SteveThaiBinh
Grrr... All the way through QfG1-5 until almost the very end, then defeated by a bug in the storeroom. It's happened before and seems to be getting worse - I'm not prepared to spend hours and hours looking for an alternative solution or uninstalling and reinstalling, and I'm not playing these games again until they're properly updated. Even DosBox isn't the cure-all for QfG3 and QfG4 that it used to be, and it doesn't apply to QfG5. *sigh* I knew there was a reason I hadn't played these in a while. WITHTEETH
I beat Kings Quest V. I haven't played it in about 18 years, and it was very enjoyable. I forgot what a great looking game it was, even with the years that have passed. I also managed to remember most puzzles and beat it only using a walkthrough on the desert and the ocean part. Dumb mazes, I don't have time to make a map anymore. It's really beautiful, isn't it - I've just been playing the Quest for Glory games from the same generation and had the same thought. Go on to KQVI, it's even better. Agreed. and KQ VI is my favorite one! Always outnumbered, never out gunned! Unreal Tournament 2004 Handle:Enlight_2.0 Myspace Website! The King's Quests are fine - the Quest for Glory games have particular issues with fast computers that surfaced right after they were released and continue to give nightmares to anyone who tries to play them. I'm really hoping that someone like Good Old Games will take them on and get into the scripts to deal with all these issues. "An electric puddle is not what I need right now." mr insomniac
I'm interested in Storms of Zehir, and I figured I should play the OC and MotB at least once before I get it. I'm just about at the part where I stopped playing the last time, doing the City Watch quests, after first arriving in the city of Neverwinter. Then, I had a fighter that I didn't build very well. This time, I've gone for a Ranger/Rogue. Soon I'll add a level of Shadowdancer in order to get the Hide in Plain Sight feat. Is that munchkinism, or powergaming? Maybe, I don't care. So far its more fun after doing a little research on character builds. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.

taks
So far its more fun after doing a little research on character builds. i enjoyed crafting my characters, too, probably moreso than with the 2E games. with 2E it seemed like i was more concerned with how powerful the characters got, rather than how cool their customizations were. 3E crafting, however, allows some nifty ways to make your characters really good in precise ways, or very broad, etc. i definitely spent more time thinking about 3E builds, before beginning and during level-up, than with the 2E builds. anyway, i'm on to ToB now that my BG2: SoA romp has finished. without mods, irenicus goes down waaaaay easy when your entire party members each have nearly 4M exp. points. so far, ToB is similarly easy, and it is mod-free for the most part as well. i might hunt down the level 50 ruleset just for the halibut. taks comrade taks... just because. GreasyDogMeat
After beating Dragons of Flame, moved on to the third and final game in the Heroes of the Lance trilogy: Shadow Sorcerer. Unlike the first two games, Shadow Sorcerer is basically one big escort mission where you have to lead the survivors you rescued from the last game to safety. Unfortunately they are whiny, ungrateful pukes who refuse to listen to orders and like to stand around and get killed by Draconians and if the number of survivors falls below 100 you automatically lose the game. This is annoying in so many ways. 1: The 800 survivors are governed by about 4-5 leaders. Every so often the group stops and calls a meeting and you must beg, reason or threaten them to move on. Each of these leaders likes a different method of persuasion though, and every time you attend the meeting there is a high probability that a group will break off with a leader who didn't like your persuasion technique. 2: The survivors only move if they are fed which means you have to locate food supplies by completing quests or locating food in dungeons, all while the draconians are hunting for you and the survivors. Once, I left the 800 survivors outside to explore a cave and exited only to find they had been whittled down to 200 survivors by a hoard of draconians while I was in the dungeon. 3: There is no form of communication with the player about what the status of a group is. Why did they just decide to stop? Are they resting? Do they want food? ARGH! I don't think I've ever hated peasants so much! I want to feed them to a dragon! Calax
Assassins creed for about an hour and it isn't shaping up too well. I hope it becomes better later on. depends on how you look at it, theres always the missions and the fun part is the assassinations but those can be few and far between for some players. Moatilliatta
I'm not even at that point yet. It's just the crappy story and the crappy fludity of the controls and the crappy combat and... lots of stuff that detracts from the game. I'd give it a 6/10 at the moment so I'm hoping it allows more freeform stuff later on and becomes actually fun.
Pidesco
Running away from soldiers is actually a lot of fun. Ditto for stealth killing. All the stupid optional missions are crap, though. Kill the bullies, pickpocketing, eavesdropping all suck. And then there's the collectathons. LadyCrimson
I would be playing the WoW beta, if the last build patch yesterday hadn't totally fubar'd the ability to stay logged into the server for more than 3 minutes. So instead...maybe I'll get Spore this evening....tho from the early reviews, it doesn't appear to be quite the game I had originally envisioned. Deadly_Nightshade
Well, I was killing time this morning by visiting a yard sale that was going on down the street and, low and behold, there was a copy of Resident Evil 4 for the PC for the reasonable amount of one dollar and fifty cents. Figuring that an older game would not use one-time-only registration, and realising that I would only be out a very small amount of cash, I got it and took it home; although I was soon to find out why it was priced so cheap. THERE IS NO MOUSE SUPPORT! Luckily, I've found a mod that adds it in, but for a little while there I was reminded as to why PC shooters are more responsive than their console counterparts (I was using a controller and it felt like running in cement shoes).
