Nothing good or bad to say about the DLCs? :ermm:

I finally caved in and got Dead Money and while story & characters are interesting, I can now totally understand why people complained about the gameplay. It's just not fun.

The constant BEEP BEEP BEEP is simply maddening. Luckily I have a character with 100 Stealth & Light Step perk so the first part of the DLC was smooth sailing. I can't fathom how a character without those abilities would be able to get through it without going insane, though.

I also don't understand why your character loses all gear at the beginning... aren't the collars enough? Seems pretty stupid for Father Elijah to rid his lackeys off all their gear if he wants them to survive in one of the most dangerous areas of the Mojave.

Overall, very mixed feelings.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

God's companion Perk that has the same effect as Light Step. I generally would take him along for the first sweep through an area. The collar-beeping didn't bug me all that much-- I approached like I would a puzzle game and found some satisfaction in probing where I could and couldn't go and figuring out how to open up new areas for exploration. The constant health draining, though, was a source of much stress until I found the code to get Stimpaks from the vending machines.

Didn't he explained that the casino security system automatically took that stuff away from you? Don't really remember anymore.

The only thing that I found annoying in Dead Money was all that running around through labyrinth-like corridors. *This* was driving me crazy, the speaker and stuff not really... Didn't had much problems with them and usualy came around them pretty smooth all the time.

One of the complaints about BEEP BEEP BEEP was that it leads to trial-and-error gameplay, and that is totally true.

Whenever you hear BEEP BEEP BEEP, you're never sure whether you have to look for the emitter to destroy or just run on until the BEEP BEEP BEEP stops. Problem is, near the end your head gets blown off as soon as you hesitate a few seconds.

I think that's really only true up to a point. Most of the radios can be found pretty easily IMO by using the "go forward and look around, then retreat" strategy. And if you don't find any, then it's usually a "run through like crazy" section.

There was *one* section in Dead Money where I found the radios extremely annoying (and died a few times) and that was a section fairly close to the end. Other than that, I don't think it was particularly bad.

Same here.

Also, the constant rusty darkness which initially created a nice eerie atmosphere, wore off and turned pretty tedious well before the DLC ended. Good thing it wasn't longer than it was.

I finished it.

Pretty good overall, I'd rate it 7/10. Would've been 8/10 if the ending wasn't so abrupt... I'd like to have talked to Christine & Dean Domino one more time before leaving.

Gameplay became very easy once I made it into the casino and managed to conjure up thousands of chips playing blackjack. Before that, it was adequately challenging due to limited resources, though frustrating at points because I played through it with my 2 INT character who had to search for Electric fuse boxes due to low Repair skill. Higher lockpick/science skill would've helped a lot as well.

Then again, I had forgotten this character had Cherchez la femme perk, which lead to some nice, unique dialogue options with Christine.

Now I'm back in the Wasteland, and massively over-encumbered because my gear materialized again... is there some kind of console command that allows one to teleport to the Strip? It's kind of a long, annoying walk otherwise.

I've also access to Honest Hearts, should I play it *before* or *after* the quest Render unto Caesar?

You can do it piecemeal, leaving some stuff at the Bunker and fast-traveling back and forth a couple times.

I've figured out why Honest Hearts isn't really speaking to me as much as Dead Money did. There's no mystary. Once you chat with Graham and Daniel, and once you find the bulk of the Survivalist journals, the plot relies on either empathy for the NPCs or the largely gamist drive to finish and get back to the Mojave to keep the player interested. There may well be further narrative rewards that I haven't gotten to yet, but I just don't have that "What's really going on here?" impetus that Dead Money and the other good Fallout sidequests had. Absent that, the steps along the way feel somewhat mechanistic-- I'm chasing down quest markers rather than working to puzzle out a problem.

As far as I know there are no unique dialogue options/changes based on that, but I don't know. Either way, it would be very cosmetic

Joshua Graham doesn't give a damn about the Mojave anymore

yes, there are none. I think this is because voice recprding for caesar was done already at that point and no new lines could be recorded?

Seems like Blood Money has influence of Avellone and Honest Heart has that of Sawyer. And the former is mostly criticized due to its game-play while the latter is done for its weak story. So, why did they stop work together, unlike the core project? Didn't Feargus once say story for Avellone and game-play for Sawyer?

Finished Honest Hearts. The main quest was a very shallow, very boring quest.. and so were the side quests. The character arcs were interesting but I didn't really feel like I impacted them at all. Overall, the environments and exploration make it worth the price but I found it inferior to Dead Money in possibly every way besides the art.

Probably too late now, but if you don't mind using the console, plain old "god mode" (tgm) means you can still run while encumbered - it ignores encumbrance as well as all kinds of other things (like bullet usage, heh). I'm not sure about FT...I'd think it'd work tho.

Pretty much. I just don't know the console command or cell info for that, while tgm is easy to remember.

To be judicious, I have to say that as much as I disliked Honest Hearts, I can appreciate that some people would like it. Plenty to biff, new area, new kit. Surely a checklist for some goons?

I'm going to leave it another month then roll me up a new character and go from scratch, low charisma, high self-sustained constructy.

I may go as far as Dead Money after I finish the Witcher 2, but may as well just leave FONV with the pleasant memory.

Off Topic: Heavy Rain was on my wish list before upgrading my PC to I find it remained exclusive for PS 3. I'd probably go for Assassin's Creed series once it got a sale. Deus Ex: Human Revolution is blinking at the corner, too. :ermm:

finished FalloutNV: Dead Money.not impressed.i have no problem with linearity, but this feels like a chore.reminds me how -not- to make DLC

Yeah, FNV needs more DLC like weapons and appearance packs... :sorcerer:

Maybe they should have added a driveable vehicle into the DLC and put few missions involving it, make it atleast 3 times shorter and they might have gotten Gamble's seal of approval :sorcerer:
