RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS

Recommended Posts

I used to live on Bio forums, but after DAO I finally gave up on Bio. By then the forums had way too many people, it wasn't any fun anyway.

I was frequenting Bio Forums more often than Obsids at some point, but it was before they moved to the "more social" platform. Even when EA was already their masters, the old forums were solid and seemed friendly to me. Never visited the new forums, becuase I heard only the worst things about it.

I like these forums, becuase they feel very civil and I like it. As orogun said, even trolling here is subtle, eloquent and intelligent, which can't be said about many other forums :-)

Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.

I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin.

I never was fan of BioBoards, but I'm sad to see them gone. I think developers not interacting with fans is a bad thing.

I agree, though I suppose Twitter and Facebook fulfil that purpose now. The humble forum is dead!

Nay, they will regroup in the most dark place of all the internet: Tumblr.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

...and when the known world comes crumbling down and game forums are dust, from the ruins of the usurper media, like the bird Phonix, Usenet shall rise from the ashes and take it's rightful place in internet domination again! :woot:

I used to think that. Then I did community management for a bit for an indie gamedev and realized that online fans can't do anything but bitch about minutiae and pretend they know better than everyone else. BioBoards are down? Yay! Let's take down the Battle.net forums next. There has never been a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

plz don't take down "ObiBoards", as I then do not know where else to go.

Aren't you at home on NMA?

I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think, I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech, and freedom of choice. I'm the kinda guy that likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecue ribs with the side-order of gravy fries?" I want high cholesterol! I wanna eat bacon, and butter, and buckets of cheese, okay?! I wanna smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section! I wanna run naked through the street, with green Jell-O all over my body, reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly may feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiene"

Fio is the community manager here, not me. This is the only official game community worth a damn. I have lots of faith in people and their feedback, just not the kind that official message boards provide.

I'm banned everywhere else.

Rarely nowadays. Bethsoft successfully killed Fallout for me. Also I can't get used to the new NMA forum theme (couldn't really get into the one before already).

So Fionavar is confirmed to have cold black soul. Interesting. It is as I have always suspected.

We've got some great forums here, haven't we people? Believe me, I know forums, and this one is great.

Something something build a wall around the forums something something make Bioware EA pay for it.

I wonder what happens to the NWN2 forums, would be ironic if they ended up here after being off site so long.

Reddit is most democratic forum on the internet, i.e. if too many people disagree and downvote a post it disappears to the bottom.

Oh, I though it was the most democratic, as in when you pay the people leading it they will push what you post to the top.

Does reddit count as a forum?

Yep. Varying degrees of worth.
