  3. @PK htiw klaw eriF None of the PC Souls games were ever technically unplayable with a M+KB: it's just that it was way more finicky and the learning curve was much higher, which naturally results in players having a worse time and there being a higher likelihood of quitting early on. But I knew people who played even Dark Souls 1, the game that easily had the worst PC controls, with M+KB at a high level. I only played about two hours of Elden Ring before I quit and uninstalled it forever because I pretty much categorically disliked or hated every change in gameplay compared to Dark Souls, so I never tried it with a M+KB, but I would still recommend gamepad, especially because it's my impression that the Souls games got increasingly faster-paced, more difficult and complicated, and just generally more unfair towards the player as FromSoftware went along, so jumping into Elden Ring as your first FromSoftware Souls game seems like it might not be the smartest idea even at the best of times, i.e. before you throw in trying to play with M+KB. If you need recommendations on a specific model, I might be of assistance there...unless you want a Playstation-like controller, because I don't do those. A decent Xbox-like controller will run you probably anywhere between 40 and 60 dollars...cheaper than that and you're likely to get something that feels bad. @Humanoid Is Cyberpunk 2077 actually mostly playable without fast-paced shooting and stabbing? I played just a little bit of it but it seemed like the focus on how it wanted me to handle encounters was all wrong and I wasn't into it at all, but maybe I should've tried sticking with it a little longer. @majestic Okay, now I've watched the hbomberguy Fallout 3 video. It was kind of funny to see him mention Moira as one of the few bright spots in the game, because I had completely blanked out her existence up until the moment he mentioned her but instantly remembered liking her a lot too. When that game came out and I played it, the overbearing internet commentary I saw on the game was that it was "Oblivion with guns", and really, I feel like that's still pretty much spot on, so I never even really questioned the fact that it had the same old terrible writing and quest/story/dialogue outcomes, or that it just vaguely painted itself over with the Fallout setting while missing all the nuanced details that made it special to fans, or the various systems around the combat not meshing well together. What I mostly remember is the fact that I had started playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl before Fallout 3, and so I really disliked both the open world and combat design, which is unfortunately something that I wasn't able to get over for with New Vegas, even though I knew New Vegas was much better in practically most every other way. If somebody could Stalker-ize New Vegas' combat so that your stats don't affect the damage or accuracy of weapons (outside of if you use VATS, maybe...which is not something I ever liked using in either games) and adjust the power and/or concentration enemies to match that new design philosophy, I might be able to play it. That sort of thing is a big part of why I've always stayed away from most RPG shooters that aren't Stalker.

  4. Sure, on the one side Trump is backed by a group that wants to dismantle the Constitution and make the USA a theocracy, but then again Biden's old(er than Trump by 3 years).

  7. To be a radical centrist for once, I firmly believe that both Biden and Trump have dementia and should be retired instead of running for President. There's a sick irony in that the only generation that will be able to retire just won't.

  8. The King Kong Pro 2 is still pretty solid, but there are now better controllers out there - with the advent of hall effect controllers, it's been a rapidly iterative marketplace. The GameSir G7 SE and the new 8Bitdo Ultimate 2.4G (not to be confused with any other cheaper previous generation Ultimates! I hate it when companies release different models with the same name and expect the consumer to just figure it out...) are both good mid-end options - if you're always going to want to use the controller wired, I'd probably go with the GameSir G7 SE, otherwise the 8Bitdo. The GameSir G7 SE also has older-styled membrane buttons, which some people prefer but others think feel bad ever since mechanical buttons became a thing: if you end up trying it and don't like it, I'd return it and try the other one. If you don't have much experience with either, it may not matter; I don't mind either way personally, but I do generally prefer membrane gamepads for playing retro games. (e): Why is there a giant empty spot after the first link? Wasn't there when I posted, but it is now: thanks, forum.

  9. Or - and I know this is a radical idea, but hear me out - we could do everything we can to ensure Trump and Trump aligned politicians don't get elected, so we never have to find out what Trump would *really* implement!

  10. The King Kong Pro 2 comes with rebindable controls, and it has the regular Nintendo layout. It costs a bit more than 50$, but it's not impossible. Unless you mean your JoyCons, in that case, uh, yeah, you would not really be able to play games requiring precise intputs with those.

  11. Well they are loud and proud about being Christian Nationalists so that certainly fits. If anything their objection to Nazi comparisons would be that the Nazis, who pioneered privatization and were admired by arch-bourgeoisie Henry Ford, were not nearly pro-business enough.

  14. Mostly yes, you can ghost the vast majority of quests. In terms of the base game, I think it's one mandatory midgame boss fight and the endgame one. There's a series of sidequests where it's kind of nothing but hunting down mini-bosses, but for all but one of them (there are over a dozen) I found stealth takedowns still worked fine. Occasionally you'll have minor sidequest content where you might be talking to someone and they pull a gun on you and you shoot them dead, over in a couple of seconds. Can't really call that a combat encounter, just a slight extension of killing someone via dialogue option.

  15. From what I’ve read, the Gothic Remake was really bad. The question is, was it bad due to the PB, or Embracer? But it might give us few hints, why they have been closed.

