  2. While I wait for <<The Old World>> Core Rulebook and <<Forces of Fantasy>> to come back in stock I thought it high time to finally finish a kit that languished in my pile of shame for too long: Spoiler filter for a, shall we say... slightly spicy banner design:

  3. I mean all of the books had relatively quick culminations. A battle happened, these guys won, closing dialogue. He doesn't go in to much details. Maybe it's worth some money now.

  4. Restarting that now, forgot how much I like Bellonda (BH and KJA's handling and killing her off in their books is a small reason they can both get ****ed). Book 5's ending seemed very rushed. My paperbacks are indeed shoddy as well, half of book 5 has Paul referred to as Maud'dib, then switches to Muad'Dib. And in book 6 one page has "Honored Matre" replaced by spaces. I get a kick of defective books, favourite example was a Warhammer 40k book that had 6 pages from a different book entirely inserted into it.

  5. Amazing! The first image will be perfect for the Deadfire version of my character.

  8. I mean book 3 is just as good if not better. Book 6 tried to do a similar narrative to book 4, but as I said it did have a character to carry it. If I had to order them it would probably go something like 1 and 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 and 2.

  9. No mod. You can buy a barber set to give to prisoners to increase loyalty. It basically let's you alter their appearance a bit (hair, facial hair). The concept is that you have male prisoners and you let them shave, showing them you trust them with a small blade.

  10. Incidentally, this is not a new phenomenon. Medically / psychologically, it is profoundly disturbing. For a historical example, read Don Quixote, the first part of which was published in 1605. It is a brilliant study of a person who is neither stupid nor uneducated but who happens to possess a black spot in his thinking that no amount of fact or logical reasoning can cure. And yes, of course I know Don Quixote is a fictional character -- but the phenomenon is very real, and Cervantes treats it magnificently well.

  11. Stray Blade. Defeated the first main boss by face-tanking and hitting it with a halberd. Spent 2 hours running in circles before that - the goal of the past 7 hours was to find a way around several locked gates and collapsed bridges to the boss, so I suppose it is on point. Encountered 1 rather unpleasant bug - a weapon blueprint, thus, a skill upgrade, was not dropping. It was resolved by switching to the beta branch, then back. Story-wise, it is funny that the NPC companion wants the invaders out of the Valley, because they kill and destroy everything there, including each other, and this is exactly what the MC and the companion have been doing throughout the game. Except destroying buildings - the buildings are invulnerable. So, it is either some meta commentary or a ludonarrative dissonance. So, overall, the game is not terrible, but I would have felt bad if I didn't get in a bundle. Granted, another game from the same bundle tried to fry my CPU, so this is definitely an improvement. And the story might get better.

  12. The tithe is tax deductible, but only up to 400€ per year. As for the "benefits", well, you can have a proper Christian burial, receive the sacraments, have a church wedding and participate in communion. That is for non-orthodox Christians Churches, and I have no experience with congregations of other faiths. All for the tiny price of 1% of your yearly base income before income tax (your yearly gross income after all prior deductions, i.e. social social security, tax free income and payments specifically exempted from income tax, like our variants of a 401k). You have to calculate your tithe yourself, but if you don't, then the church will collect an estimate based on sex, age and education. Whether or not it is benefitial to let the church estimate your tithe depends on how much you earn above or below average. I have let the church estimate my tithe for years now, as they were generally way off the mark (to my benefit, obviously). How very Christian of me, huh? That is the same, you can just visit any mass, funerals or baptisms, you are just not allowed to participate in communion. Theoretically, that is, it is not like anyone actually checks your congregation membership when you partake. Data protection is just an excuse. Your parents sign you up via baptism, and at age fourteen you are supposed to confirm your membership through ritual, which I suppose is the same for the US offshoot of the Catholic Church, although I have to admit that I have not put in the effort to check. When you do, the moment you start earning an income that is not from any apprenticeship, the church will send you a letter, demanding money. The data your congregation has on you is simply your birthday, sex and place of residence. How much this is just a silly hurdle designed to prevent people from readily leaving congregations they joined is seen in the inverse: if I were to sign up for another congregation, that can be done directly with them. Joining? Easy. Leaving? Oh no, please go to your district administration and tell them that you want to leave and they will inform your congregation for you. Just to make sure nothing goes wrong. There is full separation between church and state here (in theory, at least), but the first couple of elected governments after World War 2 were lead by the People's Party (or, as it was called at the time, the Christian party) and had deeply Catholic roots, and thus decided to reinstate Austro-Hungarian Empire laws passed in 1868, but conveniently keeping the church tax law from Nazi Germany.

  13. Yeah, I interpret my relationships with random minor characters I've raised to maximum affinity as we're really good friends because there's no kiss or sexy time scene. However they do blush and they act really really friendly toward you at max affinity so interpreting that as a romance is not unreasonable, you can read as much or as little into it as you like. With Wilhelmina there is no ambiguity, it's absolutely a romance that ends with a steamy night of passion.

  14. I completed the Wilhelmina romance quest in DD2, it's called Every Rose Has It's Thorn. It wasn't what I expected... I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't that. It was a fun quest chain and I got a sexy time scene at the end, albeit a short one. I'm not going to post any pictures of it, though.

  15. As @melkathi said, this is Transiruby. It's a nice metroidvania, although a simple and easy one. And no, it's not available on GOG. The bike form was an interesting idea, but they should've made large horizontal areas to truly make use of it.

  19. Tried my hand at making some variants of vanilla portraits. Edited the watercolors to match the unused "female_godlike_earth_c" variants by Polina Hristova 1. I bumped up the colors a bit and changed the background to be more like the purple seen in his Deadfire portrait. Very subtle changes but brings it closer to how Deadfire portraits looks imo. 2. Think I have hit my limit as far working around this portrait.

  20. I'm completely fine and normal in every other way. I'm weight lifting like I always have, going for bike rides, I have energy, I'm active. The only thing "wrong" with me is that I have no desire to eat.

  21. The ability Spellbane is attached to the Spellbane ranged attack, that deal 10-15 corrode damage (4pen) and inflict (vs will) the status effect Spellbane, that proc on spell cast the Spellbane melee attack (melee is not meaning that cause a melee attack but more than a self cast thing like a modal) that seems interrupt but only with 50% chance. This last effect is weird : about the effect, this is a similar code for the Mage Slayer status effect (but with a TriggeronEvent thing, so only one time for Spellbane, and for 0.25chance *4 at max for the Mge Slayer Spell Disruption vs 50% chance only one time? for Spellbane). But the effect of the Mage Slayer proc another Status effect that proc the similar MeleeAttack (interrupt as self autohit on launching spell) while the Spellbane is writed differently - the status effect proc the meleeattack without the intermediary of a second SE. I dont know wh but the Engwithan hierarchs only appears 1 time so maybe their spell disruption attack dont work and nobody saw that before you?
