Hacked Nude Photos: Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Yvonne Strahovski, etc.

Technically, when you view the photos, you are also downloading the illegally obtained materials.  If you post links to those photos, you are posting links to the illegal or stolen materials, (or something like that.)  At least that's what I was told when I got banned over posting the link to the nude photos in other forums.

Did any of you guys even find any of those nude photos or video??   Okay, don't answer that. You'd be incriminating yourself.

P.S. Just so you know, many "Men's Right Activism" groups do not seem to care.  It's fine to post links in those forums.  In fact, the moderators in those forums would add you to their friend list if you post links to the nude photos :p  So it's a whole different standard in different forums.

I'm not afraid, so yeah. I have all "the Fappening" material. Needed to see what all the fuss was about. It's not so hard they are on the torrents after all.

As for the "technically downloading" when viewing of sites. It's bull****. How could I know what the site contains before I enter it. As you said there was a lot of them on numerous forums and sites. People that check those sites regularly would see those pics without knowing whats what. And they should be prosecuted?

I just briefed by the info sites and have two thoughts:

1. How many people would never have seen the photos if it wasn't for those "outraged" people who condemned the hacker on twitter, facebook, articles etc.?

2. I saw some comments that there will be prosecution of people who SEEN the photos knowing that they were obtained illegally. Is this **** real? Is the USA a once proud country succumbed so much to the virus of political correctness and other stupidity?

Downloading files that are shared illegally is also against law in EU, because of our new uniformed piracy laws.

Yeah... not many EU country have signed or passed this law in their countries so...no it's not. And it will not, google ACTA outrage :)

But that is beside the point. I was asking about SEEING the pictures. You know on a website etc.

So it is legal to download pirated movies in Poland?

Yes. We can download almost anything if it's for personal use, only sharing and publishing of such materials is illegal.

Interesting, are you sure that it isn't against law (as it is part of copyright directive that every country need to ratify)? As in Finland downloading illegal things is against law, but there isn't any sanctions for it, but it is mentioned law that people should not do such thing. Sharing and otherwise making such things public is criminal offence. So even though downloading pirated movies/etc. is illegal in Finland one can do so freely and without fear of any punishment given that they don't share them as well.

The thing is that of everything that's been posted so far, it's only a drop in the bucket of what the guy has. He had close to 200 names or so of various "celebs" that he had.

I put "celebs" in quotes because after reading the list I recognized like six names total.

Do you know we know we are all actually just holographic projections?

that's an interesting thought. I know of Pauli's uncertainty principle and Shrodinger's wave function, but I never dug that deep  :disguise:

as for Jennifer Lawrence and other women that got dragged into this: I feel really bad for them, and it would take too much effort to try and type my thoughts on the whole thing. I can only hope they don't come out of it scarred emotionally and can continue their work in movies etc.

Another interesting aspect is that after leaks of the past, "victims" always got tons of new offers from now enthusiastic directors. Meaning all concerned actresses will get rewarded monetarily, which means millions of bucks. I wish somebody leaked my pics.

The reason (supposedly) for deleted photos still being on the cloud is due to it being a back up. The theory being that if you accidentally deleted all your pics on your phone you could still retrieve them from the cloud back up. Which would make a kind of sense, since there's no objective 100% accurate way to determine whether a deletion is deliberate or accidental, even if it is counter intuitive in some ways.

I have a lot of sympathy for those who have been hacked. If you're reasonably tech savvy you probably know that storing things on the cloud- or anywhere else connected to the internet, really- carries certain inherent dangers, but if you aren't tech savvy you probably just trust Apple or Sony or Steam or whoever's turn it is to be hacked this week to store your stuff securely, whether it be pictures or CC details. Easy to think that you should be at least encrypting your nudie pics (I was young, and needed the money?) if you want to store them online or even on a HD, but if you don't know that you don't know that.

Of course, leaked nudes have been around since mainstream photography though... Now I can totally forgive a 30+ year old, that didn't necessarily grow up with the internet. But the <25 year old I study/hang out and talk to know more about the net than me. So these girls most being under 30 and almost all using twitter, reddit, blogs, facebook etc. really should know better imo.