  16. Best Wildrhymer for me is a Troubadour/Arcane Archer with the unique arbalest Spearcaster. Arcane Archer will max Arcana anyway so he might as well profit from the bonus ACC of the arbalest as well. A @NotDumbEnoughsaid, Wildrhymer can shoot reloading weapons very fast bc. of Gunner + Sure-Handed Ila (it applies both the -20% recovery AND -20% reloading buff to all reloading weapons!) and some nice items. Because of that I always keep the modal of the arbalest on and prone every enemy I hit. It is possible to almost prone-lock any single enemy that way that isn't immune to prone. The ultra high ACC of items + Spearcaster + Arcana + Ranger abilities makes it unlikely to even graze. On top of that you have the insane CC aspect of Pull of Eora and Binding Web imbued shots. With Driving Flight you will trigger 2 Pull/Web AoEs with one shot each. And then you will also have summons plus an Animal Companion.

  17. The two people who head up Project 2025 are former Trump staffers. Because Project 2025 is divisive, Trump has publicly disavowed knowing anything about it (in the same social media post where he also said he disagreed in large part of it, despite not know anything about it and also wished them well). But much of the things that it talks about are talking points used by the Trump backers, Trump aligned politicians, Trump supporting media and Trump himself (particularly the deportations/secure border stuff). So I find it hard to think that Trump wouldn't try to implement much of this if given a chance.

  19. Wael was for RP and just general survivability but I was considering Rymrgand just because of the extra damage-types options it has. I'm not adverse to modding and play with the community patch so that's not an issue.

  20. I have nothing against the Sicken effect, CON isn't even the most resisted affliction. Forbidden Fist pays a high price for getting a CON debuff. It is a really neat effect to give to a DPS attack. You can put it on a ranged attack, or Full/attack, AoE attack, multihit attack, which FF can't do. Rogue has a less flexible 2 guiles CON inflicting status. Also the Acid KW can get benefit from the elemental talent, and Helm of the White Void ensures some build potential vs CON resistant foes for endgame. Really my biggest issue is that the lash value feels too low. Early game, the Sicken is enough but it needs a slightly higher floor utility vs CON resistant foes. Basically I plan to implement a 10+0,5xcharlevel lash. So it ends up as a 40% dual elemental lash. It is cost efficient for pure DPS. +10 accuracy and +20% (+40% with my BW change) and the PL scaling makes it the second best attack below BPM accurate wounding shot. FoD also has a lasting upgrade and is instant. Interrupt isn't in Paladin portfolio, and I don't want to change this to much. Anyway, let's talk about Darcozzini. It is a good fraction of a Lvl 4 Wiz spell. The only thing it lacks compared to it is a good scaling. Base 7 PEN + 0.25 pr PL is too low for a subclass defining ability. So I plan to rise it to +2 Acc/PL and +0.5PEN per PL. HOWEVER, I came to realize that flame shield is a meh tier 4 wiz spell as a whole. 10 retaliation damages isn't big, it isn't reliable (requires getting hit), it pales in comparison to everything that looks like an actually DoT and is rarely worth a slot. Wiz get a Tier 8 retaliation spell that deals 35-50 damages with crowd control included. OK it is Tier 8 but is still way too good in comparison. So basically I plan to set all fire retaliation effect to about twice their current values (so Flame Shield 16-24, Darcozzini to 8-12...) What do you think ? Now Goldpact. +4AR is great for Paladin, it works against the next 5 attacks (Iron Skin is 10 attacks). The neat thing is that Grazes don't count. Then why do I never use Iron Skin ? Why does Iron Skin feels so underwhelming ? Answer is simple : because Llengrath Safeguard is too good. +5 AR with a reliable duration, +20 all defenses, a relatively easy to get condition... I came to the conclusion that Llengrath Safeguard has to be nerfed. BUT this spell is really a basis of Wizard class, so I don't want to nerf it in a way that hits too directly Wiz build. I just want somehow to make Ironskin more appealing in comparison. So my proposal is to add 4s recovery (already has a 3s casting) to Llengrath Safeguard. No strict power reduction, just a way to feel quasi-instant Ironskin more convenient in comparison. Finally I admit being annoyed by the unreliability of disposition based effects for building a character. But it has nothing to do with Balance. So I plan to release another mod that replaces Disposition Scaling by a charlevel scaling for Faith&Conviction, Deep faith, Holy Radiance and Spiritual Weapons.

  21. Restoration and basic reformat of what was in the original post based on the Wayback capture. Replaced all the s (Unicode unrecognised character) as best as I could based on context. Though I wasn't sure whether some or all of the Phases were supposed to be a bulletpointed or numbered lists so just went all bulletpoints. Otherwise, removed the "Ezboard" link as that service appears to be defunct.

  22. I'll see you and raise you five Madame Web (2024) I know that on forums like these we often engage in hyperbole and exaggeration, but I can sincerely say that this is easily one of the worst films I have ever seen, if not the worst. On every single level this movie just ****ing sucks, from the bad cgi to wooden acting to a plot so damn stupid even by the stupid standards of superhero movies....it's just ****ing awful. Luckily I fell asleep for a quarter of it.

  23. Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). I sat down and watched this from beginning to end. The whole thing. These movies are just terribly constructed from about every possible aspect - most egregiously writing - but their one saving grace is they are very easy to make fun of and laugh at, not to mention the memes. This whole saga is basically Baby's First Romeo and Juliet Space Opera Parody, except the baby here is George Lucas. Don't ever let this guy back into the writing room...or the director's seat. Being easy to make fun of at least makes them more enjoyable to watch than the sequel series, which just hurts my brain and makes me want to initiate a system shutdown. It's something.

  25. Hey there! Ancient thread I know. But there's an error with Josh's excellent advice to mod makers that I'd love to have fixed. The advice really was a gold mine of great tips on job to avoid pitfalls and problems while making a megamod. After I finished Fallout: New California and moved on to making our own games, modding comes up a lot, and my own advice having survived to release a megamod is always -- read J E Sawyer's pinned thread on the Obsidian Forums. I did and it was a massive help. If that could be restored I'd be greatly appreciative. It could help a lot of people excited, but naive, and about to make some mistakes that could be avoided.

  27. Hi folks, sorry for the delayed response, we've been heads down working on the deployment of this patch. We're anticipating to release in the coming weeks, we're just locking in deployment on the various platforms now. Currently we are targeting Steam, Game Pass, GOG, and Epic Store for PC. We've also been working on Mac and Linux builds, which we're hoping to push in a separate patch along with more continued improvements and bug fixes. Thank you all for your patience and support.

  28. Thank you for supporting this game all these years after the original release. Is PoE2: Deadfire also receiving an update in near future?

  29. Greetings! To anyone having difficulties finding the public beta, our apologies for not specifying - the beta branch does not yet support Mac/Linux, this is something we're investigating. Sorry for the confusion, I'll keep you posted if we make progress on this front. Also, for comments on One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger and other Deadfire pack soulbound weapon groups, I'll make sure we correct that for the next build of this patch. Thanks for the support on this one. For answers to other questions, see below! @Mraicor One trap per character and/or trap talents. This is a little outside the scope for this patch, but there's definitely a community desire for better trap archetype support and it's not outside of possibility for a future patch. I'll track this and put it to consideration. Thanks for calling attention to it! I'll also make sure each of the other issues you reported are tracked and investigated as well (Korgrak, The Old Watcher, Deadfire items (mentioned above)). Thanks for the support! @Kvellen Output logs should exist at - [Your LocalDrive]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\output_log @Space-Cadet No PC controller support at this time. Though, if the opportunity presents itself, it's something I'd like to investigate in the future. @DicesMuse This patch is focused on PC at this time. @Macklin I'll have to investigate the missing commentary tracks, if we have access to them we may be able to restore them in the future. Thanks for calling attention to the issue. @beger Thank you for the support. We've tracked the text size discrepancy and will investigate. @Cerebro83 We've tracked the VFX issue with the Cinders of Fate quest, thanks for your support! @VerNOX We would like to investigate all mods that provide fixes to known issues of the game to ideally incorporate them. Though please bear with us as we work to catch them all. In the meantime, you may wish to use mods for any we have yet to address. Also, thank you for reporting the high-resolution sharpness issue, I'll make sure we investigate this as well. @kronozord The public beta is on Steam only, but when the patch goes live Epic & GoG is expected to be included in the update. Also, this patch has no relation to Avowed, we simply love all of our games and the fans that play them and have an opportunity to make some improvements for everyone involved. @sirrus233 I'll put the suggestion for the original title screen in our database, it would be nice to see again. @Mister_Nobody We'll need to investigate this issue further; do you happen to have a save game you could provide to our support team? If so, we might be able to track down the root cause more easily. If not, we'll do our best to reproduce it on our end with the info you provided. Either way, thanks for letting us know! @Silvaren Thanks for reporting the athletics issue, I'll make sure it's tracked and investigated. @Nightwing32 I'll get the lack of mercy option tracked and investigated. Thanks! @davoker I'll make sure we investigate these issues, especially Psychic and Brutal Backlash. Thanks! @Chaospread I mentioned One-Eyed Molina above, but thanks for also reporting the inconsistency with Korgrak as well. I'll make sure this is tracked. Thanks! @warralek We plan to give the patch a healthy runway to make sure there are no big issues from the engine upgrade, during this time we may update the build version on the public beta once or twice before going live. There's no set timeline for how long that will be, but if we don't see many new issues, or we've resolved most of them, we'll wrap it up and investigate other issues. Thanks everyone for your participation in this beta, your feedback, and your dedication to the game. EDIT** - Also for those that are concerned about your favorite mods that may become invalidated on Steam after the patch goes live, we are investigating moving the current live version to a legacy branch when the new patch goes live. This should allow those that wish to continue their existing playthrough with their current mods to do so. And will give some runway for any popular mods to be updated down the line. More on this as we get closer to release.

After she finally unlocks her powers and can be in multiple places at once, she just stands there and in about as much time as it would take to walk over to each of the spider women she magically appears one by one in front of them, does the barest minimum to help, then gets knocked down and that's over.
