Yes there was too much hacking and they phoned in the dialouge. A maximum of four options because there are four buttons on the controller keypad, same reason you can only have 4 augs active at the same time. Fallout 4 style, albeit a bit less dumb.

Don't blame that on controllers, deciding to put 4 of anything because of "4 buttons" would just be lazy design, plain and simple - especially since there've been an insane amount of games already with no such limitations in place.

One aug is litterally a cheat sheet that allows you to pick the more desireable outcome. As in Fallout 4 a huge disconnect between what you want to say and what you are allowed to. One particularly jarring example was one of the major NPCs complaining that you had killed his men while breaching his lair, and I had been extremely careful not to. After that I stopped caring about lethal force and killed guards left and right, the game didn't seem to care either way. No one commenting on Jensen's trail of bodies.

That's definitely a bug (or someone died accidentally.)  He thanked me for not killing anyone.  I had a number of comments about my lack of a body count so far.

Yeah, one can easily use controllers to scroll a list up and down, instead of assigning an option to each button. Mapping 4 active abilities to 4 buttons makes some sense, but doimg the same to dialogue is just developers being crazy or conspiring to reduce how much writing must be done.

HR had that bug, where tranq darts would sometimes kill people. The game gave no feedback either way, so you completed the game and didn't get the pacifist achievement, because somewhere early on someone had died when you knocked them out.

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

Afaik it wasn't the knocking out, but bodies clipping into the surroundings that could kill them. E.g. getting stuck between big boxes or whatever.

Finished the game right now. To big parts it reminds me a lot more of the original Deus Ex than HR did. Also I think the "one hub only"-way of MD isn't so bad either, because it allows to better show changes with time. While I just hated Prague at day (reminded me too much of the beginning of HL2), it was fancy in the night and I changed my opinion about it.

Hated all this back and forth via subway stations, though. Loading times were long and tedious when moving from area to area and the game was sending me back and forth multiple times.

Like I've already wrote- too much hacking. In the end, not even the few multitools made it better for me. They should have made the levels / sneaking harder and instead remove half of the terminal hacking... basically making it rewarding to find a terminal that you can hack. Right now, after a while you just go by with "oh god no, another terminal".

Regardless, I think the game is still fun. Liked the sneaking that we had. Liked that it wasn't the pure shooter that all the promo videos suggested it would be.

The ending... yeah, someone cut off the game here. In the original game, this would be 3/4 of the story and you'd switch to a different hub, getting ready for the showdown.

/Edit: Oh, and the ingame store is total bs. If I hadn't read about it, I probably wouldn't even have noticed it. There is no reason for it to exist at all, except to produce a big marketing fuzz about the game. A feature that isn't necessary in any kind of way and just makes people hate the game without trying it.

/Edit2: Just started up the pre-order DLC thingy, and lel... first 5 minutes already feel like ripped straight out of the main game.

/Edit3: Another thing... I'd say dialogue was way more complex in HR than in MD...

Yeah, I've had NPCs comment to the effect of "luckily you didn't leave a body trail" when commenting on a mission I'd just undertaken.

You really need to build a character for casting if you want to use magic in Mordheim. My Purifier hurls spells as if there was no tomorrow. But she has a Sigmarite Warhammer to reduce wrath chance and mastered the skill for it as well. Ideally I should have her with a helmet that reduces it further, but I gave her an extended spell range enchantment instead.

You do want to get it to a point though where your first spell per turn is almost "free". A wrath chance of 5% is a good gamble.

Yeah, my mother superior and main purifier have maxed devotion. Everything is put into casting with maxed comets and healing circles. This scenario even Bertha has a 50% wrath chance after her first or second spell. It's really making life tough. If I could do it again, I'd try to get the ogre stuck somewhere and douse him with oil bombs. All said, we're doing okay. Most people have over half health and the reinforcements tend to be pretty weak.

How do you like the witch hunting crowd? Tried it, but had a weird feel. Might give it another shot. Maybe mercenary. Can't stand the demonic bunch and not keen on skaven. Will say that the skaven are the biggest pain for the sisters because of the powerful AoE range going on. For direct range damage, nothing compares to maxed comets with high intelligence and good casting skills. Probably mercs, good chance for witch hunters, small chance I choose skaven next.

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

I did it! A novice, a purifier, and a sister went down. Novice and purifier had full recoveries, but the sister superior has a burst eardrum. Like I care. I don't even think I'll replace her for that injury. She's a tank and spank specialist. She literally never uses perception. She perceives some bad guys needs an arse beating and run after him. That's the extent of her perception tests.

Now that I've finished the Sisters of Sigmar campaign, I'm going to start a new warband. Either merc or hunters. I think I'll wait for skaven.

Good job!

Sisters is the only campaign I completed. After that I don't have the energy to brave the rest. Though hunters is easier than the original ones.

Mercs and Hunters cover similar ground warband wise. Both have access to a lot of ranged. Mercs have the best ranged henchman (though I like the Cult of the Possessed Brethren as well when it comes to archers). Hunters can build their Zealots for range (one of mine is an archer), but they'll never be as good as a Marksman or Brethren. Merc Captains are great parry tanks. Witch Hunter captains are great dodge tanks. They both basically have the same starting passive, just one for parry the other for dodge.

I am not a fan of the warband specific skills for mercs. Trial by Pain for the Hunters is amazing though - opponent takes damage every time they attack? Killed a couple of enemies that way :)

Forgot about that. That one tenderized one of my henchmen. I think the witch hunters are ace for looks. Looks and a more reliable impressive make it a win. I'll come back and compare notes. Which scenario are you on right now?

None, I only do skirmishes :) I have done 1-1 with the mercs. Am at 2-1 with possessed and 2-4 with skaven I think. Been a while.

My witch hunters just got their Executioner. Haven't tried him out yet.

I just started up DX:HR again for comparison and wow, the graphical difference to MD is quite big. MD still gives the same feel, but looks *a lot* better. The other thing I've noticed so far - lots of casual terminal stuff is actually NOT behind a hacking minigame. I don't get why they had to force this stupid minigame on everything in MD. Did they really loved it so much in HR? ...

Oh, and there seems to be more dialogue in HR. Or lets say, it feels a bit more complex or something.

/Edit: And I like that in HR you *can not* open every damn container around you. Gives much less inventory clutter.

I mistakenly saved over my only save in Zelda: A Link to the Past, 3 dungeons away from the finale.

:/

It was a very good game overall.

Tried BF1 beta. Doesn't run too bad on my old 6970 but couldn't get a consistent 60 fps.

It's a Battlefield game... And that's ok by me.

On the subject of performance again. Maybe it's just me but it doesn't really look all that better considering that it's asking for a better PC. Oh well.

That really sucks. If you don't want to replay it, watch the end game on YouTube.

I'll have to do that.

It was the touch interface. Since there's no way to get a SNES I played it on my phone and the on-screen touch buttons are unwieldy. A slip of the finger, reset the game then saved over my only save state.

I tried Call of Pripyat with mods; why is it that every mod developed for this game is an insufferable "realistic"  mod where enemies are exempt from the same standard that you're subjected to? Anyways, I've still to find a mod for this game that I like.
