I didn't *know* but I had noticed that Grounded was rather prominent among Obsidian games. It appeared like something that sneakily snuck past other games in popularity. Well, now I *know* and in *knowing* I have become stronger.2 points

Hands up those forum oldies who knew Grounded was one of Obsidian's biggest games (pun unintended)? Might have something to do with the game pass thing. It had 15 million players already a year ago... https://www.gamedeveloper.com/business/obsidian-s-i-grounded-i-has-grown-to-15-million-players2 points

Oh how time flies by First of all, a thank you so very much for the BPM Absolutely monumental work, well-deserved of being called complete! Also wanted to say that I'm really glad that you posted this and to hear people are still going to be here and available although less active. I feel a bit guilty since I've always been a bit lurky (never had much to contribue to strats and balancing ), though it's always been a delight reading your posts and the discussions in this thread. And fwiw, I am still lurking the forum! Lastly, if I remember correctly, someone once posted this in appreciation of the BPM and I want to say I share the sentiment:2 points

The US Pentagon has failed its 6th consecutive audit. Nothing inspires confidence quite like pouring more and more and more money into a department that can't keep track of its expenses. Where does all that money go? Who cares, let's put yet more money into it! The US spends ABSURD amounts of taxpayer dollars on its military and its shockingly inefficient programs. Programs like the F-35. I'm too lazy to look it up, but I wouldn't be surprised if the F-35 was the most expensive piece of military equipment ever made. What do we have to show for all that money spent? Less than a thousand jets produced and they're not even particularly good jets. Sure, the F-35 can be deployed in many roles, but it's not very good at any one of them. Oh, and also it may just fly off on its own. There's CLEARLY a huge amount of corruption in the department of defense. While I have no proof, it's highly likely money is being skimmed and contracts are being handed out on the basis of favors and campaign contributions rather than value for the money. Seems to me that it would be imperative to clean this up so that we can get value for the money we spend. Instead, the plan seems to be turn a blind eye to the obvious corruption and pour more money into it. In my mind, that's a terrible strategy, but what do I know?1 point

Wait a couple months, it'll seem tiny again soon. I still debate with myself whether a 65" OLED could be made to work/fit n my computering room. ...I also debate whether I should buy another one before the TV's end up forcing you to connecting to the internet to even make the display simply function, thus ensuring you cannot escape their ads. I have never plugged the OLED to the net (directly), since it's PC/ps4 connected, and I'd like to keep it that way.1 point

thousand yard stare always reminds us o' dorothea lange subjects, or red badge of courage soldiers and refugees. what we saw in the pic were a guy who when his agent called and said he had been picked to be the face o' a national advert campaign for an industry leading brand, he told everyone-- friends, family, enemies, etc. the picture captures the realization he will never escape the photo. HA! Good Fun!1 point

The Empower mechanic will be gone completely. Blood Sacrifice only gives you back Wizard spell uses. It can indirectly give something to the second class, like giving Wounds for a non-Shattered-Pillar/non-Forbidden-Fist Monk, Heating Up/On the Edge for a Streetfighter or Blooded for a Barbarian - all through the self damage of Blood Sacrifice which can be nice synergies, esp. the Monk one. But in general the second classes' resources don't gain anything from Blood Sacrifice directly.1 point

Depending on how you define "early portions", playing an Azata ranger, for instance, does give you a significant advantage, almost to the point of appearing unfair. Not to the point of choosing unfair difficulty, however, but still. I mean, high OB + animal + Aivu = power early on.1 point

The last hurrah from Mimimi games will be out on Dec6, in form of a double DLCs for Shadow Gambit adding a new mini-campaign consisting of 6 new missions total. Both DLCs will introduce a new playable character and island each, and they will integrate with the base game (so new characters can be used for existing missions).1 point

