HoonDing Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Nah, early challenge is good before I hit the smithy. Thought to pick up Bolar's oathblade early, cave contained 4 sabre cats, 4 spriggans and 1 cave bear. Lel. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
LadyCrimson Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 Fired up Alpha11 of 7 Days to Die and played a little while. It's prettier, somewhat, especially the trees. While I never had terrible performance before, it is a bit improved on the new Unity5 build for me, since I can have shadows and AA on now, and still get 50-60fps most of the time. Less dragging sensation while running around. Your chr. levels up now, although I'm not sure what this does ... maybe increases chances of crafting better weapons? Dunno. The new item level system is sorta interesting, although the random factor of the actual crafting is bit annoying. "Craft Stone Axe" means sometimes you get one with "frail" one with 60 durability, sometimes a "frail" one with 100+ durability. I don't really get it. Not that it matters, since durability wears down so fast you can barely chop a tree down. But I ran around some houses and got a lot of blue and purple quality gun parts and a fireaxe. The fireaxe beats down doors like butter, much faster than before. And it's a little more fun to go "cool, a purple/flawless sniper part! Now I just need the other 3 parts in flawless, too!" Oh and I found one hole in the ground (a cave) but I haven't explored it yet. I hear there can be monsters down there. That all said ... outside of graphic changes, the item quality tiers, and changes to the "horde" and mining systems, overall it feels pretty much the same. Instead of feeling like you're fortress-invincible in 1-3 days, it'll take you 6 or 7. “Things are as they are. Hurlshort Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 During the bonus XP weekend I got my Jedi Knight from 44 up to 47, and I'm almost done with the Voss planet. This game is still pretty fun in spurts.

CoM_Solaufein Posted April 22, 2015 Author Posted April 22, 2015 Playing Skyrim. I'm at one of my favorite places to explore, Blackreach. Skyrim keeps calling me back even though I've seen 90% of everything. At least once a week I get the impulse to install an Elder Scrolls game...I sometimes think I've got an addiction Same here. I've done a lot over the years even with mods. Its a fun game to play. ManifestedISO Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Playing Skyrim. I'm at one of my favorite places to explore, Blackreach. I went through Blackreach one time with the lights on. After exiting a Dwemer ruin door, I turned right around and entered Blackreach again ... suddenly all the lights were on in the whole cavern. I could see everywhere, no darkness. If it was a bug, it was the best ever ... that place is freakin' inky black. All Stop. On Screen.
marelooke Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Playing through SR3 and having a blast, I'm at 86% completion, did all the city takeover stuff so I'm now alternating between messing with the DLC, doing main story quests and trying to find that one or so collectible I managed to miss so far. The plan is to go back to PoE once I'm done with this one, though I'm sort of tempted to just jump to SR4...

Yeah I've had that happen, Blackreach is actually an outdoor cell and sometimes daytime lighting triggers when you leave a Dwemer ruin.
HoonDing Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 (edited) D:OS has fun combat and looks okay, but I'm disappointed it runs so crappily for no discernible reason, is pretty buggy + the dialogue is pretty insufferable compared to previous Divinity games. Even the animals are annoying to interact with. Oh, and the rock-paper-shotgun is probably the worst 'minigame' I've ever encountered in a video game. Tale Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Stuck between a rock and a hard place in Bloodborne. I have access to three areas. The first I've gotten all the way to the boss, but can not beat him. I've only beaten him once while cooperating with others and there's usually a better track record than that. Thankfully he's optional. The second area I haven't reached the boss in yet. It might be the most annoying area in the game, though. The enemies respawn as you progress. I've made my way nonetheless to the second lamp, only to find out that there's THREE $#@%#@^$# NPC hunters a short distance away. Two of them aggroed me simply for entering a room and kicked my butt. I can probably take them with a little more care, but it's intimidating as NPC hunters are some of the strongest enemies in the game. And they won't ever respawn once killed, meaning that at least I'll make some progress. The third area is probably simply too high a level for me, which makes it good for farming mats. So no real complaint there. But it also is home to numerous illithid wannabes that like to steal my insight. Being that I can't two shot them with the big freaking sword and they have binding spells, they get pretty obnoxious. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Starwars Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I'm playing some Sleeping Dogs. The gameplay is fun, I like the focus on hand-to-hand combat though I fear it will get old at some point. Virtua Hong Kong is beautiful, didn't expect it to look as good as it does (this is not the definitive version or whatever it's called). Story seems pretty stupid. And I can't stand Wei as a main character unfortunately. Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
LadyCrimson Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 A month of playing PoE off and on = I can't get back into "survival" or building modes. Not in the mood to dig holes for hours. And as usual if I look at Steam nothing much appeals. So...I guess I'll play some more PoE. Maybe load and finish the dungeon. Or continue my PotD save, which is basically at the point where my party of 4 is staring at the walls of the crumbled Stronghold wondering if it wants to go in (probably not). Or I could just go read a book. “Things are as they are. GhostofAnakin Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Nearing the end of Chapter 2 in my Witcher 2 play through. I'd forgotten how much I liked this game. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Mikey Dowling Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I'm currently trading off between random hunts in Monster Hunter 4 or getting SMT'd in Shin Megami Tensei IV when out and about. For home the GTA V bug finally caught me and it's not letting go. I also beat The Order recently. Gorgeous game that I actually enjoyed. Not the best game ever, but I had fun playing it. Did I say it was gorgeous? It really is. 4 On Twitter @MikeyDowling
WDeranged Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 the GTA V bug finally caught me and it's not letting go. I recently built a PC for a friend of mine just so he can play GTA V, he got the game yesterday and played until 5am, hooked

Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I just picked up Killing Floor 2! "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot
Calax Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 I just picked up Killing Floor 2! Yuuup... Worth it. Never thought I'd like a game where the blood of a fight stayed on the floor the entire match. 1 Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

GhostofAnakin Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Finished my Witcher 2 play through. I decided to play as a "ruthless" Geralt, picking all the selfish choices. Decided to download the original Witcher off GOG. Just started Chapter 1. I can actually run it now, so I'll finally be able to compare the two games. 213374U Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Xenonauts. Yep, this is the game I wanted. Basically XCOM with a facelift. I'm surprised they copied the original so literally. My only gripe with the game so far is with the difficulty. I started on Veteran because I played the hell out of the old UFO and TFTD, so I thought I could take it. The difficulty level is what I expected, unforgiving to the point of being unfair sometimes, but I was managing. But then, no matter what I do, council nations hate me and keep slashing my budget. In the old games, the opposite happened; without savescumming tactical combat was a nightmare, but I rarely struggled at the strategic level. So I decided to restart on Normal. Now the strategic difficulty is reasonable (I keep getting budget cuts but nothing excessive) but tactical combat is stupid easy, noob squaddies can take on aliens 1v1 me irl babby, enemies are much, much less aggressive, and taking risks rarely results in deaths. I think I'll be restarting again... 1 - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
Rosbjerg Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 You need to place your bases so that you can cover most of the with 3 of them and use planes to scout. Otherwise the ufos do terror missions out of your range. 1 Fortune favors the bald.
213374U Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 You need to place your bases so that you can cover most of the with 3 of them and use planes to scout. Otherwise the ufos do terror missions out of your range. So 3 bases is the optimal number then? I had 4 by the time I quit, 1 in construction, 3 operational as interceptor bases but only one from which to launch ground teams. I've noticed that radar installations are obviously artificially overpriced, at a whopping $250k apiece, I guess to prevent you from just setting up a network of listening posts and force you to scout with interceptors. Unchecked terror sprees really do a number on funding, which is great. However, successfully shooting down UFOs and recovering stuff rarely makes up for that. Numbers may change down the road though, as my biggest catches so far are just corvettes. I take it that carriers and battleships are sufficiently profitable to make me less sensitive to council tantrums? - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
