Flamenstein
I really liked the original PoE and even though I personally like to fight against Humanoid foes in games like BG/Icewind/PoE - what really fascinated me was the Dragon fights. Every fight would be a struggle, insurmountable it seems at first. But then you defeat the monster and I just love that feeling of killing a dragon. So my question is this - do we get more Dragons to fight in PoE 2?
rjshae
Actually I'd prefer that the exceptional fights (such as dragons) be unique and memorable; not Skyrim main quest-like where I felt like I was constantly fighting dragons. 13 "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats." Well, that is true. But you remember that in BG 2 - you would fight multiple dragons, each being a unique one. What I'm trying to say, is maybe we could get a Dragon fight, that would be in the Main Quest somewhere? Have a build up with some dragonlings and Xuarip. One such build up quest would be really cool. Beholders aren't a thing in PoE, but maybe there can be some similar foe that would require a lot of preparation. Demons maybe?
PK htiw klaw eriF
We had 4 dragon fights in PoE+WM and they have said we'll see more dragons. However I want to fight Krakens and Leviathan more because seamonsters at sea. The best option would be a mega dungeon with an army of octopusmen(popvor iirc), zombie krakens, ghost dragons, and an ancient coven of liches guarding a powerful animancer from around the time the gods were created. Messier-31
This isn't Dungeons & Dragons, so dragons will be present, but probably not so much of them. 1 It would be of small avail to talk of magic in the air...
injurai
Yeah, I want creatures of the deep as well. Doesn't need to be full lovecraftian or anything, just sort of "here be dragons" but you know... not dragons. One thing I like about dragons though, is that the world is full of wurms and drakes. So Dragons are sort of something that even if you kill them all they will always come back for future generations. Dragons are like the result of a particularly long lasting wurm that has sort of ingested all sorts of power. But killing some "ancient spirit or elemental" sort of puts to end an age. So maybe things like that could be touched upon or subverted.

FlintlockJazz
Stop killing dragons! Dragons are people too! Murderers! Seriously though, am I like the only person who doesn't like slaughtering dragons? injurai
Seems like the people of Eora have a taste for dragon, so slaughtering dragons (or at least drakes) is good business.

takamorisan
Hope we get more variants like giants, abominations, elementals and so on. Not having a "oh its another dragon boss fight" feeling.

I'd rather ride them than kill them, stop with the dragon slaughter! I don't care much about killing them. Just encountering them. It could be interesting if we could ally with them, befriend them, decieve them, intimidate them, mess with their agenda etc. Just let them be some super powerful character without having to just kill them or walk away and never do anything else with them. Yeah, with the Adra dragon and the Sky dragon, at least theres a path that doesn't lead to fighting. I wish there was a way to not fight the Alpine dragon, but I guess he's too insane with his sickness to listen to reason. And that red dragon was all "NO! You gonna take my pretties! MY PRETTIES! MINE!" and we all know how dragons love their loot.
MaxQuest
Seriously though, am I like the only person who doesn't like slaughtering dragons?Reminds me of Geralt in a way) I'd say it also depends on what kind of dragons do we fight. Killing those from Dragon Age doesn't cause any remorse for me. On the other hand I wouldn't want to harm the dragons like Villentretenmerth or Saesenthessis. I wish there was a way to not fight the Alpine dragonThere is) You need 17 RES though (link). MortyTheGobbo
I think there definitely comes a point of... dragon oversaturation. Dragon-slaying is a noble tradition of heroic fantasy RPGs, but that's why it shouldn't become routine. I also agree that I'd like to see more types of "titanic" monsters.
nogreatloss
I'd like to see more types of "titanic" monsters. Absolutely this. Doesn't have to be all dragons, but more "epic boss" type fights would be awesome. I'm getting pretty hyped just thinking about ancient creatures under the sea that we could come across. Osvir
Odin Sphere! Albeit, the lore and story is pretty much centered around dragons. But definately the best dragons in any game in my opinion. I also like the way Shadowrun handles it (dragons that can take humanoid forms). Might be getting one of those in Deadfire? Sedrefilos
What is the precedence for Dragons taking on human form? I never understood that. Not sure. First time I came across a dragon taking human form was in the original Dragonlance novels. It made sense there, 'cause dragons wanted to mess with human politics incognito. It might be rooted to some mythology though. I wouldn't be surprised.
