You have to drag them with your mouse my inventory screen comes up next to the character portraits. Im talking about the neverwinter button at the bottom left of the screen that you need to click. one click: i Thats a keyboard command. one click: c That is also a keyboard shortcut. this is adjustable in the game options. You cant adjust it to 0.

Spider Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I really haven't found PA to be that bad. For me when I click it, it activates with the next attack and typically stays on. It does go off randomly at times, but it's fairly rare (although maybe I'm not using it enough). The button I do have an issue with though is Defensive Casting. That one is an absolute nightmare to get to activate. If my character has performed any action in the current round, it typically involves pausing every second, clicking and clicking it to see if a new round has started. Then when it goes on, the character can't cast a spell until the next round starts. And it gets turned off all the time causing the character to either lose another action or get hit with AoO. Modes should work just like Stealth and Search mode. Click them and they go on regardless of where you are in a round and stay on until you actively turn them off.

With me, the button itself is usually very responsible; it does turn off randomly, but if the button is responsive its not so bad. You need to type the name of the game again whenever you save. Quicksave? Inventory items need to be dragged around. Truth. Doesnt bother me too much though. No option to reverse the camera controls. Truth. No options for reassigning or mapping keys. Keymapping Options? No option to use WSAD for the camera instead of movement. See above, unless I got something wrong? You select the characters at one corner of the screen and access their inventories at the exact opposite end. No you don't. Select character, Hit "I", see Inventory pop up right next to your mouse. It takes two clicks to open up a characters inventory or character screen instead of the usual 1 click in most games. I prefer "I" rather than little buttons everywhere The delay in bringing up the right click menu. It can go down to 0.19 in in-game settings, which is near-instant. I dare say it can be reduced further in .ini, just like zoom speed can go out hte iwndow. Monte Carlo Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Would just like to thank Taks for the V-Synch advice. I'm running a Radeon card, was getting some lag on the highest resolution with high quality textures. By switching off my V-Synch and lowering the shadow quality the game is now running beautifully on these highest settings, and I'm currently in a dungeon fighting hordes of baddies with loads of effects going off. Also, the AI in NWN2 seems to be about the same as in NWN, and anyway you can always turn on puppet mode if it annoys you. The only real problem I have with NWN2 so far is the lack of any real challenge. Vallis is a real challenge if you're a mage, spent all your spells already, have no potions, and your party is all at 1/3 health. Wait, no. So I turned on the "use potions" AI, and watched the 5000 gp of cure serious wounds and heal potions I bought get burned in no more than 3 fights time. So I just decided to invest in some serious heal & mass heal (man, is that spell useful) spells and use them. I got through the game just fine having only bought healing potions in bulk 2 or 3 times in the entire game. Interesting side-note: At the final battle with Garius, he commented on the lack of equipment I had ) Took me back to Metal Gear Solid, when Psycho Mantis would give you a commentary on the game you had run so far with his "psychic powers", including whether or not you saved the game at all. My character died in half those early fights then had to be resuscitated with potions so that he wouldn't die in one hit.. ...just two. Right now I'm in Fhielis something's house clearing it of those stupid thieves, the first floor nearly killed me twice with mage-kelghar-neeska-qara, level ~7 on hardcore D&D. Probably because fireballing your own party tends to be a bad tactic. I have half a mind to just broadcast hold your ground and walk through the second floor, since knowing NWN2, if there's a boss fight at the end it'll have a dialogue first, instantly teleporting your party there. I can see he will be my tank in the group. Combat is pretty easy, so far I have not died yet or even had my hit points down to half. You just have to make a character you really like before you can pull it through. Take some time and create the character in your head before you play the game. Have a character concept, take it a bit beyond the RPing of the game. For example, if you want to have, say, a tiefling priest, you could create him such that he purpose in life is to fight and banish demons of his bloodline, so you make him a lawful neutral-aligned priest with the Protection and War domains, and give him fire resistance and will save bonuses, and shoot him towards warpriesting. Given the nature of the things he fights, he's never willing to compromise, and is always impatient, and acts as such. I find fleshing a character out like that that, instead of playing the character on the fly, helps to make one get "attached" to a character more easily It doesn't always work, since your planning doesn't really come out in the game very often, but it helps sometimes. Khelgar had over 150 HP, so he'd take 70 damage and then start quaffing potions as he was taking hits, thus ensuring he stayed around 100/150 HP and continually using the potions. Which is admitantly an odd mix, lets just say he wishes the world was a colder place. His attitude, well he wants to kill the NPC's who are stopping him from advancing, but obviously he's too smart and wise to do so, he's frustrated, and just wants to find out where these shards are from, and if they'll be useful in allowing a comfortable life someplace cold away from cities... Some place upnorth, beyond the spine of the world. Hates just about everybody, and enjoies seeing conflict in his party, if only so he can laugh at how pathetic they are, they're about for entertainment, not for need... I went to Yaosig something's lair, keeled him, found the man that claimed to be the Emissary. Freed him. Went to Logram's lair, killed Logram. Picked up his medallion. Looted the place. Went down below and killed the priest and got his journal. Came back out, came back to Owl Well. On the way got ambushed by the same "man" who is apparently not the Emissary. Callum the commander still acts like I havent done anything. I look in the journal, and the emissary quest is still stuck on "find logram's lair", and the logram quest says "bring his war banner". What war banner? Did I miss something in that stuipd dungeon and have to go back?
