Ask me about Communism.

Unlike you I've actually seen a post-revolutionary mass grave. I've also seen township violence first hand. So f*** your "c'est la vie", right in the ear. You couldn't care less about possible death, and it's not because you're evil. It's because you have no concept of what you are describing.
Gluh bluh bluh bodies. Nothing's gonna change for the better with an attitude like that, young man.
Okay, Mr. Smarty Pants, explain what brought down Tsar Nicholas II, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, or for that matter explain how the Singing Revolution and Color revolutions worked. You can go "a bloo bloo, nonviolent action doesn't work," but the fact of the matter is it does. Even the Bolsheviks took power only after the Provisional Government was practically dead from strikes, protests, and peasant collectivization.

Hold on, you're actually saying the Bolshevist and Iranian revolutions were bloodless? I don't know whether to laugh or simply fall over.

Both of them only took place after huge levels of popular protest. Storming the Winter Castle was done with an anemic force of Bolsheviks against an even more anemic force of supporters of the Provisional Government. Do you think the Iranian revolution wasn't built on huge protests or what? Do you even know what you're talking about?

Yes, I had a feeling you were endorsing unruly mobs, pogroms (because, you know, the revolution does that too) and general anarchy. But after that is done, how do you figure the government will assume control again?

Indeed. Problem is, man seems to be ready to become a mass murder in a pinch. Be it to support revolution #53462343 or to suppress it.

Anyway, you certainly have a peculiar view of "non-violence". I may have to check out that game you suggested, yet.

Non-violence means no one is hurt. No one took any violent action. No fists flying, no yelling profanities, no bullets flying, and no hostages taken. That is non-violence. The Iranian revolution was not non-violent.

What kind of democratic leader pushes through an amendment (for lack of a better term) removing term limits?

Yes, when it's Chavez doing so it's evidence he's a dictator (and thus the attempted US backed coup against him was an act of attempted liberation rather than a blatant attempt to secure a tame despot oversees Venezuela's oil and gigantic tar oil reserves) but strangely enough when it's his- coincidently- rabidly pro US next door neighbour Mr Uribe in Colombia doing exactly the same thing then apparently that simply reflects the will of the Colombian people.

- As my support for intervention in Iraq and Afghanistan proves, I have nothing against sacrifice. But sacrifice with an end in sight. Because your system revolves around constant extreme control it necessitates constant violence on the part of the state. However I also think your comments underline my central contention that you are a footling adolescent coffee-shop academic.

- I never said that large scale protests weren't part of revolutions. I merely observed the widely accepted fact that they ALSO involve a lot of revolutionary 'justice' involving armed mobs and gangs of thugs torturing intellectuals and landowners. Or do you deny the fact that the IRGC et al went about imprisoning and killing people? In fact, sod it, go to Iran and say so. See how long it takes for you to get punched in the face.

Indeed my main grief at the thought of you getting your way is that you might wind up as one of the sweaty-faced torturers, shining with revolutionary fervour, rather than one of the middle-ground intellectuals in the gulag.

Okay, who wants to dig up some data on the correlation (or lack thereof, rather) between term limits and democracy? :(

I like term limits. Personally I like to see term limits on House and Senate seats, both state and federal, and state governors. No more than 12 years on the HOuse and Senate side, no more than 8 on the governor side.

"People are not equal. That's right, people are born to be different! That's why they fight and compete with one another! From there evolution takes place. Inequity is not evil. Equality itself is evil. Britannia alone is moving forward towards the future! We must fight! Compete, take, possess, control! Beyond that lies the future! All hail Britannia!"

There was a time when I questioned the ability for the schizoid to ever experience genuine happiness, at the very least for a prolonged segment of time. I am no closer to finding the answer, however, it has become apparent that contentment is certainly a realizable goal. I find these results to be adequate, if not pleasing. Unfortunately, connection is another subject entirely. When one has sufficiently examined the mind and their emotional constructs, connection can be easily imitated. More data must be gleaned and further collated before a sufficient judgment can be reached.

In the case of your President doesn't that just mean power gets even more heavily weighted towards the permanent bureaucracy? I agree that its deviant and creepy that you have senators who just stay in power for their lifetimes, but that's up to voters at the end of the day.

People inherently aren't equal. How can you tell me that some unmotivated **** who sits at home, has kids, and collects welfare is equal to a brilliant scientist (or the like) who has contributed to mankind in some way?

Also, you really think that the Bolshevik revolution was bloodless? I mean, really?

In 7th grade, I teach the students how Chuck Norris took down the Roman Empire, so it is good that you are starting early on this curriculum.

I'm not. I'm telling you that the businessman who steals all the profits that rightfully belong to that brilliant scientist should be eliminated from the entire process. But you've chosen to deliberately misinterpret socialism over and over again, in the ridiculous strawman that never applied to any country in the world. Ever.
Also, you really think that the Bolshevik revolution was bloodless? I mean, really?

Do you really think that the actual act of storming the Winter Palace was anything more than the tiny capstone on months of work? Do you think that if the Bolsheviks had simply assembled a much, much larger group outside the palace, demanding that the Provisional Government dissolve itself, it would not do so? Or maybe you just think that the RCW is part of the Bolshevik revolution.

Do I need to resort to citing color revolutions at you?

Hmm, except no. Why does the system I've proposed rely upon constant, state-sponsored violence? Because you say so. Why do I go to coffee shops? Because you say so.

Can't say I agree, if someone's popular enough to get legitimately elected multiple times then good on them I say, no matter whether I like the person/ their politics or not.

Sorry Lord of Flies, after careful consideration and reading everything you posted I have decided that Communisim is just not for me. Judging by the responses here I'd say I represent the majority opinion here (for a change).

So.. sorry we could not make a deal, good bye and good luck with that whole workers paradise thing. As we say here in the US, "Better Dead than Red".

And by "eliminated", you mean literally. Why not drop the euphemisms altogether? So. What is your preferred method of execution for unrepentant capitalists and their counter-revolutionary lapdogs?

Anyway. Entrepreneurialism is arguably the most valuable of human skills. Prosperity is a direct function of commerce, and historically progress has been closely linked to prosperity. So... you want to minimize progress? Shrewd.
