Thats impossible to count. Also there are other players that actually like the game because it didn't focus on these things but other qualities. Renevent
It is impossible to quantify...but looking at all the forums around the web I would say these two things have generated an enormous amount of negativity. Word of mouth is a powerful things and can bring a game great sales, and on the opposite end of the spectrum, really hurt it too.

I'm sure, though, that those people number much less than those that wanted the persistent multiplayer and newgame+ features...

I don't know how they do the economy these days. Game.com.au, for instance, is a branch of Game.co.uk, which had a 5-pound sale going on since early June. It's one of many sites now that seem to do a lot of 10% sales before release, and sometimes after release, and... I don't know if they ever sell anything full price. No idea how that works. I checked your link to GAME and despite the sale they have for it right now, it is still only 5AUD cheaper than unreleased games like Dark Souls and Deus Ex: human Revolution. Not really a big deal. Volourn
Don't know why people take 'price drops' so seriously. To know what they mean you'd have to know the motivation for said drop. It is too early to tell if the game is a financial bomb or hit. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.

hopfrog16
Well folks, I checked up on vgchartz.com (which is by no means the end all be all of accurate sales charts), and these are the numbers for the first week of sales that are listed for EMEAA. Xbox360 - 16,519 http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/45443...geon-siege-iii/ PS3 - 10,596 http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/45442...geon-siege-iii/ PC - 10,447 http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/47140...geon-siege-iii/ Keep in mind there is simply not enough information (or accurate information, rather) yet to make any kind of sales predictions (but I hope it sells well). If anyone has a more accurate chart, send links please!
ShadowScythe
Jeez...I know VGchartz is pretty inaccurate but they've always been vaguely correct-like 20-30% give or take. And those sales for EMEAA look....pretty bad. Guess the sales will be around Alpha Protocol level (or even worse?) after all... Tigranes
I'm curious how it could be on various European top 10 and top 20 charts if it sold that low, though. In one chart it was at overall 9th for its debut week - so everything below it, like Alice, sold even less? How does that work? O_o Those kind of numbers should place a game way way below. Either vgchartz will do a massive readjustment after a week or two of US sales, or... nobody buys games except Wii Fit anymore. pmp10
Jeez...I know VGchartz is pretty inaccurate but they've always been vaguely correct-like 20-30% give or take. Thats because they change their numbers when real data shows up. Some of their initial guesses have been wrong by 2-3x or more. Unless the game becomes a massive hit or someone speaks on the subject we are unlikely to see a good estimation of sales until Square-Enix investor report shows up. athlondude
the metacritic score currently as low as Alpha Protocol since when 74 is a "low" score? on a 100 scale, 74 is 3/4s, how is that "low"? 74 is low compared to what the original Dungeon Siege got which was an
Flouride
Those are numbers are pretty much pulled out of a hat. Only the publishers&developers have the actual numbers. So unless some is feeding them information on the sales, I don't see how those numbers are accurate at all. Hate the living, love the dead. Labadal
Since most people didn't bother to actually check the link: Week 24.
