Choosing Ashton Kutcher to portray an intelligent person is either completely moronic or pure comedic genius.

Kutcher is underrated. He did a terrific job in BE. Awesome. That entire movie was terrific. Great acting, great story, great pacing, and so on. They did overdo some of the 'bad stuff' that happen and in one part he overacted way too much; but overall; that movie made me a Kutcher fan when baforehand he was just a goofball.

The whole movie is underrated.

Sadly, part 2 was plain old fashion complete crap.

I was going to go and watch The Departed, but the whole theater was taken. Some kind of private occasion.

The simple fact that Butterfly Effect has that name makes it incredibly stupid. Mainly because what happens in the movie has bugger all to do with the actual "butterfly effect".

LOL Kelso. P.S. The Guardina doesn't look that interetsing, imo.

Eh? Sure it does. The smallest change can have a ripple effect on much larger things. It's the premise of both the idea of the 'butterfly effect' and the movie.

Oh, you tellin' me you wanted the movie show a butterfly actually being stepped on? Uhuh... A recent dinosuar movie did that. It was cool; but not as good.

The changes he makes aren't small, he makes huge changes to the past. And those changes affect the present in a very predictable way. What kind of butterfly effect is that?

Don't take the Butterfly Effect so narrowly. The point is you make a change; other things will change as well.

I guess you wnated him to wear a blue shirt instead of a red one; and have major things change because of that? That's not as entertaining.

The Butterfly Effect is still taking place in the movie. And, some of the changes are rather small in the large scheme of things. Ex: How he handles the whole dog shooting thing IIRC TRhe way it changes how various characters turn out is a very good example.

Yes, the point of the movie is that making changes to the past is an incredibly bad idea. Something Mr. Genius Psychology Major should get right off the bat. Yet he doesn't, despite being, apparently, a really smart guy.

Also, the movie is, structurally, just a bunch of little skits thrown together, each showing what happens every time the schmuck changes something. When the producers felt they had enough footage to make a movie, they just stopped.

the princess bride. that movie ROCKS

Indeed it does.

Re: BE - the premise was interesting and the actor did ok...and it had some cool moments...but in the end it was a pretty ordinary "what if" motion picture. I was kinda of disappointed with it, really. But it was a movie classic compared to BE2.

I saw CR and liked it. As many of you may already know, this is the first James Bond novel and should have been the first movie but the rights to that one had already been sold by the time Broccoli bought the film rights.

Anyway, it is a much different Bond and yet they didn't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'm hoping they will treat it like Batman Begins and essentially start the frachise over.

Been watching The Wire on HBO demand. Great stuff I highly recommend it to those that have not had a chance to view what may well be the best show on television.

The best show on television is Battlestar Galactica!

Does it have commercials? If so I would not know.

Just saw Casino Royale. Wow. My first unfiltered reaction was that this was the best James Bond movie.

I can feel every single b-ball that has ever existed at my fingertips. I can feel their collective knowledge channeling through my viens. Just watched The Break Up with Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Anniston. It was decent enough. Not really a romantic comedy, which might be why it got trashed a bit in the reviews. Vaughn makes it worth seeing with his line delivery. Pretty cool Chicago scenes if you've ever visited, that alone was fun for me to watch. It's not a movie I'd enjoy without my wife, as we were able to relate to certain tendancies in the film.

Yesterday watched The Company of Wolves. It was the starting movie for the movie festival that takes place here in the autumns. Beautiful film, I haven`t seen something that satisfying for a long time. That girl, visuals, the dreamy atmopshere, David Warner, wolves.... just enchanting. Sometimes it just so nice to see old movies on big screen. Neil Jordan was also supposed to be there, but something came up. At least he will be there when they show Interview with the Vampire.
