I replayed this again, and this time "only" Mordin and Samara died. But why? Is it because I let them kill their targets without interference, or had they to die anyway?

I thought it was pretty straight forward how to keep everybody alive.

-Get everybody loyal

-Get every upgrade for Normandy

-At the end, choose suitable people for the jobs. Tali/Legion for tech, Miranda/Garrus for lead and Samara/Jack for biotics. Anyone can lead the crew back to safety.

Not really. The final thing is that the team "holding the line" needs to be beefy. They are all assigned a point value (which is boosted if loyal), and if the point value is not high enough, somebody squishy will die. Grunt and Zaeed have apparently the highest of these values, so if you have them "holding the line" and send somebody else back and take other people with you, you should be doing fine on that front.

Meh. I just did the new Hammerhead DLC last night. Good thing it was free or I'd be mad as heck. Got nothing out of it but a few XP, some credits, and cramped fingers from mashing two keys for two hours straight.

Am I the only one who hated this pointless exercise?

At least its free. I've yet to try it (the 360 is getting an ff13-and-gow3-induced break) but I've head both good and bad things.

In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum.

I liked it myself. It beats gathering minerals. :bat:

My biggest disappointment was at the end where

you find the sphere. I was hoping you would get some sort of crazy vision like with the sphere in ME1.

I wrote that after doing the first quest, because I thought that was all there was. I now see in my journal that there are other hammerhead quests. Maybe I'll like them better. I don't much like the vehicle, though. It's very twitchy and hard to handle. I miss my mako. :( The lack of a save feature in these missions is really, really irritating.

Do you like Mario? If not, you probably won't like the rest of the quests. I've done them twice, but only for the extra 10% biotic damage you can find in the last mission.

Oh, if you do decide to do the missions, prepare for frustration on the

geth

one: There's no save, and it's easy to die on Hardcore and above, meaning you have to start the whole mission over again.

New question: Does anyone know how to edit the loadout for characters? I have beaten the game with a Soldier and Vanguard, and want to do an Infiltrator, but I want an Assault Rifle from Freedom's Progress on. I know I can unlock it in the

Collector's Ship

, but the Widow is just too, too sexy (I actually prefer it on my Soldier to the Revenant). I also know that SMGs fill a good portion of the role that ARs fill (though missing the further end of mid-range), but I like using ARs more, and that blank spot on the right side of my Infiltrator's back is driving me mad. Any tips on how to edit my save game to allow this would be greatly appreciated.

I just finished the Firewalker missions and I thought they were pretty fun. Firewalker > Mako.

I'm just playing my thirds time through the game with an Adept. Singularity is totally pointless since it always hits an obstacle, never the target. I'm holding back for the new $DLC that comes out April 6th before I travel through the Omega 4 relay.

My second go through was with an adept and I never had a problem with the powers given that they will go around obstacles if you give enough clearance (and the target doesn't move and change the angle).

I dunno I just always aimed above or to the left or right and it never seemed to be a problem. I wasn't playing on the higher difficulties though - maybe that changes how far the powers move?

I found that occasionally powers would just refuse to curve for whatever reason. Never figured out what caused it, but it didn't happen enough to make it worth caring about.

Well I've seen them not curve if the target moved out of target range or if I didn't make sure they had the target bracket before singularitying them(although that occasionally led to fun anyhow).

OMG. I've just gotten the Geth Pulse Rifle by completing the recruit Tali quest on Hardcore. Utterly brutal. That damned gun better be worth it! :x

I'm proud of you Di.

I have seen the sun rise on the sandy beaches of Hawaii. I have seen the sun set on the coasts of Honshu. But neither dusk nor dawn compares the sumptuous beauty of the Geth Pulse Rifle. :)

Nb - make sure you use it with maxed out inferno ammo, and you'll never have to ammo switch again.

+1

And the really cool thing is it's not a Shepard exclusive weapon, so any squaddie who can use an assault rifle can use the GPR.

I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God.

So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me?

Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

there is a problem with the geth rifle... if you has been using the vindicator. sure, the geth has loads o' ammo, but it does far less damage per shot; it takes longer to kill stuff using the geth rifle. after +10 hours using the vindicator, you gets comfortable with seeing foes die quickly. when you first switch to the geth rifle, it seems as if your soldier has sudden become teh suk 'cause you is emptying clips into foes, but they just ain't dying like they should. am not minding switching ammo. we will happily switch disruptor, warp and cold during the course o' a single battle... 'cause as a soldier we got no powhaz save for ammo and adrenaline burst anyways. what we does mind is seeing a paltry pack o' varen shrugging off our geth pulse shots like water falling from a duck's back.

when Gromnir shoots stuff with the vindicator, it dies. we not get the same warm fuzzy feeling o' certain ownage when using the geth pulse.

HA! Good Fun!

Someone had asked this a few pages back, Mordin is a bit bugged so even if you do everything right, he might die in the last fight. As far as I know the only thing that stops this bug is sending him as escort with the crew.

From what I've heard, Moridin is not bugged.

The issue is that Moridin is a whimp and if you have him try to 'hold the line' he needs to have a loyal 'heavies' (Garrus, Grunt, or Zaaed) with him when he does so.

I just send Mordin back with the crew. He seems like the best choice for it. Doctor and former spy, inflitrator, knows how to get things done unobtrusively, which I guess includes sneaking.

My current playthrough is with an adept, so I'll be taking Miranda and Thane for their warp ability to the front line. I guess my hold the line team is safe.