The hackers are still bloody creeps though.. as is most of the Internet's reaction.

Blaming the victim. BRILLANT.

Storing sensitive data to a device that is hooked to the 'net is just as brilliant. Especially as a celebrity.  There wouldn't be so many crimes if people were less naive and dumb.

"Not reading through the thread and jumping to conclusions - even better!"

Why so ignorant? Don't ASSume. I read the entire thread. And, you and your buddy are blaming the victim.

This is akin to blaming someone who walks down a dark street who gets mugged or worse for the crime perpetrated on them.

The only person/people to blame is the perpetrator(s). PERIOD.

I'm pretty sure every feminist will disagree with you.

Hopefully this won't become a topic for them and it will sober people up about taking selfies. Whatever is a thing's intended use it will be used for it, if you take a picture it will be seen and that may go beyond your control.

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Is it sad that upon viewing one of the girls leaked (Ali Michael) all I can think of is "damn girl needs to gain some weight!"?

Also at least one of the photos released may have been from when the "model" mckayla Moroni (spelling?) was under legal age.

This is the 21st century damnit, it's pathetic that people still worship idols to such an extent that they even care about these kinda pictures, I mean there is an eternity of higher quality pornography out there, there is no reason to be overly excited about this other than that you put people on a pedastol and worship them (then cross the border and feel the need to stalk them) because they're famous.

Hacking private photos isn't just illegal it's ****ing creepy. You want to break into these ladies houses and spy on them while they sleep?

Get the **** out, you inadequate waste of balls.

You need to urgently re-evaluate your ****ing worldview. These are actual people who've been violated.

I could give a toss about your pseudo political point.

You don't stick it to the man by getting upskirts of random women.

I think Walsingham has said all that needs to be said.

There were more leaks today. Jessica Brown Findley has really amazing videos. She talks with her boyfriend a lot, laughs, I can almost feel like I AM her boyfriend because he does most of the filming from his point of view. They're so good together. Such warm feelings.

And there's comedy in there too. She asks permission to smell his bum while blowing him. And they laugh. Amazing stuff.

I'm so happy and serene now.

JUST WANT TO REPEAT MY LAST POST SO THAT EVERYONE KNOWS THAT APPLE IS THE EVILEST:

Some celebrities are claiming that they deleted the photos a long time ago, but somehow Apple secretly made backup copies of those deleted photos and uploaded them to Apple servers without their knowledge.

That's what they got for using Apple products.

Apple is not remotely the only company that stores deleted data in what's essentially perpetuity. I'm no fan of Apple at all, they basically make inferior products with nice packaging, excellent marketing, at a higher price than you can get a similar and better product for (Jobs' genius was marketing, not tech). But any cloud service is just as susceptible.

Apple was likely targeted as it's customers tend to be more naive of technology (hence more likely to believe Apple's BS that the 'cloud' is safe and secure so more apt to put personal things in it) than other service's customers, and it's very popular. If you're a hacker, thief, or anyone else out for some kind of booty (pun intended) which house, service, etc are you going to plunder when they all basically have the same kind of security? If you're a smart one, you're going to go for the most bang for your efforts. Hence, Apple.

This whole thing is an example of how naive most people are when it comes to technology, and if you read this thread, the law too.

Two exampless:

You have people in this thread who can't find the pics: Naive to a huge portion of the web, and not even the underbelly of it. Oh how I miss the days before the Eternal September, when such folks were not on the interwebs.

You have people who actually think when you delete something, it's deleted: Newsflash, that's not even the case on your computer unless you specifically go out of your way to overwrite the HDD sectors multiple times (or smash the drive), and it's most certainly not the case with any storage service. Why on earth do you think many cloud services and email are free? You think these companies offer these services out of the goodness of their heart? No, they datamine you, and not just for metadata if you're a person of interest (such as a celebrity). You think because it's illegal (maybe) or just because they tell you they don't that they really don't? Ubernaive you are then. But rest assured, you're in the majority.

Hopefully, something good comes out of all of this: That a lot more than currently do realize that Apple and others are lying to you when they say 'clouds' are secure (they aren't and never will be). That's likely just wishful thinking on my part though.
