy Angels or headless nude bodies in the anti-universe, it just isn't nearly as visually appealing. It's also pretty much required that you be familiar with NGE and EoE to really get, Rebuild doesn't stand on it's own. And lastly....it's clear they flew by the seat of their pants making this. I still enjoyed it though and it'll probably be a part of any future rewatches of Evangelion.1 point

almost every single media in the history of audio reuses voice actors, unless you're a big disney movie. voice actors are expensive. like others have said now and before, i'd rather they spend more of that budget on content. oblivion had like 6 voice actors total ("STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM") and people still played it to death. (also they probably would've had more voice actors anyway if they hadn't paid to get patrick stewart and sean bean on the cast list, but that's another issues). it's only controversial if you make it controversial. this is a tell on you, not the game. I'm a male and am not such a beta that I feel threatened by a game having more women in its cast. This is a you problem.1 point

Then make it so that every wizard can only have a bound grimorie, meanning the grimorie cannot be swapped out. And the content of a grimorie would be automatically erased on retraining. Problem solved.1 point

PoE's grimoire system was easily exploitable because you could edit grimoires learn spells from grimoires, even the unique ones retrain characters which leads to a situation where you would write several grimories wit all you spells you learned so far, retrain and pick spells at level up that you didn't know already. Then alter a grimore to put the new spells in and so on. At the end you'll have all spells there are and all it costs is some money. All the spells but no grimore needed anymore. Not that I hated that, but I guess that was not the dev's intention. Hence the new grimoire system in Deafire: you cannot learn spells from grimoires but instead you can cast them directly out of the grimoire. Which isn't as exploitable but still feels "wizard-ish" I think. I agree though that being able to awrite a grimoire would feel nice. Not alter grimoires of other wizards (maybe those are magically "fixed" or locked) - but at least alter (or create) your own grimoire. Sure, it would be a more powerful mechanic than having to collect and curate a whole bunch of grimoires to get your favorite spell selection without having to pick them all at level up - but not gamebreaking I think. One could write down a collection of your favorite spells (or your favorite backup spells) which would feel cool and which would mitigate the need for multiple ones (maybe only the ones with unique spells, which is what most players are doing anyway). To counterbalance the mechanical advantage this would give wizards over other casters I would make it so that rewriting one's grimoire (or creating a new one) required pricy/rare ingredients which may also be used to enchant items. That way you would think twice about "wasting" grimoire ressources maybe. Don't know, just an idea.1 point

The list is a Google spreadsheet. I don't have the link anymore but you can google it with "woke games pillars recommended" iirc. I just saw it because Josh lol'ed about it on Twitter. I believe it's from those people who did that silly "woke game detector" channel on steam.1 point

Well i tried grave calling just to be sure and it works nicely, its very good because chill fog has low penetration crits help with that and also paralyze effect when you crit. Its also apply monk duality fire lash, lightning strike lash and cipher raw lash if you use community patch. Very satisfying build you can non stop cast cipher spells.1 point

It's a protected profession over here, like doctor, is it the same over there? I've had good experiences from my PTs, they helped me out with my back alot, working on problems with my shoulder right now. I'm not overly fond of chiropractors considering their origins, and I've never heard of one actually giving patients permanent solutions but people have to keep coming back. And I don't know of any licenced PTs that have killed or permanently crippled people.1 point

Wow. Imagine being bothered by the very existence of women! In video games! Weird.1 point

So I also became active in that so called self made activity and decided its great idea to lay down glass wool myself today for my house reconstruction. Not ever again. Hope tomorrow fun with hardened polystyrene going to be much smoother sailing. Fondly remembering digging drainage on the weekend now...1 point

I do not. I have three daughters and want them to play games like Deadfire and PoE, having fun and feeling seen by devs - without getting the impression that those games are catering to the hegemonic masculinity of some vocal gamors™. I had no problem whatsoever with women depicted as leaders, pirate captains, thugs, even gods - in fact I didn't even notice. When there's a strong female, the strong male counterpart isn't far away and vice versa: Castrol & Alvari, Furrante/Aldeys, Hazanui/Atsura and so on. Which was fair and cool imo. Is that different from our own history and current society? Sure. Does that make me uncomfortable? Absolutely not. Do I think that sales numbers had anything to do with this (in 2018)? Come on... Btw:1 point

Berserker's self damage is tricky, scales steeply and needs some experience to be fun. Non-Berserker Barbarians can be quite sturdy if you give them above average CON - because they have a very big base health pool which scales well with the bonus CON over 10 will give. Back to the quistion: Furyshaper/Beguiler for the win imo. It's an excellent combination mechanics- and theme-wise. I like the Willbreaker as main weapon. It can lower enemies' Fortitude and Will at the same time - both defenses get targeted by a Witch very often. The Fear Ward is very powerful if used right. Stats: mediocre MIG, high CON, DEX, PER and INT, mediocre to low RES.1 point

Brewster McCloud (1970). It's the third Robert Altman movie I've seen (3 Women and Popeye), and it's three for three so far. The man makes the most inexplicable but nevertheless entertaining films: he is a psychotic director, and I have no idea how he kept getting funding for his weirdo films (also why he was selected for making Popeye in the first place given his history of work...). I also just read that he's the one that discovered Shelley Duvall as an actress and insisted upon her appearing and starring in his films, which explains why she's been a major part in all three of the Altman films I've seen.0 points

I've had one really good experience with a chiropractor. He was really good and referred me to a good physical therapist and also had some notes for me to bring up with my primary care doctors. They also had an in house masseuse which was super nice and convenient. Then I moved away and lost that.0 points

From what I can find out online, for the most part, but there are some specific exceptions carved out for certain states. For example, I just read that there is a law in Illinois specifically allowing chiropractors to be able to advertise themselves as offering "physical therapy" despite having no degree-holding licensed physical therapists on staff. I'm not sure exactly why Illinois is giving a bigger platform to chiropractor hacks, but yeah, I guess it'll depend from state to state.0 points

Spot the zombie. Non-zombie animals don't like zombies. You'll see them duking it out here and there. When in stealth/crouched, you get to see where zombies spawn in to prep for dropping down on your head. Stealth foils that. Hah. Funny clipping. They spawned that way (they are "alive"/would stand up if I'm detected - but looks like the bricks fell on their heads.0 points

Playing around a bit with character ideas in Guild Wars 2... the new expansion gave the players "player housing". Never mind that you can decorate it, but it's permanent daylight, so nice when taking character screenshots (rather than having to hunt locations depending on the time of the ingame day) A claymore wielding "highlander". Insert Queen's Princes of the Universe sound track A dark elf assassin, wielding two daggers and two pointy ears... A hammer wielding berserker. No skull is too thick. I'll try to take a few shots from the new expansion maps during the week. They really are gorgeous. Soundtrack is nice too0 points

Arisen I do not think that she has a belt. I suppose, there is 1 outdoors background, which works for any time of day and any crowd density. The NPC does have a no-armour sprite, but neither is a robe. If I understand correctly, the game was written in French, then translated into English. At that point, I had seen Baeli once and was not aware that he had any family. "Your village was called Tosh'Seruc. It stood at the frontier between Pointe Benie and Tosh'Seruc". Lunacid Defeated the Abyssal Demon. Discovered that there it is possible to behead a zombie. Dishonored: Death of the Outsider Felt weird to see both NPCs I killed in my playthroughs. Mass Effect it is not. Accidentally jumped into the ring.0 points
