Okay, that's a matter of simplified description. I corrected in the mod description page (in the ingame ability description, it would be too complicated). The formula with BPM is 10+1/3*(foc-10), not 1.33x*(10+1/4*(foc-10)). Only the additional damages per focus spent is multiplied. The base damage isn't multiplied. Since focus generation with biting whip is only ~75% as with draining whip, you are still paying "a little faster" the initial 10 focus ticket with Draining Whip. Technically, Soul Annihilation isn't as efficient with Biting Whip as with Draining Whip. Soul Annihilation is as efficient with Biting Whip as with Draining Whip but with 2.5 less focus (so slightly slightly worse but you get more damage from the weapon part due to raw lash) OK, I'll check.2 points

I really enjoyed the Coteries of New York games, the first one had a bit of a slim plot but the art is super appropriate and atmospheric for the setting and they did a really good job with the cast of characters who really feel like they belong in the VtM setting. Shadows of New York was just chef's kiss. Loved the main character and the story was awesome, you had a good mystery that delt with a lot of the faction politics and it also had that bleak nihilistic element as well which fits in perfectly with Vamparism being a curse and not a fun existence. Apparently the third in the series will be the last one, which makes me a bit sad because these games filled the void for me now that LA By Night have stopped doing their show but if they stick with their tragectory then Reckoning of New York is going to be really good. I did enjoy Heart of the Forest, I'd been very curious about Werewolf at that point but had never seen a rulebook for it. I guess it was a good introduction to that world but it felt really brief and I didn't really understand the structure of a werewolf tribe and basically was left wanting more, it did help me understand what werewolves were in the World of Darkness though and I think it did a decent job of introducing the concept of Gia. I need to pick up the second one, I hope now that they've done some world buidling they focus a bit more on the plot and characters because I feel like the studio has it in them to make a great Werewolf game that's on par with the New York trilogy. I know visual novels have always been a niche market but I think Different Tales and especially Draw Distance are doing a great job with their iterations of it. I think if they added a good narrator and made a longer story they could tell a pretty epic adventure. We need more World of Darkness games, it's such a good setting.2 points

Regarding the original question, Ciphers do not have a lot of great single target damaging spells outside of Disintegration. Amplified Wave spam is pretty good on Ascendants if you are fighting a crowd. Against single targets ciphers mostly play a supportive role with Ancestor's Memory and Reaping Knives (high DPS weapons that also help a lot if target has high armor). Also consider Psychovampiric Shield (-10 resolve makes target much easier to hit, and makes all other debuffs last much longer) and of course Detonate as a finisher.1 point

Next two bosses in DS2 defeated. Old Iron King and Congregation (yes i know, I know ) Pretty straightforward this time, although, as always, I have messed up few times Both Iron Keep and first half of Brightstone Cave Tseldora, were more like training in patience than anything else, as the mobs have been pretty aggressive again, but doable. In between running from a bonfire to a bonfire, I have visited the Belfry Sol for Mad Warrior Bell Keeper Covenant grind, which is needed to be leveled to rank 2, due to one spell needed for Platinum Trophy is available only by this means. Pretty boring grind... And what makes it even more boring is, that you cannot predict when he spawns, so you have to run up and down the ladder like a clown, until it spawns. On PS3, you can hear the Blu-Ray spinning loud every time, he spawned, so all you need to do, was to spawn Rest at Bonfire button until you heard a loud noise. Not anymore on other platforms Anyway, Old Iron King has been defeated on second try with the help of local summon, due to me typically dropping to lava due to losing focus for a second or two Congregation on the other hand, has been defeated on first try of course. The only issue were the Falconer Guys running and sniping around first bonfire, which are new in SotFS version of the game, and me forgetting how to spawn Bernhart of Jugo for his quest. So I had to backtrack a lot a clear the road to the boss room few times, before I could finally enter the fight. I have also picked up few of the loots around the second bonfire at Tseldora, and asked Blacksmith Ornifex to craft my first boss weapon - Dragonslayer Spear, whih I loved to use in my DS Reamster walkthrough. Unfortunately, I will probably not be able to wield it this time, as it needs much much more Dexterity to use, and I am investing more into Strength and Faith this time around But we'll see. Lightning Heide Lance+4 is fine substitute for now.1 point

I know you can, I used Torrent for the invincibility frames you get when mounting and dismounting, and it does help to close the distance, because this is supposed to be a boss weak to physical damage, but I eventually killed him with ranged lightning attacks.1 point

Yes and thats the strange thing about the insurgency and wars in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso and the temporary global "attention " it received Most people dont know anything about these countries or the conflicts and they considered some of the most poorest and underdeveloped countries in Africa. But suddenly French flags get burnt and the French military leave and Russian and anti-Western SM propaganda creates interest for a week or 2 and then people move on Yet the insurgencies have been going on since 2012 and only with the French leaving did it create any temporary interest or activism. Its an example of the misplaced and fleeting interest that SM creates and encourages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamist_insurgency_in_the_Sahel1 point

It is indeed prestige, plus "influence." It is about Russia reestablishing itself as one of the great powers of the world, given that many (especially politicians here in the US) have questioned or challenged Russia's great power status.1 point

You can ride Torren now, apparently! I wonder how it plays now - it felt to me like it should be a torrent fight, with all the long running, and potential jumping over ranged attacks.1 point

At last, I might be able to carry enough "stuff." **just kidding. I do modify backpack size (the money/gold line is where I normally have it, default is 3 rows less) but outside of "godmode" you could not fill that many slots and still be able to move, even w/maxed bonuses, heh. 1.0 made the general center X center cursor huge tho, and I've been trying to figure out how to make it smaller. It's the one that shows up even if your "hands" are empty, just a giant grey X. I can make text used in UI's smaller, make the UI generally smaller, alter pieces of the UI (like health bars, toolbars) change columns and rows to silly levels, make that center inventory/chr/crafting/storage window-area the size of a dot if I felt like it (you have to make the center bit smaller to have such a tall rows inventory) and there's ways to remove the ranged weapon aim-down-sights crosshairs etc, but I can't figure out how to make that stupid X change. There's also this giant white circle icon that shows up when repairing/upgrading blocks. Maybe they're an actual image. Still, must be a way to scale it somehow....1 point

Mail Time Can't say that I find substance abuse jokes particularly funny, but I have collected all mushroom hats. The end-game indication is very clear. Cookie Cutter Defeated Puanani. Firstly, the late-game NPCs seem to lack portraits, secondly, I do not get the humour. And the icons bugged out. The miniature versions of the previously defeated bosses are featured as regular enemies throughout the final area. Also, the larger versions of regular enemies. The insta-killing spikes became unavoidable. The game did not pause when I trapped in the dialogue, so the guard on the left continued hitting. There are random terminals with lore. Final boss and ending. Pumpkin Jack The game is surreal in the same way as the older platformers.1 point

I wonder if that difference is a difference in quality or a difference in time zones? Being a GMT+1 kid living in a GMT+10 adult (and lived for a few years in GMT+12 too), I'm painfully aware of the effects of time zones...0 points

typical Elden Ring that's the last boss of the game, good thing it's not visible in the pic behind all the crap it threw at me.0 points