Hi all, It's been a while since there has been no discussion on this topic, and the activity on the forum as a whole has been reduced a lot for a few months. I don't know if it is related to BG3 release (not playing myself, not enough time to launch myself into something as new as freaking real 3D) or just the semi-old age of the game in general. I think the mod has been stable for long enough to consider it complete and to take the time to thank everybody involved for this experience. I'm not completely quitting the mod (I would correct any critical issue) or even the forum but I just wanted to say goodbye and thank you before there is no one left here. Cheers to everyone who participated on this mod (it was my first mod ever), on this thread, on this forum or even on PoE1 forum ! My first thoughts go to @Noqn who made some of the changes for the mod, resident @Boeroer for all his advices even he was not a direct user (I presume) and @thelee for his Faq and general expertise. And for all the ones who "liked" the release post of the new versions, it always help keeping oneself motivated ! It's been a major hobby for a couple of years of my life, and I enjoyed a lot the community here !1 point

A version of "male_aumaua_c" without a beard, from a reddit thread. Removing the beard from the portrait kind of makes him look like the Nameless One from Planescape Torment now that I look at it. First portrait is by Anna Helme A facebook post credits the second image to Gerry Arthur. The style looks consistent with theirs, but can't find it in their portfolio. I am one who is among the living, I just usually wait for a few request to pile up and until I've found the original source. Original is Mathias Shaw portrait by Julie "Shuploc" Damgaard Knight 9/9/14 by Danila Kalinin1 point

There are two files named accordingly (something with Avenging Storm and something with Resonant Touch) in the mod folder which you can delete or rename (you have to rename the file extension behind the dot, too). That will remove those changes from the mod. I prefer renaming because it's reversible. If you need more info just say so - I can give you spefifics when I'm home (which might be in 2 hours or so). But even with the Community Patch's cap on Resonant Touch stacks: dual mortars are the best option for Resonant Touch imo. You then just have to trigger it in between Whispers of the Wind to set the stack back to 0. Key is to get enemies form tight groups. I do this by luring them with traps or a spell from stealth or unstealthing the tank first - also I like to combine a Mortar Monk with an Arcane Archer with Watershaper's Focus who can pull enemies together like crazy with Imbue:Eora and keep them there with Imbue:Web. With the Community Patch nerfs removed the stacks of Resonant Touch know no limit. So even if enemies are still standing after Whispers of the Wind usually you can just finish them off with Resonant Touch. It's not necessarily more devastating than let's say a Great Maelstrom - bit it's mostly foe-only, does enormous DMG right away, stuns all enemies and it's limitless as long as you can collect wounds. With Blinding Smoke triggering Avenging Storm it's def. more devastating than the usual PL 9 powerhouse spell. As I said: key is enemies standing near each other. If they are standing further apart then the mortars aren't that effective of course because each Blinding Smoke cone and each blast AoE will hit fewer enemies. Same is true if you want to use melee AoE weapons like Keeper of the Flame + St. Drogga's Skull or something: pull'em tight!1 point

I wanted to ask for a watercolour version of my character portrait from PoE I, but since i saw a lot of people asking "Aramintai" already I decided to set aside my lazyness and do it on my own following his tutorial (https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/91743-portraits/page-4?do=findComment&comment=1956411) and share the results with the community. PD: This is my first post here, so i hope the images are uploaded correctly.1 point

You know that terrible sound people make when they're slowly but surely dying? That awful utmost pity inducing wail of the reversal of the life process? That's the sound I hear from all these anti Cowboy Bebop Boo Boo the Fools, clinging to a desperate hope that the tide can somehow be reversed and cannot accept the fact that the world is changing in big ways. Stay tuned for 2071, we're just getting started here0 points

Just a pic as an excuse to say: GRAVITY IS FOR CHUMPS. ...or as subtitle: "What everyone does after they go back to a forgotten base and discover terrain and features have respawned, with a giant tree or boulder sprouting in the middle of your stuff." Every single base of mine that is more than the "base registration computer" is off the ground. ...7 Days to Die with structural integrity building rules this ain't.0 points
