^ Not really. Chainmail bikinis might be OK in context, but I'm getting to the point where I find them embarrassing. Hey, we know Morrigan gets her kit off later in the game, maybe it would be nicer if she stays covered up 'til that point.

I'm beginning to realise that one of my mage hang-ups is that they don't look cool.

Well the Asha'man were pretty cool. You could call them wizards, I guess.

I've always wanted just...you know reasonable clothes for my mages.

I've always felt a bit weird when the town peasants are dressed less goofily than my mage. I'm a mage, damnit, I shouldn't be jealous of peasant clothes!

:(

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I'm not sure dressing like some sort of weird pantomime hexaped really impresses anyone.

Besides which Shoggoths are supposed to be formless, bubbling protoplasmic beings that are faintly luminous with random temporary eyes forming over its body as it slithered around, so I'm not really sure that picture is a good example of proper dress-up anyhow.

Really, man, do you have an entire library on your computer with those hilarious pics or something?

Nope, I just see a lot of them on the internet and use google image search to find them later.

If you want a compilation, maybe the NeoGAF thread will please you.

The trick is to find the right pic for the right moment.

In Syberia Kate is the main character, since her journey from materialism to spiritualism is the point, Hans is just a prop. In fact he doesn't even appear in the first game (btw, that's why the ending of the first game was fine, a lot of people just didn't get it).

Hans V does appear in the end of the first game... outside the resort in Aralbad. Granted, though, it's a very short meeting & disappointing for anyone who expected some epic climax.

Yes, sorry, the plots of 1 and 2 became muddled in my mind.

Not really a Dragon Age specific observation, but why do mages always wear robes?

OK, they must be comfy for pottering around doing experiments in your tower, but what about adventuring? You'd want a sturdy pair of boots, britches, a jacket and a cloak not to mention a belt, harness and pack for all your wizardly bits and bobs. You certainly wouldn't want a pointy hat. Or those curly-ended slippers with little bells on the end.

I want to see a swaggering, sexy wizard done up like Captain Jack Sparrow or something. Not Gandalf. NWN2 had sort of gonzo-goth wizards, which was a start.

cheers

MC

:) Believe it or not, I agree with you. I really hate the dumb robes, especially for male wizards. They look so danged dorky. If one is traversing the world, one should dress accordingly!

I've always assumed that male mages were wearing those dresses because they needed complete and full mobility of their entire bodies to cast spells, including their balls.

I read in a local magazine that pre-ordering at xyz store nets a Wild Wolf Talisman, do we know whazzat is?

BTW, lol'd at advertisement saying "realistic fantasy world" and "childhood deeds having repercussions in the future".

^ The hype is there, we probably view it differently.

As for the length of the game, am I alone in incessant re-starting? I'll do ten hours then realise that my character build is wrong. Start again. Rinse and repeat. This is my first 20-30 hours of play time, and for this reason alone I'm sure DA:O for me might well be 100 hours.

No, I do the same thing. My wife teases me relentlessly about it. It usually takes me the first week to get my character the way I want it, and then I tend to fly through the game.

^ So I'm not alone. Phew.

Now, there are six origins. Three blow chunks, two look OK and one (Dwarf Commoner) I really like the look of. So I'll be doing this really annoying habit with three origins.

Maybe we're looking at about 200 hours. By then some smart-arse will have modded it...

Cheers

I'm an incessant restarter as well. Sometimes I've restarted so much I've had to go play something else for awhile because I want to change the character but can't stomach playing through the intro again.

I restarted Deus Ex at least twenty times, simply because there is no autosave after you get to the docks and I always forgot to manually save.

"Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

"As it happens, sleeping enemies who are then targeted by a horror spell suffer maddening nightmares that deal severe damage to them, instantly killing most weaker foes."

is that really in the game? thats absolutely awesome if so.

probably the single coolest thing i've heard about the entire game.

Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete.
